Chapter 2298
Alda smiled. "Are you serious?"
"Of course!" Callie replied. She was actually joking, but she did not want to look bad and suffer Alda's contempt either and simply kept going.
"Well, if you say so. Don't regret it now!"
Alda really loved stuff like this, however, and turned to leave.
Gathering former members of the Cerulean Summit Legion, she had them stand in a line and picked five good-looking ones, taking them to Frank's office.
Though they were a far cry from Frank, they were good-looking in their own way-they could even qualify for celebrities!
"Manners!"noveldrama
At Alda's order, all five men bowed at Callie. "Hello, Ms. Wright!"
Alda then spread her arms at Callie. "Go on, choose!"
Callie smiled in wry amusement. "You're the respectable heiress of the Ingram family, but why do you look so good pimping? You'd be laughed at if word of this gets out!"
Alda ignored her. "You're the one who asked to choose, and I brought the selection. Come on, choose!"
Callie was not actually interested and merely suggested it on a whim, and she naturally caved.
Standing up, she said, "I need the ladies' room. Just wait here..."
"Don't try to run away, or I'll really come after you."
"Worry not. I'm no runner!"
Alda snorted and dismissed the men after Callie had left, laughing. "What a pushover!"
Jada grinned. "I mean, if you don't like that, you could show her by going through with it."
Alda quickly shook her head. "I'm not like that, but unlike her, I know when not to brag. She's obviously not going through with it and even refuses to admit defeat. How unseemly."
Nadia laughed. "It really begs the question why Mr. Frankton always has that long face. Who wouldn't do what with these comedians around? I'd be chasing them away if were yott."
"Don't try to drive a wedge between us!" Alda rolled her eyes. "Mr. Frankton is more interested in me anyway."
Nadia ignored her and worked on her proposal since she had nothing else to do anyway.
In the evening, Meg Quill was standing outside Golden Lily, smiling as she welcomed an influx of guests.
There was no end to visitors after Frank made a name for himself, and people learned that he owned Golden Lily.
Meg was a little unaccustomed to it at first but could now handle it with relative ease.
A drunk guest suddenly asked, "Oh, Ms. Quill, you're so much better looking than those gals droning in the rooms... Wanna hang out with me?" He was bolstered by liquid courage despite knowing who owned Golden Lily, even teasing Meg.
While Meg was annoyed, and she could be fearless with Frank's backing, there were plenty of other
guests like this one, and she had no reason to cause Frank unnecessary trouble.
"I'm a hag now." She smiled instead. "I won't be much fun. Why don't I get you a couple of pretty faces—my treat, how about that?"
"No way! You're coming with me, or I'm tearing this place down!"
Seeing that the guest was being stubborn, Meg ignored him and barked into her walkie-talkie, "Send Ida and the others to the lobby. We have a troublemaker here!"
What do you think?
