Chapter 210 Being Monitored
Allison just rolled her eyes, totally unfazed by their claims. Ever since Preston, Jasper, and Hayden started demanding the family estate, she'd heard it all before. What they didn't realize was that the so-called Bishop family estate wasn't really tied to the actual Bishop family anymore.
Soon enough, the cops showed up, checking out the mess and the injured, and they hauled everyone down to the station.
"Detained? For what? Allison broke my guy's arm, and you're detaining us? This is ridiculous!" Vernon raged, unable to believe he was the one getting locked up.
"Mr. Bishop, you caused a scene at the restaurant, and your bodyguards started the fight. Ms. Bennett was defending herself. You should get a lawyer. Detention is inevitable," the officer explained.
Not used to being treated like this, Vernon was furious and made a big fuss. Meanwhile, Allison finished giving her statement and left the station, spotting Alexander rushing towards her.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Alexander asked, worry all over his face.
Alexander had been in a meeting when he heard Allison was at the police station. He bolted out of there and sighed in relief when he saw she was fine.
"I'm good. It's the others who got hurt. Chill out; you're sweating," Allison said, wiping his forehead with her sleeve.
Alexander pulled her into a tight hug. "You scared the hell out of me. You know that?"
He had dropped her off in the morning, and by noon, she was at the police station. How could he not freak out?
"Mr. Carter, don't worry. Ms. Bennett is fine. The troublemakers will be locked up for a few days, but Mr. Bishop seems like bad news," Xavier chimed in.
Alexander finally noticed Vernon, realizing he had caused trouble at Xavier's restaurant and had a run-in with Allison. This wasn't going to end well.
"I'll have someone keep tabs on him. Xavier, get me all the info you can about this Mr. Bishop. The more detailed, the better."
Xavier nodded and joined Allison in Alexander's car. Alexander dropped them off at Serenity Manor before heading back to his meeting, looking pretty grim. The board members were on edge the rest of the day.
Back at Serenity Manor, Allison went to find Cleo and Sabrina.
"Did you find anything last night?"
Cleo had indeed found something. "We were just poking around and found quite a bit. Check this out."noveldrama
Cleo showed Allison dozens of images on her computer, revealing hidden cameras scattered all over Serenity Manor.
"Looks like someone's been watching us for a while. They know our every move. The question is, who would go to such lengths?"
Whoever had infiltrated the Carter Group's construction team and installed surveillance under the Ellis family's noses was no amateur. They had serious resources.
"Can you trace the surveillance feeds?" Allison asked.
Cleo handed her the laptop. "Sure, but I'm beat. I didn't sleep at all last night. You take over. I'm crashing."
Cleo and Sabrina headed to their secluded quarters to rest, with Dwight and Teddy in the next room. Only Timothy brought them meals.
Allison got to work tracing the surveillance feeds. The cameras were linked to different IP addresses, showing that whoever was behind this was pretty tech-savvy and cautious. She could trace the addresses, but at the last moment, she decided to leave the surveillance intact, only disabling the cameras that were monitoring people.
After finishing up, Allison headed to the now-cleaned private restaurant with new furniture. The Ellis family members still looked uneasy.
"Ms. Bennett, you're here," Timothy greeted.
Allison nodded, looking around the room. "Mr. Carter has arranged for security. There shouldn't be any more trouble. Reassure everyone and keep the restaurant closed for lunch. We'll reopen for dinner."
Timothy agreed. "My father had the same idea. We'll have a quiet lunch to calm everyone's nerves."
"I'll go check on Kismet," Allison said, heading to the back, where she found Xavier leaving Kismet's room.
"Xavier, is Kismet okay?"
Xavier smiled. "She's fine. We didn't tell her about the incident. She's busy scolding Hunter."

Curious, Allison quietly entered the room to find Kismet giving Hunter a hard time.
"I told you those sauces have been passed down for a hundred years! How could you throw them out?"
Kismet was furious, hitting Hunter lightly. He looked sheepish but took it in stride. Elsa, lounging nearby, watched with amusement.
"What hundred-year-old sauces? I threw out that old batch. You chefs are weird, keeping such old sauces. Aren't you worried about health issues?" Hunter retorted. Kismet was livid. "Do you know how long it takes to brew those sauces? Even if they mold, they're still usable. It takes decades to make a good batch. Do you realize how much time you've wasted?"
Elsa, feeling guilty, stayed quiet. Kismet had ignored her for years over this, depriving her of delicious food.
"Kismet, the richness of the sauce comes from repeated brewing and precise seasoning. I've made new batches dozens of times. They're just as good, if not better. Let me brew a pot for you," Hunter offered.
"Big talk. Go ahead. If it's not right, you'll go three days without food. You'll guard the sauce pot until you get it right. Otherwise, you're not my student," Kismet challenged. Hunter smiled confidently. "I won't disappoint you, Kismet."
He eagerly headed to the kitchen, turning Kismet's challenge into motivation. Allison was impressed by Hunter's determination.
