Chapter 1643
"Alright, give me the negative item," Skylar finally said, relenting at last.
...
A few days later, across the street outside the Martin Group building, Raven stood still, gazing at the towering structure in front of her.
The corner of her lips curled into a faint, ambiguous smile, her eyes flickering with cold and bitter memories.
"It's been a long time. You're still living your glamorous lives. Oh, how I've envied you. But how long can you keep smiling? Things aren't the same as they were before. Do you really think your luck will last forever?" she murmured to herself. Her chest was tight with pent-up resentment, a dark cloud that had been swirling inside her for a very long time.
At the same time, Paul appeared outside the Martin Group building. He glanced across the street and noticed the woman standing there. She had been staring at their building for ten minutes.
Though her face wasn't clear from this distance, something was unsettling about her presence-something inexplicable.
People passing by Martin Group might glance at the impressive building or snap a few pictures out of curiosity, but no one would stand rooted to the spot like this woman.
While his eyesight was good, it wasn't sharp enough to discern her features from this distance.
Suddenly, a thought struck him. He pulled out his phone and discreetly took a photo.
Zooming in, he examined her face. When the image came into focus, his eyes widened in shock. "It's her!"
...
Skylar stared at the photo on her phone, momentarily lost in thought. What on earth was going on with Raven?
Even after Paul and Aiken's investigations, they hadn't uncovered anything concrete about her background. Suddenly, her phone rang-it was an unknown number.
"Hello?" Skylar answered.
"I know you've been looking into me. And I assume Elsie has already seen you, right? Let's meet. Maybe I can give you the answers you're looking for Raven said.
Skylar arched an eyebrow. "Alright."
...
After ending the call, Raven turned her gaze to the luxurious residential complex before her.
The apartments here were far beyond anything she could afford, even if she worked for years. But Janine lived here.noveldrama
According to what she had
uncovered, Janine was now living an
enviable life. She had married a billionaire and was enjoying the lifestyle of a wealthy socialite.
It was truly unbelievable. Why was
the heavens so kind to people like et
? They seem to get everet
e of luck.
However...
Her lips curled into a cold smile as she lowered her gaze to her phone.
The lock screen displayed a photo of Skylar and Joe, smiling sweetly and warmly for the camera.
Every time Raven saw the picture, her hatred grew deeper, and her resentment became more intense. "The heavens have been far too kind to you two. But your nightmare is about to begin."
What do you think?
