Painful seduction

“Oh my goodness! You don’t want to see this Cathy.” She yelled on top of her voice, luckily the phone she was holding didn’t drop.

“What’s the matter?” Cathy asked as she rushed to where Nelly was.

” Don’t worry about me. Just remember you have me and I will always be here with you.”

“Now you’re making me so anxious.” She spoke in fright as her lips quivered.

“You have to keep your cool.” Nelly advised.

“Tell me what the problem is…don’t bother, I will find out for myself.” Cathy said as she grabbed the phone and looked at what Nelly was hiding.

“It’s a camera in Axl’s office. Why is it here? And why don’t I have access to it.” Cathy asked repeatedly without a chance for Nelly to give an explanation.

“You’re asking so many questions that I don’t have answers to.”

They were both interrupted when they saw a familiar face displayed on the screen, they recognized the person as Alexia Bachman.

“How does Alexia Bachman know Axl, what are they planning?”

” Cathy?” She called out,”Please stop the questioning , I don’t have answers.”

Cathy nodded in affirmative but Nelly doubted it was sincere.

They watched for a while and quickly guessed what would happen next, it was very evident that Alexia was trying to seduce Axl. They looked at the screen intensely with their eyes not blinking even for a moment till when their suspicion was finally confirmed.

Cathy couldn’t hide her disgust when she saw Axl making out with a lady in his office, although she knew their marriage together had not been perfect, She has never expected him to cheat on her, she could never imagine him stooping so low to cheat with a lady who wasn’t even up to his class of status.

Nelly who noticed Cathy’s mood immediately turned off the footage, she too was disappointed but not surprised although she had never thought he was a womanizer or flirt but recently she had expected worse things to happen.

“What are we going to do now Cathy?”

” We just have to wait till we see her, she already agreed to lunch so we would wait till then.”

“I’m really sorry about Axl,

“It’s fine. Please let’s leave, I’m not comfortable staying here.”

Without uttering a word, she grabbed her purse from the wash basin and left immediately.

Both ladies had come together to the restroom in order to check the messages and also listen to the voice notes since they were too curious to even finish their food.

Nelly was granted the permission to look for anything suspicious since she was the oldest and the boldest while Cathy hanged around the area.

Nelly hadn’t searched for long before she discovered the footage and it was enough discovery for the day and she was sure Cathy won’t want to go through the phone again. She might be scared to discover more truth which would hurt her.

This betrayal was enough, Nelly thought.

She cleared the thoughts in her head and rushed out of the rest room before Cathy left her. Luckily, she found Cathy just a few meters away from the car.

“Please drive home immediately.” She begged.

Nelly obeyed without uttering a word, she was scared Cathy might get upset if she brought out a further discussion or try to engage her in a topic. She drove in silent and not even a word was spoken, the only sound that was heard was the music from the radio. It played soft music which calmed Cathy and helped her emotions.

There was no traffic so they got home in no time.

Inside, the first person they met was Mr. Anderson. He was in the living room going through some files that Cathy didn’t care about. He looked up immediately and saw the doors flung open.

” You’re here, Cathy. Can you get…?” His words were left trailing as she walked past him without uttering a word.

Mr. Anderson was shocked, Cathy had never expressed such behavior and it made him wonder what was wrong with her. What had happened in the office wasn’t enough reason for her to disrespect him.

” What just happened?” He asked one in particular.

” It’s your son, who else?” She said , offering no more explanation and left to meet Cathy.

She met Cathy undressing and offered to ask the maid to make something for her but she declined the offer explaining step had already eaten and only wanted to take a shower and rest. With this shs left after deciding that the best option was leaving her alone.

Immediately she left, Cathy was left alone in her hurt. She felt hurt and betrayed. Maybe those words were even an understatement to what she was feeling at that moment.

Axl will have to explain this, she muttered angrily and bit her lips in the process.

She was about to enter the shower when her phone rang but she didn’t check it, guessing it would be from one of her office workers. The call came again and it got to her nerves, she picked up the phone and discovered it was from Axl.

What was the problem now? She muttered to herself before taking the call.

” Cathy, I need to see you immediately. We have things to talk about.” He said immediately she answered the call.

” I know right?” She sneered at him, he didn’t respond to that and from the silence she knew he was taken aback by her statement.

” What are you saying Cathy? Is anything the matter? Did I do something wrong?” He questioned.

” Axl we have a lot to talk about and unfortunately, it’s not a phone conversation.” She said and ended the call immediately.

She felt hurt for doing so but her actions were justified, she had just found a video of her husband cheating on her that was enough reason for her to get angry and upset at him.
