” Are you there Demetrio? You can’t believe what just happened , Man.” Axl said immediately, impatiently

“Tell me everything. I’m waiting.” He said politely. He too was eager to know what was going on.

” It’s Cathy and my father.” He answered in a whisper, Axl couldn’t guess why .

Maybe he was at home, he thought.

“What happened now again?” Dementrio asked, quite disappointed that he might be wasting his time settling Axl’s family issues that he knew would never end.

” I think Cathy knows the truth. My dad and Cathy got involved in a fight.” He started his narration.

Dementrio who was disappointed early, immediately adjusted his collar, the story was now taking a different turn. He had never expected to hear of a fight between Mr. Anderson and Cathy, it was unbelievable because Mr. Anderson had always loved Cathy like his own daughter and even more than Axl, so what could be the problem now?

” What happened between them and what truth are you talking about?” He asked.

” I don’t know the details but we can’t talk now. Come over for a drink and we could talk better.”

” I have to watch my girlfriend, she’s sick but we could come together. I just want to be around her.”

” Have you taken her to the doctor, she might be pregnant, you know.”

” Stop being sarcastic dude. Send the address and I will be there in a short while.

She must have slept for an hour like he asked her to , because he was still sitting in the same position, only that he was looking at her, smiling so charmingly.

She looked at him, quizzed at why he was smiling and tried getting up to sit upright but her muscles were stuck to the bed so with Dementrio’s help she got up gradually.

” I wasn’t expecting you to be awake so soon.”

” What were you thinking about?” She asked, ignoring what he said earlier.

” A lot of things but most especially making you mine.” He grinned from ear to ear.

” Can I take the drugs now? It will be night cover soon.” She said as she requested for the drugs.

” Sure.” He answered, taking the tablets and collecting the right dose base on prescription before putting it in her palm

She swallowed them immediately with a mouthful of water.

” How do you feel now?”

“A lot better than how I felt before.”

He smiled at her and squeezed her cheeks lovingly.

“Can I ask?”

“Yes…”

” What the doctor says is really wrong with me. ”

” He had said it was just stress but later on he called me secretly to say Cindy knows about everything. You have an idea what might be wrong?” He wasn’t quite sure of what the truth was.

“No…I haven’t suffered any serious ailment, so I’m surprised.”

“Don’t worry about it. I don’t think it’s so serious. That reminds me I have something to tell you. ”

“About the dispute between your family and the Chester’s family?” She asked.

“Yes…but how do you know about that?”

“I’ve been wanting to hear everything for a long time. I had hoped it would be something that can be solved.”

“I’m sorry my dear but I don’t think I can forget it and forgive the Chester’s family for everything.”

Rhea listened with rapt attention as she watched every moment his lips and eyes made, it was like they were the only body parts which could tell her the truth.

“I really don’t know what to say.”

” Should I tell you why I was smiling?”

” Tell me.”

” The thought of you being pregnant, I haven’t thought of being a father but the feeling I got when Axl mentioned you might be pregnant got to me.”

She smiled at him as she squeezed his cheeks lightly, his face was red in embarrassment but he looked handsome.

“You will make a good Father.” She whispered.

” You mean it?” He was beaming with uncontrollable smiles.

“Yes. Our son will be proud of you.”

He opened her blouse to reveal her abdomen and he kissed her navel and looked at her before whispering,

” I hope it happens soon.”

“What if right now, I’m carrying our son in my womb.”

” It will be great, like one of my best nights only that it’s not real.”

” Are you sure? Because I could show you the doctor’s report.”

He watched her for a few minutes, not able to understand what she said. He was confused. What was she trying to say?

” Are you pregnant?” He asked, awkward but hoping for a positive response.

” Yes… Yes I am.” She revealed her excitement.

He hugged her immediately in joy, he had never expected such.

” Are you really serious? why didn’t you tell me?”

” You were so worried about me and I wanted to surprise you but Axl spoiled it.”

” Does Cindy know about it? The doctor said she knew what was wrong with you.”

” No.. Cindy isn’t about it. I don’t know what they are up to.”

” It’s fine, okay. Don’t worry about them now. I will find out what she’s hiding. You and our unborn child are now my responsibility.” He took each of her palms and planted a kiss

” Does the family crises affects your love for us?” She asked with tears leaving Demetrio to wonder how it came. She had been smiling since.

” It changes nothing, I just need you to support me and I won’t hurt anyone. Tell me what you want to do.”

” You have your wealth, maybe you should consider this.”

“I will give it a thought. I told Axl, I was going to meet with him soon. He said he has something important to tell me.”

” Do you want to leave me here? Alone?”

” No, My love. I won’t take such a risk Rhea. I won’t let you leave my presence.”

” I don’t have any clothes here, just one. Will you help me get my clothes from Cindy’s house?”

” Yes but that will be by tomorrow. First you can wear the available one and we go shopping for some new ones.”

“Go get dressed or you want me to help you.”
