Chapter 379 A Stubborn Mule
Ethan walked through the door at the moment.
Hearing the sound of opening the door, Colin leaned backward and said meaningfully, "Why did it take
you so long?"
Ethan pulled out a chair for Violet and rested his hands on the back of the chair, wearing a cheeky
smile. "Well, I'm in good health."
Abbot teased, "We don't know that."
Ethan replied, "My darling friend, I can let you see that if you want to."
"Stop. Shut up." Ethan interrupted, waving his hand.
Then he turned to Colin, picking up the conversation. " Colin, I'm curious. Were you an immortal
before? Why did you come down to earth?"
"I was just a small immortal." Colin joked.
Abbot was confused.
"I came down to the earth just to find a mule," Colin said slowly.
Abbot didn't know what to say.
"A stubborn mule." Ethan rolled up his sleeves.
Abbot was completely lost for words, thinking, "What a base insinuator!"
Abbot leaned back silent in the chair, glaring between Colin and Ethan.
Colin turned to look at Faye whose lips twitched with amusement. He smiled and took her hand under
the table.
Faye raised her head to meet his eyes and saw Colin was mouthing, "Honey."
Faye did not reply, cast her eyes, and took a sip of her cup.
By Colin's side, Abbot had witnessed all their lovey-dovey behaviors and said in a low voice, "Colin,
can you just keep this low-key? This is too blatant."
Colin looked back at Abbot and said, "Why don't you go to see Ms. Black recently?
A look of embarrassment flashed across Abbot's face. "Why do I see her?"
"For business. Or what else do you want to do?" Colin said.
The door was opened again, and Owen came in with a playful smile.
Seeing Colin, Owen rushed to him and gave him a big hug, as if Colin was his beloved brother.
Colin pushed him away with a look of disgust on his face.
" Colin, when did you come? I had been at the gate but I didn't see you."
"Because of your bad eyes," Colin said.
Owen rubbed his nose, glancing at Ethan and saying in a low voice, "You're right. I had almost
offended Ethan's friend."
Then Owen winked at Colin and Abbot. "What's Ethan's relationship with Ms. Rowan?" Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Colin chuckled. "Friend."
"I don't believe that," Owen said.
Colin teased, "If you don't believe me, go and ask Ethan."
Hearing the name of Ethan, Owen immediately shut up with fear.
After Owen arrived, the waiters began to serve the dishes.
After all the dishes were served, Owen filled himself a glass of beer, stood up, raised his glass, and
said, "Ethan, today I did something wrong, so I'll drink two glasses of beer as an apology."
With that, Owen drank up the glass of beer and had two more.
After three glasses, Owen leaned forward with his hands on the table. "Ms. Rowan, I'm very sorry to
have offended you today."
Violet stood up with a smile and drank a glass of beer. "I'm not good at drinking. I can only drink a little.
After this glass of beer, we'll let go of it."
Violet looked like a gentle girl, but it turned out she was a straightforward person. After a glass of beer,
she smiled at Owen.
Owen was surprised that Violet would do that. After a moment of silence, he said with a smile, "You're
really Ethan's friend. It's very generous of you."
After the thing was settled, there was a relaxed atmosphere.
Abbot and Owen joked around.
Colin and Ethan talked about business but didn't talk too much because of Owen being here.
Being unacquainted with each other, Faye and Violet made a polite conversation and kept eating food.
After the meal, when Owen went to pay the bill, Ethan left first to drive Violet home.
On the way, Ethan got a call from his subordinate and was informed that those gangsters were
handled.
Ethan said, "Those gangsters are hired by Owen. Didn't he call to speak for them?"
"No," the bodyguard said.
"It turns out I've underestimated him," Ethan said with a cold smile.
After the call, Ethan glanced at Violet who was sitting next to him.
She was looking out of the window, staring at the dark sky.
Ethan looked away without any emotion on his face and continued to drive.
In the restaurant, Colin and the others walked out of the room and ran across Rebecca who was
coming out of the opposite room.
They looked at each other for a moment and then Rebecca blinked and said, "You guys were having a
big meal behind my back."
Faye smiled. "You must have misunderstood. We were not here for dinner."
Rebecca looked at Colin and Faye with disbelief.
"Ms. Black, are you having dinner with your customer?" Colin asked.
Rebecca glanced into the room, stepped forward, and said in a low voice, "It's a very hard customer."
Then she stepped backward and glanced at Abbot, thinking, "After all, I can't always pretend not to see
him. Well, it seems that I must face it."
Thinking of that, Rebecca smiled at Abbot and said, "Abbot, glad to see you here."
Abbot frowned and said, "How dare you socialize with customers alone? You small drinker."
