Chapter 380 This Is a Robbery

There was an awkward silence in the corridor because everyone was thinking about something in their

minds.

Rebecca broke the silence after a while, "Actually I'm good at drinking.

"But you're a sloppy drunk," Abbot said.

Afraid that Abbot would mention what happened the night when she was drunk, Rebecca changed the

topic, "Well, are you going home? I need to dine with my customer, so goodbye. I will treat you to

dinner if there's a chance."

Then she gave Faye a wink, made a gesture of giving a call, and turned back into the room.

With the sound of slamming the door, the atmosphere in the corridor became relaxed.

"Abbot, you've scared Ms. Black," Colin said.

"No, I didn't," Abbot retorted.

Colin didn't blow his cover and said, "I'm going back home with Faye. What about you?"

Abbot glanced sideways at Colin and said grumpily, "We don't go the same way."

Colin chuckled, "OK, be careful on the way back."

Hearing his meaningful words, Abbot turned to meet Colin's eyes. "I'll go to the parking lot with you and

wait for my assistant to pick me up," he said less confidently.

Colin said with a wicked smile. "This is not a safe world. Men must look after themselves when they go

out at night."

Hearing that, Abbot recalled those pictures of what happened that night and his face turned red.

"Colin," Faye warned.

Colin took the hint and smiled, "It's getting late. Honey, let's go home." NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

The three of them came out of Marriott. Faye drove the car and left with Colin. Abbot got into his car,

took out his cellphone, and found his assistant's phone number. But after a long time, he still didn't dial.

An hour later, while Abbot was still hesitating, he saw a familiar figure at the gate of Marriott.

Rebecca had gotten a big order tonight. Having drunk a lot, she was staggering on the steps.

Rebecca's customer was a man in his early forties, looking like an elite in his business suit with

carefully gelled hair.

Leaning back in the seat, Abbot watched Rebecca talk with the customer in the car.

On the steps, Rebecca smiled at the suited man, "Mr. Zachary, you can rest assured that our company

will never disappoint you."

"Ms. Black, you're really a good drinker. You beat me," the suited man said.

"Mr. Zachary, you've impressed me. You carry your liquor like a gentleman."

The man laughed. "I'm a man. How can a man make deals without the capacity for alcohol?"

After a small talk, the man looked at his watch and said, "Ms. Black, I have to go home. You know I'm a

hen-pecked husband. If I don't arrive home before 11:30 at night, then I'll share my dog's bed."

Rebecca knew what he meant and extended her hand. "Then I hope we'll enjoy our cooperation."

The man shook hands with her. "I hope so."

After watching her customer get in his car and drive away, Rebecca couldn't hold anymore. She

staggered down the steps, squatted down in a corner, and began to vomit.

After that, she muttered to herself, "Business dinners are very tiring. I'd rather have a hole in my

stomach than have a loophole on the contract."

At the moment, a hand flashed out with a bottle of water in it.

With a stomach upset, Rebecca didn't have the time to look who was here. She took the bottle of water,

gargled with it, and stood up. "Thank you, I..."

She stopped in the middle of a word as she saw who was in the front.

"Mr. Carter," she said with a half-smile.

Abbot looked down at her and scolded, "Why did you have to make yourself drunk like this?"

Rebecca squeezed the bottle and replied, "It's not easy to make money."

"You can't drive like this," Abbot said.

"Don't drink and drive. I'm calling for driving service."

"Where's your assistant?" Abbot frowned, looking at her.

Rebecca felt that her stomach was burning. She gulped down two mouthfuls of water and replied, "My

assistant is a young girl. I don't want to bother her at this late hour. It's not safe for a young girl to go

out in midnight."

"I didn't expect you're so kind," Rebecca said.

Rebecca sighed and added, "Besides, I need to pay her for overtime work. It's triple pay."

Abbot was speechless.

Under his steady gaze, Rebecca said at first, "Mr. Carter, thank you for your water. Then I'll take my

leave."

"Let me drive you home." Abbot looked down at her.

"Didn't you drink tonight?" Rebecca asked.

"I've called my assistant," Abbot said.

"My assistant doesn't ask for overtime pay," he added.

Rebecca was not sure whether his words were true or not. Besides, after what happened that night,

she didn't dare to stay with Abbot anymore. "No, thank you for your kindness, but I don't want to bother

you," Rebecca said quickly and turned to leave.

Watching her stagger drunkenly, Abbot said loudly, "After ten o'clock, the driving service charges

more."

Hearing that, Rebecca stopped in her tracks and said through clenched teeth, "It's okay. I've got a big

order. I can pay for it."

Abbot kept silent with his hands in his pockets.

A few minutes later, the parking lot resounded with Rebecca's piercing roar. "What?! 800 dollars?"

"Miss, this is a normal price," the driver said on the phone.

Rebecca angrily said, "This is a robbery! Who are you? Are you a hot guy with eight abs?"

"Miss, you're being ridiculous," the man said.

"What? Did you say I'm being ridiculous? I'm..." Rebecca shouted.

Before she could finish her words, the man hung up the phone.

Rebecca stared at the phone with livid disbelief.

She thought, "This is not my first time calling for driving service. 800 dollars is obviously a robbery! Was

he trying to fool me when I'm drunk?"

Nearby, Abbot texted a message to a man called Matthew. "Thank you."

Matthew texted back, "Tell Ethan and Colin, that if they pay bills in my restaurant again, then don't

come to my place to eat. They were embarrassing me!"

Abbot texted, "Even brothers keep careful accounts."

Matthew texted, "Don't say that crap to me. By the way, who's the girl just now?"

Abbot texted, "Screw you."

Matthew texted, "Fine. I'll ask Colin about it. He must know that."

Abbot was in a fractious mood. "You don't know her. Things between me and her are not what you

think. Watch what you say in front of Colin."

But Matthew didn't reply to him.

After a few seconds, Abbot's cellphone vibrated. Abbot read the message. "Well, it turns out it's Ms.

Black."
