Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 1422

"You can call me Wilbur," Wilbur smiled and said to Travis.

Travis spoke slowly, "No matter who you are, leave immediately."

"What if I don't?" Wilbur replied nonchalantly.

Travis stared at Wilbur, saying, "My master, he's someone you absolutely can't afford to provoke. You'd better not trouble yourself..."

However, before he finished his sentence, he raised his hand and launched a fireball at Wilbur, simultaneously starting to form hand seals.

Speaking to distract, casting a fireball in an instant to buy time for the next spell, Travis's movements were like flowing water. But he got the target wrong.

With just a snap of his fingers, Wilbur sent a frost arrow that extinguished the fireball instantly. Following that, with a clap of his hands, he conjured a hex pillar light prison.

Suddenly, six pillars of light rose around Travis, runes swirling upon them, releasing immense energy, directly binding Travis inside.

At this moment, Travis's face changed drastically. He had never seen anyone cast spells so rapidly; it was simply too exaggerated. And with his strength, he could not break free from the hex pillar light prison.

Wilbur then stood up, exerting effort to pat Ben's shoulder, finally granting him freedom.

He first went to Lisa and her daughter, shielding them, and said, "Mister Penn, please don't harm us. I'll do anything for you."

It was only now that he finally understood, Wilbur was no ordinary cultivator. And Earl Hans was not as easy to deceive as he had imagined. He attacked directly.

If Wilbur had not arrived in time, he, his daughter, and his lover Lisa would all have been in trouble.

Wilbur sighed, looking at Ben, "I've come to your doorstep several times with sincerity, but you kept evading. Now, things have gone awry."

"I'm sorry, it's my fault," Ben lowered his head in shame.

Wilbur sat down at the table, glancing at Ben. "Dinner isn't finished yet, let's continue. We'll talk after you finish eating."

"No need, I'll say everything," Ben replied. He stumbled over to Wilbur's side, the fat on his body jiggling with each step.

"Mister Penn, it's not that I didn't want to tell you. It's just that, as you mentioned that guy, Lou, he's sided with Earl Hans. I simply couldn't risk telling you," he confessed.

"And yet you dared take my money?" Wilbur replied nonchalantly.

Ben slapped himself across the face as he pleaded, "I've been foolish. I admit, I was drawn by your money. I'm willing to refund double."

Wilbur chuckled, casting a glance at the trapped Travis. "What's this all about? Another one of your enemies?"

"He's one of Earl Hans's men, here to silence me," Ben explained, realizing it was futile to keep silent about his conflict with Hans.

Wilbur smiled. "I'd love to hear the whole story."

"Well, after you killed Jeff, I went to Earl Hans and told him about your search for Lou. I thought Hans would deal with you somehow, but I never expected I'd be the first target," Ben confessed bitterly.

Wilbur chuckled. "You tried to divert trouble, but ended up stirring it for yourself."

"Yes, I admit my mistake," Ben humbly admitted, bowing his head.

Wilbur tapped his fingers on the table, lost in thought.

After a moment, he spoke again, "So, Earl Hans knows where Lou is?"noveldrama

"He definitely does," Ben confirmed.

Wilbur nodded. "In light of your honesty, return my money, and we'll call it even."

"Absolutely, I'll refund you immediately," Ben nodded profusely.

Satisfied, Wilbur got up and approached Travis, who was now trapped in the glowing prison.

Turning to Travis, Wilbur said calmly, "Tell Earl Hans this: I'll formally visit him tomorrow. I hope he can provide me with accurate information about Lou. My patience is wearing thin, and if there's no news soon, I might get very angry. The consequences will be severe."
