Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 1423

Travis nodded solemnly.

Wilbur snapped his fingers, and the six-column light prison disappeared, freeing Travis. Without saying a word, Travis simply nodded toward Wilbur and then left directly.

"Sir, why did you let him go?" Ben seemed somewhat puzzled. "Whether killing him directly or using him as a hostage, it's better than letting him go."

Wilbur smiled. "We all have our dignity. When taking action, it's important to use diplomacy before force. We, people of Dasha, uphold etiquette."

Ben fell silent, wearing a concerned expression.

Wilbur smiled faintly. "Their target is me now. You are no longer important. Don't worry, you'll be fine."

Saying this, Wilbur reached out to pat Ben's shoulder, but Ben, being tall and sturdy, made it a bit of an effort for Wilbur. However, the clever Ben immediately stooped down and caught Wilbur's pat.

Satisfied, Wilbur smiled. "The dinner is still warm, so you all should continue eating. I'll take my leave."

Wilbur turned and left. Ben watched Wilbur's departure, lost in thought.

At that moment, Lisa, holding her daughter, came to Ben, still shaken. "What exactly happened?"

"Perhaps Earl Hans has gotten himself into big trouble this time," Ben suddenly grinned sinisterly.

Meanwhile, Wilbur seemed to be in good spirits as he strolled back to the hotel.

Indeed, Ben had some idea of what was going on. With a lead now, he could probably sort things out when he went to see that Earl tomorrow. As for the rest, Wilbur did not dwell on it much. He was always ready to face challenges head-on, adapting to whatever came his way.

Unbeknownst to him, he found himself on the street adjacent to the hotel, where a food cart was selling snacks and drinks. Wilbur gladly took a seat and ordered some grilled chicken wings and a glass of wine, intending to have a light drink.

Before long, the grilled chicken wings arrived, and Wilbur took a sip of whisky before biting into the wings. They were a bit sweet, but still enjoyable.

Just then, a voice exclaimed, "Boss, give me a whisky, please."

A figure settled down next to Wilbur.

Wilbur smiled faintly and turned to say, "Elise, what a coincidence."

"Ah, it's you! What are you doing here?" Elise was visibly surprised.

Wilbur nodded. "I just went out to handle some matters, felt a bit hungry, so decided to grab a bite and a drink. What about you, coming out for a drink alone?"

Raising her glass of whisky, Elise downed it in one go, her face full of distress.noveldrama

Observing her expression, Wilbur spoke gently, "Is it about your brother's situation? Still unresolved?"

"Yeah, but my dad and their bunch are already figuring it out. Let's not talk about this. How about joining me for a couple of drinks?" Elise's eyes revealed deep worry.

Wilbur nodded in agreement. "Sure."

Immediately, Elise ordered a large bottle of whisky, and the two started drinking one glass after another. Before long, Elise swayed and passed out, leaning against Wilbur.

Wilbur sighed. "With such a low tolerance, why drink at all?"

He reluctantly got up to settle the bill, carrying Elise to the hotel front desk,

intending to get her a room. But then, a voice angrily shouted, "Who are you? Put Elise down!"
