Alpha's Second Chance

Chapter 0210

ROSE

When we get to Fonteblanda, it is dark and late, and everything is closed for the night, so Enzo finds an old shed that looks abandoned.

“I am afraid this is what we will find tonight," Enzo says with regret in his eyes, and I caress his face.

"This will do. It is only for a few hours," I tell him. He finds an old bench and sits down on it.

"Come here, you can rest against me. I will keep you safe." He promises, and I do as he says. It does not take me long to fall asleep.

*Dream*

I was walking through the forest, and I saw the mountains, so I knew it was the forest at home. I see Enzo running next to me in his wolf form, and it is then I realize my sight seems a lot better and more clear than normal. I look down and am shocked to see paws.

I am in a wolf form, the fur is reddish and a little brown, and I feel stronger than I ever have. We reach the mountains and the waterfalls and shift back to human form. And Enzo puts his arms around me and caresses my stomach softly, making me look down. My stomach is not flat, it's not big either, but it does have a noticeable bump, and I feel as if I am glowing.

"Do you feel okay?" Enzo asks.

"Yes, thank you for letting me have this run, even if it is the last before I give birth," I tell him.

"I promise you that Rocky and I won't shift, only for duty, until he and Kaila can run together again." He promised me.

"I love you, Enzo," I tell him.

"And I love you, my beautiful Rose." He answers, and everything turns white.

"He is your future, my princess. I feel your fear and your doubt. But not everyone will hurt you. Some, like your family, will love you and protect you. Enzo is one of them, and I promise you that you will not regret it." A soft but, at the same time, powerful feminine voice.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"I my child, is your goddess." The voice says just before I wake up.

*Dream Over*

I open my eyes, and my back rests still against Enzo. I stayed there for a little bit. "Are you okay?" I hear Enzo ask me.

"Yes, I had a dream, I think, or a message from the moon goddess," I answer.

"What did she show you?" Enzo asks, not even doubting my word.

"She showed me the future, think about our future," I whisper.

"Was it a good future?" He asks me.

"I had a wolf, and I was pregnant," I answer.

Enzo doesn't speak at first, but I feel his gentle touch on my shoulder, and then

his hand reaches my cheek turning my head.

"Do you not want children?" He asks.

"I do. I always wanted my own family, like my dad and mom,” I tell him.

"And we will have that, and I will always be by your side."

"She showed me I had a wolf. Maybe it was only a dream. I never even heard a whisper in my head," I whispered.

"Rocky felt her. He says she is there, that she will show when the time is right." Enzo says, but I don't say anything.

"We need to leave, get over the border, away from this territory. What city did you want to go to?" he asked me.

"Everyone I talked with told me last they heard she was near the borders or between them," I tell him, and he thinks a little.

"Okay, we will go to Albinia today,

cross the border, and stay there until tomorrow. And we can start going through the small cities between there an Terni, which is a city just on the other side of the border into the 3rd territory. We should try to be in the territory as far as possible at nighttime. It's safer. I know it's a lot of traveling, but Albinia is a human city, so we can rest there." He says.

“No, it is a good idea. Maybe when we get out of the territory, we can find a ride?"

I ask him.

"Maybe. If we are lucky enough." He answers, and we leave the shed, unseen by anyone else.

"Again, I am sorry about where we stayed for the night." He says but I smile.noveldrama

"Don't be. We were safe, and that is what matters. Now let's get out of here," I say, and he smiles.

We walk away and towards Albinia first in silence but then there is something I really want to know.

"How is it that you are so familiar with travelling between the borders?" I ask him

"Growing up I learned to survive, when I shifted I had learned how to defend myself and wanted to see the other territories. So I did. I also wanted to learn more about my family." He tells me.

"Did you find what you were looking for?" I ask him again.

"Yes. I did." He answers but doesn't say more.

"That's good," I say, and he doesn't answer.

"I don't know if it is. I found out more than I needed to know, more than I knew what to do with. So I let it go, lived my life as a stray, stayed out of trouble with the territories the best I could, and then went on with my life. I didn't want my past to haunt me."

I wonder what he means about that, and I am just about to answer when he points in front of us to the signs saying Albinia, borders. No guards cross at own risk, Hail Alpha Carlos. The last one had a glow, which knew all too well. It was hidden by magic so only wolves could see it.

"We there," I whisper. And we hurry into the town and walk through it and out of

the second territory, and I feel a tense leave my shoulder
