Alpha's Second Chance

ROSE

We have been walking for the past four to five hours, and we have used the time to get to know each other. Like me, Enzo likes music and also just sometimes a quiet place with a good book. We continued our talk, but Enzi suddenly pulled me to the side of the road, into the high grass, and motioned for me to be silent.

Then I heard them, paws, but also human footsteps, and then then they started talking.

"What seems to be the issue." A dark voice said.

"Alpha, two wolves were killed yesterday, they were found in an alley. Another made it away but is badly wounded." The one said, and we now know the first one is Alpha Carlos, shit.

"Did he say who it was?" The Alpha asked.

"He said they met a stranger, a girl, and he said she smelled like a wolf, but she didn't seem to have one. So they decided to have a little "fun" with her, as she was mateless. Out of nowhere, a wolf attacked, killed his two friends, and he ran," the other wolf said.

"You said he was badly hurt, but by whom? The wolf?" The Alpha asks.

"By the girl, Alpha." He answers, and the Alpha laughs, which is dark laughter.

"Well, it now makes sense why I had a very angry King on my phone this morning. I agreed to let his daughter get unharmed through my territory. And the idiots attacked her. Who the wolf is, I do not know, and I don't care. Bury the idiots and give the last one a warning." Alpha Carlos says coldly.

"And what about the girl and the wolf?" The wolf asks.

"Leave them be, I can not afford a war with the king from America, the other Alphas would join." Alpha Carlos says.

"Yes, Alpha." The wolf says sounding disappointed.

"And let other idiots know that if they begin to search for them, they will be punished,” Alpha Carlos says.

"Yes, Alpha."

"And do not call me again because of someone's stupidity." Alpha Carlos sneers and they go silent.

After a little while, we hear them walk away in each direction, but Enzo keeps us hidden for a little longer. When he is sure we are safe, he helps me up.

"That was close." He says.

"Was that?" I ask, and he nods his head.

"Why didn't he smell us?" I asked, confused that we avoided them so easily.

"I am not sure, but there are rumors that his senses are not very good. I don't know why, but it seems like the rumors are true," Enzo says, and I nod my head. "We need to get out of here soon," he says, and I agree. This territory isn't a nice place to be.

Enzo takes my hand, and we start walking. We don't stop until we reach Massa. He leads me to the part of the town that is mostly humans and finds a small hotel where we will stay for the night.

ENZO

It is not good that Alpha Carlos has become aware of our presence. So when we get to Massa, I Lead Rose to the human part. The chance they will look for us there is smaller. We get one room with two beds need to be close tonight.

"You sleep, I'll stay guard," I tell her she looks at me.

"Enzo, we only have a chance to sleep for about three and a half hours. You need sleep," she says.

"I will sleep on the train when we get on it, so rest," I tell her, and she nods her head.

I see her lying down, and it doesn't

take long before she is sleeping. She isn't in the other bed, up against the wall, resting, but awake. And thank God everything seems to be quiet, and when it's almost time, I gently wake her up.

“Beautiful. You need to wake up." I whisper as I sit on her bed.noveldrama

"Hmmm." She says as she wakes up.

"The train leaves in little over an hour. We have to go." I told her, and she woke up right away.

"Good morning." She says and smiles.

"Morning, Beautiful," I answer and smile when I see her blush.

I watch her get ready, and then we

leave. It is still early, so the humans running the hotel aren't awake. So k left a note saying thank you and some money, and then we left and went to the train station. When we arrived, we bought some food from the open station store, and we went to find our train.

It doesn't take long before it comes, and we get on and find our seats. As we sit down, we see a young woman with two small girls, who, from their scents, are wolves.

"Rest, Enzo. You are tired," Rose says, and she is right; I am.

"Okay, wake me if there is something," I say and kiss her before leaning back and falling asleep.

I wake up from a bump on the train, turn my head to look at Rose, and am surprised. She is not in her seat. But sitting on the other side next to one of the small girls, I can see she sharing her good with them.

I don't say anything but just watch her interact with the pups and their mom, and I

hear the mom thank her.

"No need to thank me. I couldn't just let them stay hungry." Rose says.

"It all went so fast, I didn't think about food." The mom says.

"It is okay. Where are you going?" Rose asks.

"To the south, I have family there, I needed to save them." The mom answers and

looks at the two girls. Rose doesn't answer but just takes her hand.

"He was mad, mad I didn't give him sons. He took my newborn, and he." She doesn't finish the sentence.

"I'm so sorry," Rose tells her.

"You are doing the right thing, protecting your girls. Rose tells the mom, and she nods her head.

Rose looked over at me and saw that I was awake. She smiled and came back and told me they were hungry, and I just kissed her.

"You are amazing," I whisper, and she blushes again.
