We lay here for what feels like hours. None of us are saying anything; we just lay here looking at each other. But den, he smiled and moved a little so he could better look at me.

"You want to live in America with your family." He says this not as a question but as a statement

"I do. Sorry." I whisper, but he just smiles.

"Don't be sorry. I don't mind moving. I have no family here that holds me back, and we can always come back to visit. All I ask is that I can still train," he says.

"My dad let everyone who wants to train do it. He will be happy that you want to train." I tell him.

"Good, and I do not expect some high rank just because I am your mate." He says.

"I know, and that I will leave it to my dad to decide," I say.

"Perfect. Anything you want?" He says.

"I want us to get to know each other before we mark and fully mate," I whisper, and he smiles.

"Of course." He says not even blinking.

"And I want to keep training with my mom. She has always been teaching me,

saying it's important I can still protect myself." I say, and he smiles bigger.

"Again, of course, your mom is right. But now I'm confused," he says. "Why?" I ask.

"Are you not here to find your mom?" He asks.

"My biological mother, yes. She broke my soul as a baby, rejecting me as her child. She might been the one giving birth to me, but she is not my mom. My dad's second chance mate is my mom, and I love her. I know it sounds like a mess." I say, but he just smiles.

"No, it makes perfect sense, but why are you looking for this woman then?" he asks, and it is only fair he knows.

"Growing up, I was always treated well but also always felt a hole inside me. When my dad found my mom, that changed it a little, but when I turned 18 and didn't get my wolf, I felt broken. Packmembers treated me differently, and my first mate rejected me. Only my family still treated me as always. But it made me want to know how Mia could reject and leave a two-month-old baby." I tell him, and he nods his head.

"I think I can understand that. I will be by your side and help you find her," he promises.

"Really? I know it is much to ask for, and I'm not sure it is worth it to keep looking." I say.

"If it helps you to feel better, then yes, I am sure. And I am not letting you alone in this territory, not after last night," he says.

"Thank you for that. By the way, I don't know what would have happened if you had not been there," I say.noveldrama

"You don't need to thank me, and you never have to find out. I won't let anyone hurt you. Promise." He answers, and I smile at him.

"My plan was to make it to Pisa today, but it is almost noon, so I don't know," I say.

"You are going to the southern territory. Right?" He asks.

"Yes, I only go through this to get there.

"Yeah, making it to Pisa will be hard when you don't have a wolf, and asking for a ride can be risky here. L think Massa will be a better choice today. It is around halfway, and it is a human town, so the chance of trouble there is smaller." He Says. And he sounds so sure I have no doubt about what he says.

"That sounds good. I trust that you know." I say.

"Tomorrow, we could take the train to Grosseto instead of going to Pisa, and then we would not be far from the borders," he suggested, and it didn't sound like a bad idea.

"I like that idea," I say, and he nods.

"From Grosseto, we can go to Fonteblanda, the last coast city in this territory. And we can go there after getting off the train if we take an early train, but then we can be out of this territory the day after." He tells me.

"So, what do you say? We can be in the South the day after tomorrow," I ask.

"That is what I say. Yes." He says.

"Then that is what we do. The faster we out of here the better, I don't like it here." I admit.

"Not many wolves from outside this territory do." He says, and I nod my head.

I get out of the bed and get the rest

of my clothes on, then my shoes, and I notice that Enzo is just still lying there looking at me, and I blush, which makes him chuckle. When was ready, we left, but not before Enzo found a small bakery that sold sandwiches and bought us some.

We walked out of the town, and for a while, we did not speak for a long time, but then he started asking about my family. I told him about how my dad and mom met and how she had shown me love since she met me, even before she knew dad was her mate. How she risked her life to save me when I was a child and always had protected me ever since. I also told him about my dad, my amazing dad, who did everything to be the best parent, not just to me but to Noah, Nora, and Nadia.

I also told him about my overprotective younger brother, who is always getting into trouble. And last, about my sweet sisters, the real troublemakers in the family. But

I love them all. They are my family, and I'll always fight for them.

He smiled at that and told me that he looked forward to meeting them all. He took

my hand in his as we walked. It made me feel shy and also sort of giddy, as the sparks felt so good.
