"I've been wanting to repay Luther for his kindness after I woke up from the accident. So, I decided to work at his company as a manager," Pearl said.

Richard looked pensive upon hearing this.

Before Pearl lost her memories, Luther clearly wanted her to be more than just an employee;

Noticing Richard's troubled expression, Pearl grew concerned. "Is something wrong? Do you feel okay?"

"I'm fine," Richard replied, though he decided to keep his suspicions to himself until he had solid proof.

When they arrived at the company, Richard unusually didn't follow Pearl. After saying goodbye, he walked away.

Watching him leave, Pearl felt an unexpected stare on her.

She turned to find Luther waiting at the company's entrance. Only after entering did she notice his warm smile.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Luther asked, a common enough greeting.

Normally, Pearl would have responded with light conversation. However, Richard's recent warnings made her hesitate, and she found herself unable to reply.

Luther noticed her discomfort. "Do you dislike me now?" he asked, sounding gloomy.

Pearl didn't hate him; her mind was just overwhelmed with conflicting thoughts. "No, you're overthinking," she assured him.

Luther gave her a concerned look. "Let's not rush off after work today. I've arranged for someone to pick up Dar. There's a Fireworks Festival in the suburbs tonight. How about we go see it?"

Pearl found it hard to say no to such a thoughtful plan and nodded in agreement.

"I need to start my meeting. I'll see you later," Luther said with a smile before leaving.

Back in her office, Pearl turned on her computer and remembered Richard's warning from the day before.

"Luther has been hiding your information. I couldn't find you no matter how hard I tried. Pearl, he has hidden agendas regarding you and the kid. I hope you'll see his true colors..." She pondered over Luther's possible motives.

Despite her role in the company, Luther never restricted her access to sensitive information, though she had never felt the need to look into it. But today, something urged her to dig deeper.noveldrama

She stumbled upon an encrypted folder. Normally, only certain individuals with the password could access it. Yet, strangely, Pearl felt a familiarity with this type of encryption. Codes and phrases seemed to echo in her mind.

Almost instinctively, she typed on her keyboard and, to her surprise, she managed to unlock the folder after several attempts.
