Chapter 1342 Finding Kingsley
Chapter 1342 Finding Kingsley
The little ones were already waiting in the dining room, all seated in their chairs. A few adults were still waiting for Benjamin and Arissa.
“Hurry up and come eat!” Darius called out to the couple.
“Here we are!” Benjamin responded, striding forward with his long legs. He carried Arissa into the dining room and only after settling her comfortably in her seat did he sit down himself.
He called out to everyone, “Let's all sit down and eat!”
Shaun, Jonathan, Ethen, Jack, and Bradley took their seats one after another.
Darius and Mary were busy arranging things, when Arissa quickly called out to them, “Dad, Grandaunt, Edwin, please take your seats and start eating.”
Darius and Mary responded in agreement, and they all took their seats. Edwin gave a few instructions to the housekeepers, and once everything was arranged, he sat down to join everyone for dinner.
“Come! Let's drink!” Shaun, holding the wine that Jonathan had brought over, already chilled and ready, moved over to Benjamin and filled his glass. “Today, Arissa has been discharged from the hospital, Benjamin. You should celebrate with a few more drinks!”
Arissa looked at Shaun's flattering demeanor, then turned to Benjamin, who remained indifferent, and she couldn't help but laugh.
“Huh? Why haven't I seen Mr. Watts? Isn't he coming?” Suddenly realizing that Kingsley was missing, Arissa was puzzled. Hadn't Shaun informed him earlier?
She looked at Benjamin again. He had just said that everyone had arrived.
Shaun burst into hearty laughter before saying, “Arissa, he won't be able to make it.”
“Is he busy?” Arissa asked in bafflement. Usually, Kingsley is the quickest to show up. I don't see what could keep Kingsley so occupied. Among this group of people, he is the most idle one.
“I guess Kingsley is probably...” Jonathan glanced at Benjamin and laughed. “That's a question for Benjamin!”
Arissa turned her head to look at Benjamin, her curiosity piqued. “Did you ask Kingsley to do something for you?”
Benjamin met her curious gaze, lightly tapped her forehead, and said in a soft voice, “Let's eat. Don't mind him!”
We're all having a gathering, but they didn't invite Kingsley. Is this appropriate? Arissa pouted, muttering to herself, “Work can always be done later. It would be better to invite him over for a meal!”
She bumped Benjamin's arm, instructing him, “Call him over now!”
Shaun found the couple amusing, watching them with a smile. Ethen, Bradley, and Jack were silent, not daring to make a sound.
“Why is he so busy? Why not invite Kingsley over for dinner, just as your wife suggested?” Darius also urged Benjamin.
“He's not in Dellmoor!” Benjamin answered. If I don't give them an answer, they'll never stop asking.
Shaun couldn't help but laugh. He decided to be straightforward with Arissa, so he said, “Arissa, the truth is, Kingsley was actually trying to avoid Benjamin, but he was discovered. As a result, he was sent even further away.”
Arissa was utterly shocked, and she looked at Benjamin. This man actually claimed he was helping Kingsley when it was clearly a punishment.
With a slight lift of his eyes, Benjamin stared at her intently and said, “That's right. He has gone to do something for me!”
There was a project over there, and Kingsley couldn't return to Dellmoor until it was completed.
Arissa wasn't sure whether to believe it or not. A twitch tugged at the corner of her mouth as she turned her head. She then warmly invited everyone to start the meal. “Let's eat then. I thought Kingsley was in Dellmoor!”
Shaun had filled everyone's glasses with wine, both the adults and the elderly. For Arissa, it was juice.
Kingsley was not around, so Shaun took on the role of setting the mood, taking the lead by raising his glass and calling out cheerfully, “Come! Let's toast to celebrate Arissa's discharge from the hospital and Old Mr. Graham's robust health!”
“Cheers!”
“Cheers!”
“Cheers!”
“Wishing Old Mr. Graham and Mrs. Graham good health!”
Everyone kept pace, each lifting their own wine glass in front of them. The little ones were overjoyed, raising their own juice glasses and standing up to clink glasses with everyone.
“Wishing Mommy and Grandpa good health, and wishing everyone good health!”
“Haha!”
Upon hearing the soft, adorable voices of the kids, the adults couldn't help but chuckle. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
