True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2201

Chapter 2201

Sylvia was sharp, so she immediately understood the meaning behind Kendrix's words.

That was why she asked that question.

"Yes," Kendrix replied with a faint smile on his face.

"What about in the future?" She wanted to know if she was a part of his future plans.

Kendrix was slightly stunned to hear her question. He couldn't help but smile.

"In the future?" He pretended to give it some thought and was not in a hurry to explain things to her. Instead, he just gave a simple answer, "I haven't thought so far."

So he didn't have any plans for the future?

"What about for the next few years?" Sylvia felt bad that she was questioning him, but she had no choice. Since he didn't really tell her anything, she had no choice but to ask him directly.

She failed to adjust her tone and expression, which caused her to sound solemn. She didn't look at him either since her face was still pretty red. Kendrix decided to stop teasing Sylvia, or she would be mad.

It seemed that she was still a child as her emotions were written on her face.

Kendrix's eyes were filled with amusement as he told her, "I am planning to return to my original unit to work for now. Currently, my future plan is to wait for you to graduate high school and for you to decide which city you want to live in. Only then will I decide what to do."

Sylvia was stunned. She looked up towards the man beside her.

There was a faint smile on his handsome face. It was as if he had seen through her thoughts and knew her worries.

She lowered her head, feeling a little embarrassed.

It turned out that she was already part of his plans for the future.

Sylvia looked down and mumbled, "Sorry. I shouldn't have doubted you."

"Well, that's for sure." Kendrix nodded as he tightened his grip on her hand. He then asked her, "Have you ever thought about where you want to go for college?"

She shook her head, "I haven't thought about it yet."

"Will you go abroad?" He asked casually.

Sylvia seemed to have understood something, and her hand stiffened while in his. She immediately shook her head and comforted him, "I won't go abroad."

Kendrix smiled, but there was still another emotion lingering in his eyes.

The children of the Jones family had all gone abroad for college. For instance, both Gary and Ernest went to the top universities in the world. Sebastian and Sylvia would probably go abroad too. Heinz was a man who wanted the best for his children, so it was unlikely that he wouldn't send his children abroad for further education.

Moreover, Kendrix was very clear that the Jones family had estates abroad. No matter which university they went to, they would receive a good education there.

Although Sylvia said she didn't want to go abroad to further her studies, she couldn't change Heinz's mind.

He was a little worried.

He was concerned that if she didn't go abroad, it would affect her future.

At the same time, he didn't want her so far away since he was a selfish man.

Since he liked her, he wanted the best for her. Therefore, the better choice was to let her further her studies abroad.

In fact, studying abroad was not only about gaining knowledge, but also gaining the necessary life experience.

It didn't mean that the local universities weren't good. On the contrary, some of the universities here were very advanced.

However, one could gain different insights if they ventured out of their comfort zone. Only then would they be able to experience different sights and become a better and more matured person.

Kendrix smiled and said, "If your parents ask you to study abroad or if you consider studying abroad, just go ahead."

Stunned for a second, Sylvia grabbed his hand harder, asking in dismay, "Do you really want me to study abroad?" Despite Sylvia gripping his hand tighter, Kendrix didn't seem fazed at all.

As he drove with one hand on the steering wheel, he paid no attention to her and just focused on the road in front of him. This didn't go unnoticed. Sylvia realized that Kendrix didn't seem to care that much.

An unspeakable sadness rose in her heart.

Her mood darkened almost instantly.

In fact, Sylvia had once aspired to study abroad just like Gary, Ernest, Lowell, and Celeste. She wanted to be like them.

It seemed that everyone in her family was expecting her and Sebastian to study abroad behind Gary and Ernest's footsteps.

Before she met Kendrix, she did not oppose the idea of going abroad. However, everything changed after meeting him. She no longer wanted to study abroad.

For her, going abroad meant that she would be away from him for very long.

The barrier of time and space would be a great test to their relationship.

After a moment of silence, Kendrix thought it was necessary to make his point.

"Sylvia," He said in all seriousness, "In fact, as your unofficial boyfriend, I don't want you to be so far away from me. But if I truly like you, I would want you to go abroad and make choices that suit you and your future."

"But I don't necessarily need to go abroad to become a better person," Sylvia argued, "I don't want to go anyways."

She wanted to be with him. And going to a local college would allow her to see him anytime she

wanted.

Once she went abroad, it would not be so convenient to go back and forth just to meet him.

"There is still a long time for you to think about it," Kendrix smiled. He held her hand tighter and a while later, let her hand go. Then, he patted the back of her hand and comforted her, "Your future is also important."

"No matter how important my future is, it's not as important as you," Sylvia blurted.

Kendrix was stunned and sighed,

"You are still young. When you grow up, you will understand what I have said. A person's life is not only about love. There are also other things to consider, such as interests and a sense of accomplishment. These are indispensable experiences in life."

Love was not what defined one's life.

Sylvia was shocked. She fell silent for quite some time.

She understood his words and the fact that he was concerned about her. However, could it mean she wasn't so important in his heart?

She stopped talking.

For the rest of the journey home, no one said anything.

The car soon arrived at the door of the Jones family mansion, but Sebastian and Claudia had not arrived.

Kendrix parked the car by the road and sent a message to Claudia asking her where she was.

Claudia did not reply.

He sent another message to her asking her to reply to his message quickly. He was even planning to call her if she didn't respond to him.

In the meantime, he waited with Sylvia in the car.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Sylvia looked around. She found it strange that Sebastian and Claudia were not by the gates of her home yet.

Although she didn't want to separate from Kendrix, she felt a little strange sitting in the car at the side of the road in silence.

She pursed her lips and decided to cast a glance at him.

Kendrix was still looking ahead, showing off the soft outline of his jawline.

Suddenly, he turned to look at her.

Their eyes met.

Almost instantly, Kendrix's handsomeness made Sylvia's heart pound again.

She had to admit that he was really good-looking. No matter what angle she looked at him from, he was perfect.

It was as though every time she looked at him, she would learn something new.

"Claudia hasn't replied to my message. Maybe it's not that convenient for her to talk. Let's wait here for a while," Kendrix said.

"I see!" Sylvia nodded and just stared at him for as long as she could.

Her eyes moved from his eyes to his nose and then to his supple lips.

The minute she looked at his lips, Sylvia couldn't help but blush once more. The memory of the passionate kiss they shared made her feel flustered. Kendrix narrowed his eyes upon noticing Sylvia's emotions. He smirked.

He reached out again and grabbed her hand.

Sylvia pursed her lips. She was not in a hurry to express her position on the topic just now. Now, she felt it was necessary to make it clear before they

parted that night.

Therefore, she gathered the courage

to say, "Although I know that you're concerned about my future, I don't think studying abroad suits me. My family doesn't have high requirements for my studies."

The meaning in her words were clear: she didn't want to go abroad.

There was a smile on Kendrix's face and his dark eyes were full of tenderness. He gazed at her and muttered, "Think about it. You still have time."

Sylvia just pouted. She was confused.

She didn't understand why he insisted on letting her go abroad.

"There is no need to think about it. My decision will be the same. I won't go abroad to study. I've already decided long ago. I don't need to be recognized by an overseas college," She insisted.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"I'm sure," Sylvia nodded as if she was worried that Kendrix would try to persuade her further. She emphasized again in all seriousness, "I'm very

sure."

"Alright then," Kendrix smiled and patted her head, "You're capable of making your own decisions."

Sylvia's cheeks were red as she smiled in the passenger seat. Then, she looked up and found that Sebastian and Claudia weren't here yet.

Since Sebastian and Claudia had not returned, she could stay with Kendrix for a while longer.

She was glad he agreed she could make her own decisions.

If she couldn't, how would she have the courage to confess to him?

If she didn't confess, how could she win his favor?

The thought of it made her gleeful.

Then, she burst into laughter, "I don't regret being able to make my own decisions."

Kendrix stared at the laughter lingering on Sylvia's face and chuckled, "That's true."

Sylvia looked up into Kendrix's eyes while still giggling, "So don't try to persuade me. I said I don't intend to go abroad, and I mean it."

She was worried that he might still persuade her again under the guise that it was for the sake of her future. Hence, she wanted to make it clear.

Kendrix smiled, "Okay."
