True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2006

Chapter 2006

Celeste did not reject Gary, nor did she expect him to take it a step further.

Somehow, she was sure of it.

Therefore, she looked at him as calm as ever.

Was it his fault for all that happened?

No, it wasn't.

She didn't think he was to be blamed as they had broken up that time.

She could imagine how depressed he was and why he went drinking. It just so happened that Janice was with him and so... everything happened. She sighed. How funny life was.

Suddenly, Cindy and Sinclair appeared in her mind at the same time.

Those two had always been so open-minded when it came to relationships.

They were the kind who were adventurous in love. They could love more than one.

But why couldn't she be like them?

She was too straightlaced.

It was hard for her to let go and to seem like she didn't care.

When in truth, she cared too much about it that it bothered her.

Celeste knew she couldn't blame Gary, but she couldn't get rid of that discomfort in her heart. It was growing stronger and stronger, and she was on the verge of a breakdown.

What was wrong with her?

Her jealousy was consuming her to the point she couldn't even think.

They were facing each other but no one spoke.

In the few minutes of silence, their gazes met. Even if they did not say a word, their feelings were obvious.

They had so much they wanted to say but no one knew where to begin.

Gary felt a pang of melancholy.

"Celeste," he called out to her, breaking the silence between them. "Do you have something to say to me?"

Stunned, Celeste shook her head and said, "No, but can you go out? I want to wash up for bed."

After all, she still had not figured out how to talk about this matter. She knew it might be the end of their relationship if she brought it up. Meanwhile, her body was feeling much better and she could feel her legs already.

However, he stood still as if he had no intention of leaving.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

She had no choice but to reach out to push him away, wanting to get off the sink top. But he stood where he was.

Gary reached out and pulled Celeste into his arms. He held her tightly so that she could not escape.

Laying on his chest, she inhaled his scent and felt his warmth.

Her heart was still in pain, so she continued to push him. But no matter how hard she struggled, she could not break free.

In the quiet room with only the two of them, she gritted her teeth and shouted, "Let go of me!"

He remained close to her. Her tiny body was so soft and it was emitting a sweet scent.

For a moment, he couldn't get enough of her scent.

He just couldn't part with her.

He couldn't bear to.

Gary refused to let Celeste beat herself up for something she did not do. She was being too quiet and distant.

They were so close physically but there also seemed like there was a tremendous gap between them.

How could he accept that?

He couldn't be without her. Like mad, he clung to her and whispered into her ear, "I can't stand you ignoring me. I feel like dying."

She was stunned but she tried to appear calm.

She whispered back, "I am not ignoring you. I was just in a bad mood."

"I know. It must be because of me." He laughed, "I made you feel unappreciated and gave you so many empty promises. I have so many flaws. But I want everything that is best for you. Do you believe me?"

"I do." She replied without any hesitation. "I trust you, even if you did something wrong. I know that was not your fault."

Gary was stunned.

He couldn't believe his ears as he held Celeste's waist. He then lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes.

"Do you really believe me?" he asked uncertainly.

She nodded.

He let out a wry smile.

She believed him but look at what he had done.

He should be the one who couldn't face her.

He avoided her eyes and did not dare to look at her anymore.

What right did he have to ask her to forgive him?

He did not say anything more.

After a long while, Gary forced a smile and said, "I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize." Celeste shook her head and said softly, "There is no right or wrong."

His face froze. She said it in a roundabout way but he understood what she meant.

Subsequently, his heart sank. It was like he was falling into an abyss.

He hugged her as his hands trembled.

He was afraid of losing her.

In his embrace, she did not move.

At that moment, she felt an unspeakable sadness welling up in her.

"Celeste," Gary spoke in a muffled voice. His gaze and expression were both saying that he was in pain. He could not help but clench Celeste's hand tightly. It was a long while later before he said, "I'll leave so you can wash up."

"Okay," she responded with a clear, serene gaze.

With that, he let go of her.

Before he went out, he gazed into her eyes. Seeing how calm she was, he smiled and left even though his face was as pale as a sheet of

He stood outside the washroom, leaning against the door.

After a while, he heard the sound of running water from inside.

In Gary's opinion, Celeste was so strong, despite her weak appearance.

She was so tiny and frail- looking but she kept putting on such a brave face.

He wanted to take her but he knew he was not worthy of her now.

He was disgusted with himself and he laughed bitterly.

How could he wish to be intimate with her when he didn't deserve her?

She stayed inside the bathroom for half an hour while he waited patiently outside her door.

Celeste was stunned to see him as、 soon as she opened the door.

Gary wanted to say something but he found that he couldn't say anything. He couldn't speak a word.

His lips moved but nothing came out. Eventually, he nodded and entered the bathroom.

When he came out, she was on the bed with her back facing him.

The lamp on the side table was switched on but he knew that she didn't want to speak to him.

He stood there as a great wrench of sadness overcame him.

He walked over, wiped himself dry, and changed into his pajamas. Then, he got into bed.

She did not turn to face him or say anything to him.

After a moment of hesitation, he scooted over towards her.

Celeste's body stiffened at Gary's hug. She wanted to escape but she gave in and leaned into his embrace.

He felt comforted and did not move. He did nothing more than embrace her. "Sleep tight," he whispered.

She didn't say anything but she didn't move away.

Just like that, he hugged her in his arms. Both of them were in turmoil with their feelings.

Both of them remained in silence.

He thought of confessing everything.

But how was he to explain?

He could not remember a thing from that night but there was proof that Janice was pregnant with his child. How ironic.

Before they knew it, morning came.

Gary looked at his watch and then at Celeste, who was still in his arms. She had been still and quiet the whole night.

She had always been so mild-tempered.

"Celeste," he called out to her, wanting to tell her everything.

However, she stopped him, "Say nothing."

"No, I can't. I am dying inside and if I don't say it now, you will feel more hurt." With that, he sat up.

She turned to look at him as her long, silky hair scattered on the pillow. She looked just like an angel.

Gary's eyes narrowed but he didn't dare to move.

At this time, Celeste said, "I said, there is no right or wrong. I understand everything, whether you tell or not."
