The Sway and Slide of Love

Noelle had no intention of explaining anything to Hendrix. She simply handed him the medicine and water. "Take it."

Her expression was grim, her tone stiff and cold.

Hendrix stared at her for a moment, then took the pill and water obediently.

Noelle had poured the water without much thought, and just by touching the glass, she could tell it was somewhat cold.

Hendrix obviously felt it, too, but he didn't say a word. He simply took the cup and swallowed the fever medicine.

"Lie down and sleep," Noelle ordered.

But Hendrix kept his eyes on her. "Are you going to leave?"

Noelle wasn't sure if he was fully conscious or still delirious. But when she heard his question, she laughed out of frustration.

"Your buddy, Erwin, has locked the door and taken away my phone. So, how am I supposed to leave? Jump off the balcony?"

Her words came out in a barrage.

Hendrix sat there, his brows furrowed as if he were struggling to process what she was saying. Finally, he seemed to reach a conclusion-she wasn't going anywhere.

Satisfied with that answer, he nodded and lay back down, falling asleep almost immediately.

The fever medicine worked quickly. Within two hours, his temperature had dropped. But Noelle felt no relief.

At that moment, Dylan and Rosie were still at the water park. Noelle was sure they'd be worried if they couldn't find her.

And Erwin's elaborate scheme wasn't just about making her take care of Hendrix. With her out of the way, what would Erwin say to Dylan if he found him?

However, Noelle was underestimating Erwin. In his eyes, Dylan wasn't even worth the effort of manipulation. All Erwin needed to do was answer Dylan's call when he tried to reach Noelle.

"You're looking for Noelle? Sorry. She's unavailable right now."

"Who's this?" Dylan's voice was tense. "Where is Noelle?"

Erwin clicked his tongue impatiently. "Relax. She's perfectly safe. She's with Hendrix right now."

Dylan fell silent.

Erwin smirked and continued, "Hendrix is sick, and Noelle was worried about him, so she went to personally take care of him. As for you, just take care of the little brat for

now. Once Hendrix is better, Noelle will naturally head back."

With that, he hung up.

As expected, Dylan didn't call back.

"Do you really think this will make them get back together?"

Erwin's girlfriend poured him a glass of wine and handed it to him while leaning against his chest. Then, she gazed up at him with big, bright eyes.

Erwin chuckled. "Probably not."

"Then, why—"noveldrama

"But it'll definitely ruin things between her and the other guy," Erwin said.

"How come?" Erwin's girlfriend asked curiously.

Erwin normally wouldn't bother answering such a stupid question, but he was in a good mood. So, after taking a sip of his wine, he finally said, "Because he feels guilty and inferior. He's nowhere near Hendrix's league. Even if Noelle is with him

now, he'll always be any him

"People like him are easy to break. All it takes is a little push to shatter their confidence. Even if nothing actually Kappens between Noelle and Hendrix, the mere suggestion is enough to make him spiral. If you don't believe me, just wait and see."
