The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

55

“Now, tell me, why are you here?” Calvin asked lovingly, nuzzling

“Mommy told me that Grandpa Christian and Grandma Abby, along with Reva, are at Zordy’s house. So, I’m going there with her because she doesn’t know the house of Zordy.” Roselet replied

Calvin’s jaw tightened when he heard this.

“Tell me if anyone misbehaves with you, and don’t dare to lie to me, or wait, let me send Lemi with you,” Calvin said, not trusting those people. Even though they were at Zordan’s place, it wasn’t that Zordan was at his home at this moment.

“Don’t worry, Calvin. Mommy will be with me, and she promised me today that she won’t let anyone hurt me. ANYONE.” Roselet said with a smile and looked at Ethlyn, who was still standing near the door. “Come inside, Mommy. Why are you standing there? The future Alpha of the pack is giving you permission to come in.”

“I’m fine here, dear.” Ethlyn politely refused.

“Oh, okay.” Roselet didn’t force her and looked at Calvin. “Can I go, Daddddddyyyyy? Pleeeeassseee.”

“Sure. Just take of yourself.” Calvin kissed her cheek and let her go with Ethlyn.

‘Alpha, we have bad news.’ Zordan mind linked. ‘We found seven dead bodies of pups who were from our pack with a note from hunters.’All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Calvin quickly shifted and reached the place where Zordan found the body. It was a little away from the pack border. He closed his eyes, seeing the head of the pups hanging with one tree and their bodies nailed to another tree.

‘Game of Death began’ It was written on the trees around them.

“Alpha” Zordan gave a letter to Calvin. Calvin read the letter and fumed in anger, reading it. “What is written inside it?” Since hunters had used some type of herbs or magic because of which, the letter could be read by only that person whose name was written on the top. That was why for other people, it was nothing but a blank page.

“They want to repeat history because by wiping our pack.” Calvin hissed. “Make necessary arrangements for the funeral, Zordan,” Calvin said, not telling the complete truth because it was written in the letter that they wanted Ethlyn or they would repeat the history.

Because the previous night, the hunter whom Ethlyn had killed was the son of the hunter’s son. He demanded Ethlyn, or he would turn the whole pack in the graveyard.

“But what happened all of a sudden, Alpha? You and the hunter’s leader had gone into a peace of treaty. Hadn’t you? Then why do they want war out of nowhere?” Alisha asked, not understanding the sudden change in the situation.

“Because I killed one of his members last night,” Calvin replied because he knew this question would be asked by a lot of pack members. He didn’t want to involve Ethlyn’s name because he knew that pack members would start hating her as for the loss of all the seven pups, but their feeling toward him wouldn’t be the same.

“And you did that to protect that uninvited guest.” Alisha sneered, giving the pack members around them that who was the real culprit behind it.

“Get the work done, Alisha.” Calvin glowed at her. “There are a lot of things that we have to do immediately rather than wasting time in thinking about the things that have been already done,” he added. “The first thing is to increase the security of the pack border and make sure that no one. I repeat, no one should leave the pack after seven in the evening.”

“Alpha, do your brother can help?” One of the warriors asked.

“No. Involving him in all this mess means adding an enemy because, duties-wise, he is a hunter before my brother. Also, it’s not easy to calm him down after he picks up his sword. He ends up killing everyone. EVERYONE.” Calvin mumbled, recalling how Colton almost got in control of the sword. He almost killed Brandon once, but Sophia controlled him by slapping him hard on his face.

Though no one blamed him for that incident but it was the last day when Colton stayed near any of his family members. He sometimes used to visit everyone and disappear again.

On the other side,

“Rose, dear!! Does your daddy always make up you sit in the lap?” Ethlyn asked Roselet on the way to Zordan’s house because he didn’t use to stay in the pack house.

“Yes. And sometimes, if he doesn’t, then I run into his lap.” Roselet replied with a smile, talking about Calvin. Ethlyn spent the whole day with Roselet after her school, and 95% of the part of the conversation was all about her daddy.

“Oh, okay. And what is your daily routine from morning to night?” She asked, trying to find something against Roselet.

“Daily routine. Hmmm.. Daddy wakes me up after he comes from training with a lot of kisses and loves. He says that I take around half an hour to wake up, but he never gets mad or gets irritated or scolds me for this. Sometimes, he carries me to the washroom and keeps me under the shower.” Roselet giggled.

“What?”

“Yes, it’s so much. Sometimes, he throws me in the pool when I act to sleep for more than half an hour.”

“Moon Goddess!!” Ethlyn exclaimed. “What was he thinking by doing this? To kill you?”

“Chill, Mommy. I have known swimming since I’m two years old.” Roselet laughed, seeing Ethlyn’s reaction. And then she continued again, “Daddy can never think of hurting me. NEVER.”

“I’m glad that your daddy loves you that much,” Ethlyn mumbled with a fake smile, still not ready to accept that Calvin was really that good person.
