UN MIRACLE….
-Why do you say that? -Amber asked Michelle Fontain, whose father is Christopher’s partner, intrigued.
-I heard Christopher talking to someone on his cell phone, apparently he was hiring him to beat you up,” she said, “Please take care of yourself! I wouldn’t want anything to happen to you. Believe it or not, I have always been very fond of you,” Michelle lied.
Anyway, Amber couldn’t figure out what to make of this one, she never trusted him. As a woman, she knew that she liked Christopher. At that moment, she began to remember that the women who beat her, yelled at her….
“So that you don’t betray. That’s what we were paid for, so that you don’t steal information,” she reflected, remembering that only she and Christopher knew what had happened in that hotel room.
The day of the trial
Christopher’s lawyers presented two witnesses whom Amber did not know. They testified that they saw and heard her give information to Dylan. In their testimony, the information matched that contained in the emails she allegedly sent.
Incidentally, if there was a strong confrontation between Amber and the witnesses, she did not manage to disprove or dismiss their testimony. For this reason, their statements remained as valid evidence. Even though Dylan, when promoted as a witness, denied everything.
However, his statement was questioned because when he was asked if he was interested in the process, he made it evident that he had feelings for her. This was the answer used by Christopher’s lawyer to cross out his testimony as valid because he had a love interest in her.
In addition to this, the accuser’s attorney presented a statement of Amber’s bank account, where the payment for the amount indicated by the two witnesses was evidenced, and which she did not know how to justify, since she did not know its origin.
Finally, it was proven that the two witnesses were former employees of Dylan’s company. By virtue of this, the judge accepted their statements as valid and sentenced Amber to two years in prison.
A week later, she listened to this decision without flinching, but as she rose from her chair and passed Christopher, she sentenced him.
-I promise you, this will not stand! You will pay for all the damage you have done to me! I swear!…” she sighed, looking at him with hatred, because if she was sure of anything, it was that with the same intensity she loved him, now she hated him.
In the women’s prison
Amber received a lesser sentence, as a conviction in view of the fact that she had no previous record of any kind, besides being an outstanding law student with a good academic average. She was transferred to prison on the same day of her sentencing. In this process, even though she is not yet a lawyer, she knows that there were many flaws.
When she arrived at the prison, overcoming what she experienced in the prison, she contacted the educational area to finish her law studies, besides joining one of the socio-productive units of the women’s prison, to keep herself busy.
She also joined the sports activities that took place in the prison, participating in karate, which she has mastered so far. This is how, with her dedication and persistence, she managed to achieve her black belt.
She knew that to survive in prison, she should not show fear or cowardice, which is why she began to transform her character and to manage to conceal and hide her true feelings and emotions.
At Christopher’s Penthouse
That oath made by Amber, with her look loaded with hatred and contempt towards him, did not let him sleep. It had been a month since she had been condemned. Christopher, on the balcony of his Penthouse, having a few drinks, reflected on what he experienced during the last few weeks.
“It’s been a painful time, first finding out she betrayed me with Dylan. Second, learning that she stole information for him. Third, calling off the wedding and finally, finding out she was pregnant and hadn’t even told me, it sure wasn’t mine” he thought, distraught.
“It’s been one misfortune after another and all as a consequence of one ill-fated day,” he reflected, feeling dejected and disgruntled.
“Whose baby would she have lost? Why was she beaten on the very day of her arrival?” he mentally asked himself, closing his eyes, reliving the last night they spent together and letting his tears flow silently.
This one, from the rage and pain he felt for her betrayal, threw the glass he held in his hand hard, against the wall of the terrace and stifled a cry of pain. It worried him, the loss of his baby, because after the first few days he made her his, neither of them cared for each other.
“So it might as well be mine,” he mused, shaking his head. However, he immediately rejected this thought because if she had, she would have told him, there was a reason she kept quiet about it. For that reason, he would make it a point to forget her.
The next day, he gave the order to his lawyers to evict Amber’s mother from the apartment. It belonged to him and he had assigned it to live with his daughter while they were getting married. Moreover, he had always considered giving it to her on their wedding day.
Two days after giving this order, the lawyers proceeded with a judge and his staff to evict the property. Therefore, her personal belongings were thrown into the street. In view of this, Genesis put her up in her house.
For this reason, Amber’s mother became ill with tension and nerves. She faced, from this moment on, strong crises that resulted in her being hospitalized. All this happened while Amber was serving her sentence, which developed in her a strong thirst for revenge against Christopher.
One year later
Amber finished her law studies, receiving her law degree at the same prison. She did her best, because when she got out she had to work hard to get her mother ahead, besides carrying out her revenge against Christopher, because she will never forgive him for having lost her son, because of him.
“As soon as I get out of here, I will exercise my career, to take revenge on all those who hurt me so much” Amber thought, with resentment.
“And you, Christopher, will be the first on this list”, she reasoned, holding her degree in her hands, which she handed to the principal, for safekeeping until the day she is released.
She even helped as an intern in the review of cases to obtain benefits enshrined in the laws of Santiago de Leon. All this made it possible for her stay in jail to be shortened to eighteen months.
A few days later, she was requested by the Director of the prison. She stopped doing the task she had been assigned and went to the Director’s office, accompanied by a guard.
-Amber, this is for you!… you got it from the Court -commented the Director of the prison, with a wide smile and who had become very fond of her, becoming her protector inside the same enclosure.
-Thank you, thank you! -Amber exclaimed, raising her hands upwards in prayer, towards the ceiling, “You heard me, you heard me! -She repeated, all excited, reading the communicated, “Jesus of Mercy, He heard me! At last, I’m free! God made me a miracle!
-Yes, Amber, besides your excellent behavior, your faith helped you,” confirmed the Director of the prison.
-When can I leave? -She asked, smiling at the Director, grateful to her, because she knew that she had sent a magnificent report about her behavior in the prison. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
-Today! -replied the director.
-Thank you too! You have been extraordinary with me,” said Amber.
-Call your mom, so she can come and get you. And I’ll always be here, at your service,” she answered.
-Thank you, Brenda! I am infinitely grateful for everything you did for me. All this was an apprenticeship, I hope I learned my lesson well,” raising the thumb of her two hands.
-Sure, Amber! Now, show how good you are, I would love to see you walk through that door, where you walk out today, exercising and doing justice, for those who have been victims of some injustice.
-Thank you! I will,” she assured.
-Here, this is your ticket to freedom! -Said the Director, approaching her to give her a hug goodbye…
