The Last Ceo’s Deal

Chapter 42: Let me distract you

CHAPTER 42.

Christine’s Pov

“I wasn’t cheating on you.” I’m shaking my head in pure disbelief.

“It sure looked like it to me.” He whines sullenly.

This is so unlike him. He is weirding out on me.

“Fanuel, drop that silly charade now. I thought it was you behind me.”

He snorts. “I’m sure you did.”

“I mean it. I didn’t know it was one of the guests.”

He turns to look at me then.

“He wasn’t one of our guests.”

“So you know him?”

“Maybe.”

“Who is he?”

“It doesn’t matter Christine. What you should endeavour to remember is that you should avoid that man. I can assure you that you won’t be running into him often but it’s your life mission to stay away from him.”

“Fanuel, if the guy poses any sort of danger towards me, you should probably let me know. The more informed I am, the better for everyone.”

“Drop it. I’ll make sure you won’t run into him again.”

I’m sure that Fanuel is hiding something but then he never tells me anything.

“This marriage is going to be shit if you’re planning on keeping secrets.”

He looks at me over. “I’m tired and my head is aching. I just want to get on that jet and go to sleep.”

Oh well, he is avoiding me very deliberately. He knows that guy. What was that all about?

Instead of pestering him, I lean back on the headrest and peek at him from underneath my lashes.

“Jet?” I ask casually while looking him over.

“That’s what I said.” He snaps.

“You own a jet?” I ask in disapproval. This guy is a nutcase. A fucking private jet!?

He gives me that ‘shut the fuck up’ look and I roll my eyes before I focus on the roof.

We get to the airport in record time and I’m surprised when Kol drives through a private security gate. He stops a few yards inside and Fanuel rolls down his window. A guard gives him a small salute then nods at me.

“Congratulations Mr and Mrs Fanuel.”

Mrs Fanuel?

Oh well, I better get used to the name. I have to admit though, that the name has a nice ring to it.

Kol drives right through then turns on the tarmac, the car coming to a halt right next to the magnificent plane.

Fanuel’s jet.

He is beaming at me when I turn to stare at him.

“You like it?” He asks with a smirk.

I roll my eyes. Men and their toys.

“I know nothing about jets so maybe we should get this done with.” I reply while yawning.

He bursts out laughing. “Am I really that boring? It’s been like an hour since we got married.”

“Yeah you are that boring. I can’t imagine how I’m going to stand you for a whole year.”

His mood seems to have brightened.

“You’re really becoming fíerce these days, what’s the sécret?”

“I don’t want to give you the privilege of calling me a crybaby” I smirked at him.

He’s really right, I’ve been acting more feisty and daring with him and he seems not to complain. I snap at him, yell at him and ask him daring questions that aren’t my business.

Maybe I’m doing all of these cause I don’t know what would befall once I’m stuck at home with him. Maybe the wolf he’s being hiding will unleash it’s terror and he would go back to the Fanuel I met, as for now;let me enjoy my feistiness with him.

“Too bad you are stuck with me huh?” He asks cockily and I shake my head.

“Don’t rub it on my face. It’s already bad as it is.”

He snorts before he opens his door and steps out of the car. I watch through the window as he goes up the steps of the aircraft, Kol walking behind him.

I seize that alone- moment to think. The day has been a real turmoil. It’s just a wonder that we are still alive. There were so many chances we could have killed each other but we persevered.

Well, I guess that Fanuel is decent enough when he is not getting on my nerves. He is somehow overprotective which absolutely confuses me but on the other hand, it makes me feel secure.. Protected and absolutely safe.

I have no idea what plans he has for our honeymoon but I really don’t care. I’m not planning on spending time with him anyway. I will stay indoors and read my collection of books…

Holy shit. I didn’t pack any books.

Oh, wait.. I. didn’t pack anything at all. I don’t have clothes. What the hell am I going to wear?

My door is opened and Seth stands there looking at me. I blush slightly when our eyes meet and he chuckles.

“I didn’t pack anything. You should have told me we were leaving. ” I say while staring at his chest, deliberately avoiding his eyes.

Damn, he looks perfect in a suit. His chest is so broad and I bite my lip, trying to push away any stray thoughts..

“Don’t worry about clothes. Your friends shopped and packed for you while you were napping yesterday.”

“Oh.. wait.. Diana packed for me?”

“Nope, Laurel.”

“That can’t be good.”

He frowns. “Why? She’s your best friend, right? I figured you’d like it better if she did that for you. I thought you didn’t like Sherry…”

He looks somehow nervous.. Maybe it’s because he thinks he disappointed me?

I know; wishful thinking.

“I’m fine with Laurel packing but I know that whatever she packed can’t be good at all. She is a pervert Fanuel and I won’t find a decent piece of clothing there.”

He grins.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Seems like I’m going to have a lot of fun then.”

“You wish. ” I yell in his face.

“You’ll go shopping if you don’t like what she got for you. Better?”

“Yeah thanks.”

“Don’t mention it. What are spouses for?”

I shake my head with mock disgust as he holds the hem of my champagne soaked gown and helps me out of the car. He wraps an arm around my waist as we walk up the steps into the plane.

This guy is strangely good today.

A tall guy in uniform moves to shake my hand.

“Congratulations Mrs Fanuel. Welcome aboard. I am your captain for today.”

“It’s Christine please.”

Fanuel turns sharply to face me.

“What did you say?”

Okay. I just pulled the wrong strings again. He is furious.

“I said my name is Christine, all those protocols are just fallacies.”

He lifts that daring eyebrow.

“I see. Come with me.”

He leads me to the comfortable double seats and we sit there right next to each other while the pilot and copilot move to the cockpit.

I snap my fingers and keep my eyes on the window and I am very aware of his gaze on me.

“Buckle up.” He orders and I do as instructed , struggling a bit with the harness. I feel so nervous seated next to him knowing that he is watching my every move. I have no idea how I’m going to stand him forever.

“Are you going to take up my surname willingly or should I force you into it?” He asks eventually and I swallow dryly before I turn to look at him, just as the plane taxis out on the runway.

“More threats and blackmails?” I ask nonchalantly.

“Maybe.”

“I hate flying.” I say to avoid conversation.

“Oh really?”

“Just the take off and the touch down. It’s kind of bumpy and it totally sets me off.”

I mean it. I’m kind of scared and it always gets my heart racing.

Right in cue, the plane starts its ascent and I close my eyes then grip the sides of my seat tightly.

Immediately, Fanuel’s arm wraps around me and moves me against him. His fingers move delicately over the exposed skin on my shoulder.

“Let me distract you.” He whispers huskily in my ear and before I can react, he tugs my chin up then crushes his lips on mine.
