The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 749

Tessa walked back to her ward with much hatred. Now, she only had one goal in her mind, and that was to finish the surgery and get equipped with thenoveldrama

exoskeleton.

Afterward, she would stir up trouble for Matthew again and make him regret whatever he said today. Tessa wanted to see him kneel and apologize to her for what he did today.

When Rachel was going to exit the elevator, Matthew beat her to it. Never had she thought that she would see Matthew and Tessa meeting coincidentally afterward.

She frowned as she watched them both, and only when Tessa made her leave did she walk up to Matthew. Upon seeing Matthew's darkened expression, Rachel became tongue-tied.

She didn't know what she should say and only spoke up after a moment's thought. "Sorry. I wouldn't have asked you to come if I knew she'd be here today."

Upon hearing that, Matthew's expression became slightly better, and he said, "I'll just treat it as if I've stepped on some dog shit then."

Rachel couldn't help but laugh a little when she heard that. Never had she thought that Matthew would compare his ex-wife to dog shit. But she could understand where Matthew came from because of all the things Tessa had done to him in the past.

Tessa had gone too far and done too much to hurt him.

"Let me take you out for some fun after we're done settling this," Rachel offered. Matthew then nodded. "Sure. Where will we go?"

Upon hearing that, Rachel began to act all mysterious and said, "It's a secret, but I can guarantee you that you'll be happy with it."

They were walking to the department head's office while they chatted, and they soon arrived before a door that was left slightly ajar. Two people were wearing a white coat inside the room, and they were having a chat.

One of them looked to be in his mid-50s-he had a fair complexion and was a chubby man, and even his white coat took on the shape of his round belly. He was sitting behind the desk with a frown on his face.

The other guy appeared to be in his mid-30s, and he was bowing slightly while he listened to the man in his 50s with respect, as if he was listening to his supervisor.

Matthew glanced at the name tag on the man who was sitting down. It read:

"Name: Kayden Garland

"Position: Hospital Director"

Matthew waited for the two men to finish talking and only knocked on the door when the man in his mid-30s seemed to be getting ready to leave.

Kayden took a glance at the door before he spoke casually, "Come in."

Matthew pushed the door open and gestured for Rachel to enter before he did so himself.

When Kayden saw Rachel, he began to scrutinize her from head to toe, sweeping his glances up and down twice. His eyes lingered especially long on Rachel's curvaceous chest and bottom.

Finally, he greeted them with much enthusiasm and stood up as he directed them to the couches on the side.

"You're here to see the department head, right? Come and have a seat first.

"I'm the hospital director, so you can talk to me if you've got any issues, alright? I'll get the department head to come over soon."

Seeing his attitude, Rachel felt a little weirded out and uncomfortable. She heard that Kayden wouldn't even bother himself with the people from the sales department when they came to have a chat with him, so why was he acting so hospitable now?

"Mr. Garland, I'm Rachel Carter from the Wealthwave Group, and I'm here to talk about the matters regarding Silvaris Pharmaceuticals," Rachel introduced herself.

Instantly, Kayden's expression changed, and he pointed at Matthew after he looked at Rachel. "Is he your underling?"

Rachel then smiled and replied, "He's my colleague. We're both here to have a chat with you, Mr. Garland."

Upon hearing that, Kayden's expression turned icy as he asked, "What are you trying to do? Are you gonna ask that man to settle things with force?"

Rachel's expression faltered a little as well. If Kayden had said that when she first took over Wealthwave Group, she wouldn't even be able to understand what he was pointing at.

But now that she had been managing her company for a while, she easily understood the implicit rules present within businesses.

If she wished to use her charms as leverage during their negotiation, she should have gone and met Kayden alone. But if she had brought a male colleague with her, it would mean that they were going to have a strictly professional conversation.

It appeared that Kayden wanted to make some lecherous moves on her.

Rachel stated seriously, "I'm the president of Wealthwave Group, and I'm here to discuss some matters with you."

Kayden curled up the corner of his lips in disdain. "Ah, Wealthwave Group-quite a domineering reputation indeed. But things will take a downturn once the case gets to court. You better think of how serious the consequences are."

Rachel sat back down slowly and crossed her legs elegantly. She then gazed at Kayden with much confidence.

"How serious could it be? At most, it'd just shut down Silvaris Pharmaceuticals. It's just a small pharmaceutical factory—I can afford it."

Kayden was thrown off guard-Rachel didn't seem to appear like what others had perceived her to be. They all said that she was a newbie who didn't know how things worked and was always timid and cautious with her every move.

It wasn't only Kayden who was shocked, but Matthew who was surprised as well. Rachel had changed in the short period of time they hadn't met, and the way she spoke resembled more and more of that of a company president.

There was an obvious hint of confidence and competence in her gaze, and the decisiveness in her voice commanded respect from others. It was as if she wasn't bothered with whatever happened to Silvaris Pharmaceuticals in the future!

Kayden quickly snapped out of his daze, and his face darkened as he said, "Why are you here if you don't care about it? You can just leave now!"
