Standing next to Sebastian, Matthew coaxed, "I'll take you home. I'll make sure no one bothers you."

Really? Cassidy's face lit up with joy, but then it quickly faded. Her expression was filled with hesitation as she was debating whether to come out. After some time, she gingerly emerged from the bushes.

Just when Matthew thought Cassidy would enter the town with him, she suddenly turned and ran away as if she were fleeing for her life. In no time, she was already over 30 feet away.

Matthew sighed and turned to Sebastian. "Let's head into town."

As Sebastian briskly walked into the town, he realized it was quiet around him. When he turned back, he saw Matthew trailing behind about 30 feet away. That gave him the courage to keep going inside the town.

When the people in town saw Sebastian return, they were all taken aback.

Some even leaned in and whispered to him, "Why did you come back, Sebastian? The Shaws have said it loud and clear. If you show your face again, they'll make sure you regret it."

Many townsfolks urged Sebastian to get out, but most just looked at Sebastian indifferently and didn't say a word. Regardless of what anyone said, Sebastian just kept walking into the town.

Soon enough, Sebastian was back at his house. Everything was in shambles with shattered bricks, crumbled walls, and doors that had fallen apart. He had an agonizing look on his face as he had lost his home.

Suddenly, a jumble of footsteps came from afar. Two people were rushing over Sebastian's way with about eight other guys trailing behind them, and it didn't take long for them to reach him.

When Sebastian spotted the two people leading the group, he felt a pang of worry. They were the Shaws, Colton Shaw and Finley Shaw.

The moment Colton spotted Sebastian, he started cursing, "Sebastian Campbell! You bastard! Craig got killed because of you. I swear I'm going to beat you senseless today, or I'm no longer a Shaw."

Just as Colton finished his sentence, Matthew grabbed a brick from the nearby rubble and ran over to Colton, swinging the brick down at him.

Colton took a hit from the brick on his head, and it broke into two. Dust kicked up from the brick and then slowly settled back down. Colton was covered in dust, and blood ran down from his head.

With a baffled expression, he exclaimed, "Y-you actually dared to hit me? Do you have a death wish?"

After saying that, he dropped to the ground with a thud, and his legs started kicking wildly like he was cramping or having muscle spasms. He continued for a while before going completely still.

The scene went totally silent. Finley and the rest of the burly men were stupefied. They were caught off guard by the brutal scene.

Watching the scene unfold, the residents of the town felt their skin crawl. They looked as shocked as if they'd seen a ghost in broad daylight.

Finley snapped back to reality. He leaned down to check if Colton was breathing, only to find out Colton wasn't.

He got so mad that he ground his teeth and yelled, "Who the fuck are you? How dare you kill Colton?"

Matthew bent down to pick up the broken brick. "I even dare to finish you off."

Finley motioned with his hand at the people behind him. "Get him—"

After a bang, Finely only managed to say two words before he suddenly went silent. Matthew swung the two broken bricks from both sides, smashing them onto Finley's temple.

Finley collapsed to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

The rest of the brawny men freaked out and ran off in every direction. In just a few moments, they were nowhere to be seen.

Matthew turned to Sebastian and asked, "Who else in this town has picked on you? Take me to their house. I'll take them out one by one."
