The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 562

Matthew stopped smiling and earnestly said, "I'm serious about going there and taking the formula back."

Rachel furrowed her brows. Matthew didn't seem to realize the gravity of the matter.

Wyatt mentioned that his backer might be an important local figure, which was why he wasn't giving up the formula. Matthew couldn't exactly threaten him with a knife to get the formula.noveldrama

Rachel grumbled in annoyance, "Stop messing around, Matthew. The situation isn't as simple as you think. If you could get the formula by just showing up, Wyatt wouldn't be so haughty."

Realizing Rachel didn't trust him, Matthew responded with a smile. "I got it. I'll head to Arcadia tomorrow to just scope things out. I'll talk to you about it once I'm back."

Even though Matthew said so, he was determined to bring the formula back. He wanted to wrap things up with Rachel's situation so that he could quickly work on completing the task Nicholas had assigned to him.

Among the Eight Medical Sects, Matthew managed to collect the medical literature and tokens from four of the sects.

As for the Thermodra Sect, Matthew had obtained Integrative Medicine. He still needed to search for Infinity Pill Formula, the key item of the sect.

At this point, Matthew was eager to finish his mission and ask Nicholas about Juprus Ring and Juprus Blade. Plus, he also wanted to know why Nicholas had suddenly gone into hiding.

Right then, Matthew had a lot of questions he was dying to have Nicholas answer.

After hearing Matthew's words, Rachel felt a weight lift off her shoulders. "Let's head back to the office."

Matthew shifted his gaze to Rachel's cleavage, and his eyes lit up. "Sounds good. Let's hurry back to the office. Your workplace is really nice. When we get back, I'll give you a massage to help you unwind."

Rachel noticed Matthew's gaze on her chest and blushed a little. "W-what are you up to?"

With a straight face, Matthew replied, "I'm only giving you a massage-a proper one at that. What are you thinking?"

Rachel noticed how serious

Matthew was and felt embarrassed. It seemed like she had gotten the wrong idea, but she couldn't help feeling a bit let down. It looked like she was getting a bit hooked on that

Rachel cleared her throat to hide her fluster. "I'm not buying it. You've always been a maverick."

Matthew started frowning. He was once a proper and genuine person, treating women with courtesy and respect. He might have bottled it up for too long after three years in prison.

Seeing a woman made him unable to resist thinking along those lines. It was mainly because Rachel was too stunning. She usually had a cold and aloof demeanor, but she became an entirely different person as they got intimate.

All of this made it hard for Matthew to hold himself back.

If Rachel had called Matthew out for being inappropriate in the past, he probably would have realized he was being disrespectful around women and would have reflected on himself to fix this flaw.

But things had changed. When Rachel said that, Matthew felt like it was an inviting gesture.

Matthew remarked with a grin, "You're mistaken. I'm a proper man and a doctor. Since I'm a doctor, I did that just to help you get better. Seriously, what do you think I get out of this?

"Every time I'm with you, I have to work so hard and sweat bullets. When we eat together, I have to eat the food you didn't finish, but it never leads to anything. Why am I torturing myself?"

This scoundrel. What was he expecting it to lead to? Blushing, Rachel clenched her teeth and glared at Matthew. "You're shameless."

After saying that, she walked out of the room, blushing. However, the moment she stepped out, she couldn't help giggling.

She had lots of guys trying to win her over in the past, but they always approached her cautiously and

acted so gentlemanly that it ivetet

made her feel tense. Every extra second felt like walking on eggshells.

Even in the past, when Matthew first met Rachel and was being all slick, she

found it annoying.
