Mirabella gave Dylan a gentle pat on the shoulder and said warmly, "Don't worry, your dad's already forgiven you." She stood tall, with a loving expression that carried a touch of parental authority.

"Let's get going," Mirabella said with a wave, then turned and walked into the school. Dylan stayed put, watching until she was completely out of sight.

He thought to himself, if his dad was still his dad, then all those wild ideas he'd been having were completely off base. Running a hand through his slightly curly hair, Dylan felt a wave of relief that he hadn't blurted out something outrageous. Otherwise, he might have been without a dad today!

Joseph was waiting by the curb for Dylan. As Dylan got closer, Joseph opened the car door and asked, "Heading straight to the hotel? The regional managers are lined up for your video conference."

Dylan gave a nod, but a thought stopped him before getting in the car. He turned to Joseph and said, "Oh, by the way, here's your chance to make things right."

Joseph looked surprised, but then his eyes lit up. "Sure, what do you need?"

Dylan lowered his gaze and said, "Swing by the Tech Center and clear things up with Dr. Ray about the canceled collaboration. We can't let a few folks trying to steal others' work mess up our relationship with them, right?"

Joseph quickly caught on to what Dylan meant. "Got it. I'll head over right away."

He was already fuming at Hank, and this was his shot at redemption. If he messed this up, his career would be toast.

Dylan nodded, his expression now cool and detached, a stark difference from his earlier warmth with Mirabella. Trying to rip off his dad? That wouldn't slide so easily.

Dylan smirked slightly, ducking into the car. Joseph joined him, and after dropping Dylan at the hotel, he drove straight to the Tech Center without missing a beat.

At the Tech Center, Dane had just wrapped up a meeting when his secretary hurried over, speaking respectfully, "Dr. Ray, James is here, waiting in your office." Hearing this, Dane's face lit up with a smile, and he waved the secretary off as he headed towards his office.

The secretary, eager to relay more information, followed closely. "Also, Dr. Ray, Joseph from the DO Group is here to see you."

Dane paused at the door, surprised, and turned to her. "They're here for me? Did they say why?"

The secretary shook her head. "They didn't specify, just mentioned they wanted to apologize in person."

moment, he said, "Alright, keep them entertained for a bit. I'll be there soon."

"Understood," the secretary nodded and headed to the guest room.

Rolling up the blueprints again, Dane asked James, "Are you busy this afternoon?"

James, having overheard the earlier conversation, replied, "If you have things to handle, go ahead."

Dane, not standing on ceremony, said, "Alright, hang tight for a bit. I shouldn't be long."

With that, he set down the blueprints and hurried out of the office once more.
