The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1557

After they ordered their food, Mirabella poured herself a cup of coffee. Her porcelain fingers wrapped around the cup gracefully, giving off a relaxed and elegant vibe.

Dylan, sitting across from her, watched Mirabella intently. Even though it was their first official meeting, it felt like they'd known each other forever there was no awkwardness at all.

With a grin, Dylan finally broke the silence, "I always pictured you as a middle- aged guy in his forties."

Mirabella raised an eyebrow, her eyes twinkling with playful mischief, "Oh, really? Do you have something against women?"

"Not at all, just caught off guard," Dylan replied, clearing his throat as memories of the first generation of smart chip humans from a decade ago flooded back, stirring mixed emotions.

His father was only around twenty now, meaning he was just ten back then. To have created such complex programs at that age-his talent was just mind- blowing.

They were playing in entirely different leagues.

Pondering this, Dylan asked, "With your amazing computing skills, why did you choose bioinformatics?"

Wasn't that a waste of her talent?

Mirabella took a slow sip of her coffee, her confidence unshaken, "And how do you know I'm not even better at bioinformatics?"

Dylan's lips twitched; she definitely had the same way of speaking as his father. "By the way, where are you from?" Mirabella switched topics casually.

Dylan recalled seeing Mirabella's admission file at Prestige College and couldn't hide his surprise, "Turns out we're from the same city."

"Is that so?" Mirabella had only ever chatted with Dylan online; neither had ever snooped into the other's private life.

With the surname Montague being quite rare, Mirabella thought of Jenna and looked at Dylan with a knowing smile, casually asking, "Does your family live at 116 Circle Avenue, by any chance?"

Dylan's handsome face showed surprise at the address, "How'd you know that?"

Mirabella smirked, "So, you really live there?"

"Kind of," Dylan nodded.

Seeing his reaction, Mirabella had her suspicions confirmed.

Jenna had mentioned introducing her cousin who worked in computing. It seemed like it was meant to be.

Dylan—or J-stole a glance at Mirabella, wondering how his father knew so much. Was he interested in him? Had he looked him up on purpose?

With these thoughts swirling, Dylan found himself sitting up straighter and adjusting his collar. If you

looked closely, his face was slightly

flushed.

If his father wanted to change the nature of their relationship, he might actually be okay with that.

Mirabella didn't notice Dylan's

change in demeanor, nor did sheet

elaborate on her connection to

Jenna. Soon, the food was served, and they ate at a leisurely pace.

Afterward, Mirabella needed to head back to school.

Dylan walked her to the campus entrance. As they parted, he cleared his throat and said, "I'll coordinate with your professor about the collaboration project. There won't be any more hiccups."

Mirabella raised an eyebrow, seemingly unfazed, "Thanks."noveldrama

Dylan glanced awkwardly at the school gate and added, "I'm heading back to headquarters tomorrow."

"Safe journey," Mirabella nodded, then added, "I'll send something your way later that you might find handy."

Dylan's cheeks twitched, "Still calling me father? Aren't you..."

The rest of his words were too awkward to say out loud.
