“Mr. Reynolds, is it true you are in a relationship with miss. Matthew?”

“Have you been having a secret affair all these while.”

“Are you both planning to settle down together?”

“Miss. Matthews is it true that you joined the company just to seduce Mr. Reynolds.”

The questions were indeed vicious and for the hands of Alex supporting Claire, she would have passed out.

The security were able to get them into the building where it was quiet and Claire heaved a big sigh of relief.

Daniel was there to meet them and he led them to the waiting room.

There they met people already seated in the room, investors and stakeholders even Alex’s parents where present.

“Good day everyone, I think we need…”

“It’s not a good day, Alex” but Alex was suddenly cut short by an elderly man. This man holds 2% share in the company and he was a good friend of Alex’s mum.

He started off his hot argument “it’s a bad day altogether, we weren’t done with the information leaked from Ms Claire’s desk and now you bring this to the table”.

“How did you know it was from Ms Claire’s desk, we never disclosed that or did you Daniel?”

“No, not me but I am sure someone disclosed that from the office and that solves a lot of things sir” Daniel responded

“Good thinking, we will get back to that later. First we need to solve this. I am not having a bad day people, the market stock is plumenting a little bit beyond the normal daily movement, your panic is enough to make it plument, Also it is the race of men that kisses a lady, didn’t you have a spree in your days?”

“Mr Alex, what has come over you, you’ve changed a lot, you don’t take things with levity, ever since you’ve taken over this company as the CEO and even the highest shareholder even those who doesn’t trust in your capacity went low in matters on days, your sense of judgement and charisma dealt with all obstacles we’ve ever faced even the ones that are more than this, where is our CEO?”

“Mr Collins, I fully understand what you mean, and I am here to make sure everything is put into place why not let’s focus on the right thing and settle…..”

“Alex, you will have to listen to your people, they are here to assist you, also what is Daniel and this person doing here”. Alex mom voiced out changing the atmosphere

Daniel readjusted his seat, stood up, placed his suit well and responded “I am Daniel Blackwell and I am a shareholder, i hold 3% shares gotten from the sales of shares that happened today from the weak shareholders, I am here as part of this conversation to make sure my investment is profitable via listening to the plan Mr CEO has for us and supporting him to success, All regulations were duly followed in the acquisition process. Thanks”

“Ohh, that was a long one… can we get to business please” Alex tried to clear the atmosphere bringing everyone to the same standpoint

“Ohhh no, no, no, not yet. If Mr Blackwell insist on defending his stay here as a shareholder even as he is merely a bodyguard then I insist on kicking Claire out of this meeting first then out of this company”

“Seriously mom, what’s happening over here, it’s wrong to call Daniel a bodyguard, he is my best friend and an helper, no one understands me better than he can and he is of course not leaving as he is a shareholder just as anyone in this room right now including Claire Matthews” Alex couldn’t control himself so to avoid saying what he doesn’t intend he signaled Daniel to carry on

“We discovered that Ms Claire Matthews owns 15% of the shares in the company in the name of Henry Matthews who happens to be her late father, she is the next highest shareholder after Mr Alex who hold 30% and Amanda Stephens who holds 18%, she is in this meeting as a shareholder and holds the right to be here” Daniel finished up and noticed Amanda staring at him, he looked away and readjusted his seat

Claire was just stupefied, it seems strange, “what are you talking about?” she voiced out “Do not worry, everything will be sorted out you will get to understand everything, for now follow my lead and please care for the baby”.

Mr and Mrs Reynolds currently on their toes even as they are both seated, they were sweating profusely, different thoughts on their mind, and with the sharp gaze that Alex had on them they were bent on believing that he knows something

Mrs Reynolds spoke up “She doesn’t even know she holds such, how can you make such a claim just because you want to keep this person with an ulterior motive beside you”

“If anyone is to leave this meeting that will be Mr and Mrs Reynolds, both of you are just Directors of a branch outside the city. I’m really sorry we will need you to leave the meeting” Daniel with a shaky voice responded to Mrs Reynolds

“That shouldn’t be coming from you Daniel, that’s absolute nonsense, I started this company with my hands” James retorted angrily

“This is not the company you started sir, this is the company Mr Alex built with his own hands and we all know it to be that. With all due respect, if you will claim to be the founder then you should just watch what the deciding committee has to say, you have no share and no deciding power sir”

“The dog is about to bite its owner, can you see..” Mrs Reynolds was cut short by Alex, this time Alex is on his feet, he is giving a signal to someone in the meeting, Claire caught that but she doesn’t know who it is.

“What game is Alex playing?” she thought, “What is happening?”
