Since it was Christmas, Ryan had come home early. The Lewis family took Christmas seriously, and as the head of the family, he had to be at the Christmas dinner. Naturally, Sabrina came along, which left Landon feeling a bit down.

He had a mission to complete, so he gave Sabrina her Christmas gift ahead of time. "Open it when you get home!"

Sabrina nodded, clutching the gift box tightly as she boarded the plane, making Nathan roll his eyes. "Anyone who didn't know better would think you were holding a treasure! Sabrina, why don't you just open it now?"

Sabrina huffed and held the box even tighter. "Landon said to open it at home, so no way!"

Ryan was busy with work, and Ralph had to go back to handle his own affairs so he could stay in Novaria and focus on his peony research.

Everyone had something to do, even Nathan, who was working on interior design. Sabrina sneaked a peek and was impressed. "Nathan, your designs are amazing! And you even included a play area!"

Nathan sighed. "It's all for you. Ryan was worried you'd get bored in the building, so he had me design a floor as a play area. Since our family will be doing business at Skycrest in Novaria, we might as well build an indoor castle just for us!"

Sabrina was thrilled and started brainstorming ideas with Nathan. The two of them put their heads together and actually made some breakthroughs in the design.

Nathan praised, "Sabrina, how are you so smart?"

Sabrina replied, "Of course, because I'm a Lewis!"

Allison's injury had mostly healed, so she dragged Henry to get some tests done. For her, Patricia was like a treasure trove. She was eager to start her research and couldn't rest easy until she did.

Alexander insisted she wait. Allison had no choice but to listen.

The next time Allison saw Patricia was in the magnetic space pod. Just as Allison had suspected, Patricia's body contained metal, immobilizing her in the magnetic field. Allison walked over and sat cross-legged in front of Patricia. "Ms. Faith, did you miss me?"

Patricia shot Allison a murderous glare, but Allison remained unfazed. Instead, she continued speaking casually, "Are your teeth stuck too, so you can't talk? You know, Ms. Faith, you're the most unique person I've ever met. Don't worry, I won't harm you. Just a little dissection and bone removal for the sake of medical research!"

Patricia couldn't move at all due to the magnetic field. To study her properly, Allison planned to 3D print a magnetic medical pod, which intrigued Teddy.

Teddy left Dwight and came to find Allison. "Allison, I'm here!"

Allison had just gotten home from the hospital when Teddy showed up. Alexander looked at him with disdain, ready to throw him out.

Allison covered her nose, looking at Teddy with a mix of amusement and disgust. "Go upstairs and clean yourself up. When was the last time you took a shower?"

Teddy paused to think. "Half a month, maybe twenty days."

Alexander couldn't hold back and physically threw Teddy out. "Get out, now!"

Teddy stumbled upstairs, and Allison laughed so hard it hurt her wound. Alexander quickly held her. "Your wound isn't fully healed. Take it easy!"

Allison leaned against Alexander, still laughing. "Let me tell you a secret. Dwight once went to the northwest for a research project, and Teddy was sent to work in the field. He didn't shower for three months. When he came back, he looked like a caveman and had to be scrubbed clean by a dozen people before they let him into the base!" Aiden winced, thinking how Teddy was making a complete fool of the Carter family. "Teddy is hopeless. He'll never find a girlfriend."

Just then, Jessa walked in, looking puzzled. "Dad, what's going on?"

Allison ran over to Jessa. "Jessa, you're back! I missed you so much!"

Jessa hugged Allison and looked her over. "You've lost so much weight. Alexander, how have you been taking care of Allison?"

No one in the family knew about Allison's injury. Liliana came out and was equally shocked. "Weren't you working on some research? What, they don't feed you at the lab?"

Allison smiled awkwardly and pointed to her shoulder. "I got hurt here."

Liliana scolded, "Alexander, what good are you if Allison keeps getting hurt? How can you call yourself her fiancé if you can't even protect her?"

Liliana and Jessa dragged Allison to her room. Seeing the gunshot wound on her shoulder, Liliana burst into tears. "Allison, you're breaking our hearts! You need to rest upstairs. Alexander, how can you let this happen? I'll make you some soup to help you recover!"

Once Jessa left, Allison turned to Liliana. "Liliana, let me check your health."

Liliana nodded and sat down for the check-up. Afterward, Allison said, "Don't stress too much. Think about the baby. A happy mom makes a healthy baby! Victor has given up his career for you. The academy is in chaos, but he doesn't care. That shows how much he loves you. Liliana, cheer up!"

Liliana leaned in and whispered something to Allison, making her laugh so hard she rolled on the bed. Meanwhile, Victor was busy cooking in the kitchen. And Jessa walked in, surprised. "Aren't you going to work?"

Victor replied, "Nope. I've worked for thirty years. Another thirty won't make much difference. But Liliana's health is fragile. If something happens to her, I won't be able to live with myself. So, no more work for me."
