The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 220 Refusing to Treat Allegra from the Walker Family

Allison was sprawled out on her desk, feeling completely wiped out.

Suddenly, the office door swung open, and in walked someone she didn't expect. "Alexander, what are you doing here?" Henry asked, clearly surprised.

Ignoring Henry, Alexander made a beeline for Allison, who looked like she was about to pass out. He scooped her up without a second thought.

"I'm taking you home. You need to rest. Are you hungry? Want something to eat?"

Allison was too tired to even think about food; all she wanted was sleep.

"I need coffee, like, right now."

Her desperate tone made Alexander ready to do anything for her, even if it meant giving up his life.

"Alright, I'll get you some. Let's get you home first."

True to his word, Alexander went out and got her some coffee. After a few sips of the hot brew, Allison started to feel a bit more human.

"I got you some pastries too. Eat a little now, and we'll have dinner at home later."

Realizing how hungry she was, Allison devoured three tarts and two croissants in no time, finally feeling somewhat alive again.

Alexander gently wiped the cream off her mouth with a tissue, his heart aching for her. "You can't keep going without eating or drinking. It's not good for you."

Allison smiled at him, still munching on an egg tart.

"Once you put on the protective suit, you can't take it off until you're done. It's a hassle, especially during critical moments. But no one's ever bought me coffee after work before. You're amazing, Alexander!"

Her simple joy over a cup of coffee made Alexander smile. She was so easy to please.

On the way back to Serenity Manor, Allison fell asleep in Alexander's arms. When they got home, he carried her to their room. After a long night, Alexander took a shower, changed clothes, and decided to nap with her for a bit.

When he woke up, it was already afternoon. Holding Allison in his arms, Alexander felt a deep sense of contentment.

He kissed her forehead gently, got up carefully, and headed to the living room. Just as he sat down, there was a knock on the door.

Opening it, he saw Cleo and frowned.

"What do you want?"

Cleo looked surprised to see Alexander.

"I'm here to see Allison."

"She's exhausted and still resting. Come back later."

Without waiting for a response, Alexander shut the door. Cleo stood there, stunned by his bluntness.

Alexander never showed kindness to people he deemed irrelevant, no exceptions.

He worked in the living room until dinner time, then went to wake Allison. "Dinner's ready!"

Still a bit groggy, Allison leaned into Alexander as soon as she saw him. His heart ached, wishing he could shield her from all the hardships.noveldrama

When they arrived at Dwight's yard, they were surprised to see Kismet and Elsa there.

"Kismet, Elsa, hey!"

Kismet waved at Allison, who went over to hold her hand.

"You're always so hard to track down! What's up?"

"Kismet, do you need something from me?"

Allison was a bit taken aback. Kismet rarely had urgent matters, so she got serious and sat down next to her.

"Actually, it's not me; it's Elsa."

Elsa smiled at Allison and asked, "Allison, is your house call fee expensive?"

Allison chuckled, "Elsa, just tell me what you need. The fee depends on my mood!"

Elsa nodded, looking a bit embarrassed. "It's about Allegra from the Walker family. She knows you treated me, and I told her you were great. She didn't believe it and insisted you check her out too. I know it's inconvenient for her to come here, so could you make a house call and check on Allegra?"

Allison knew Elsa meant well, but Allegra from the Walker family had a bad reputation. Considering the Wells family's standing, she couldn't refuse outright, so she glanced at Alexander.

Seeing her hesitation, Alexander stepped in, "Elsa, you might not know, but one of Allison's sisters is now living at the Walker Manor."

Elsa shook her head, clearly unaware.

"The Walker family and the Bennett family are in-laws? How did I not know?"

Kismet frowned, thinking it over.

"Elsa, you should refuse. Just say Allison is young and inexperienced and can't treat her! I heard Yasmin is pregnant with a Walker family member's child. This matter is too complicated; it's better not to involve Allison."

Elsa was taken aback. She wanted to refuse but wasn't good at saying no. "Kismet, don't worry. I'll talk to Declan about it. Allison is too busy for house calls," Alexander said.

This reminded Elsa not to be too kind-hearted. After all, Allison's medical skills weren't something everyone could afford. If it weren't for the Wells family's influence, Allison wouldn't have treated Elsa.

"Then you go talk to Declan. I'm not good at rejecting people. Alexander, I'll leave this to you!"

Elsa was relieved. Allison worried she might be upset, but she seemed happy, and the matter was settled.

A group of them had dinner together. Teddy was the last to arrive and quickly greeted the elders.

"Elsa, Kismet, hey, Alexander!"

Seeing Allison, Teddy made a beeline for the seat next to her.

"Allison, you finally showed up. There are some data points I don't quite get. Can you help me after dinner?"

Allison nodded, chatting with Teddy while eating, and quickly figured out where he was stuck.

Dwight rarely spoke much and focused on his food. But Alexander, seeing Allison and Teddy chatting so happily, felt a pang of jealousy.

"Don't talk while eating, Teddy. Where are your manners?"

Teddy was taken aback and immediately shut his mouth. Allison laughed and gave Alexander a knowing look. He could be so awkward sometimes.

Kismet admired the young people, but when she looked at Dwight, she saw him eating diligently, as if he might eat himself to death.

However, when Dwight reached for the steak again, Allison stopped him.

"Dwight, you forgot again. High cholesterol means less meat. If you don't control

yourself, I'll have to treat you!"
