Chapter 218 Catching the Traitor
Sabrina was hiding out in the office, totally clueless about what Landon had been up
to. When Landon finally emerged from the boss's office, he rounded up a team to search the dorm building, bringing along some forensic folks and their gear. And guess what? They hit the jackpot.
"Mr. Wells, we found something!"
Landon saw they had uncovered a laptop loaded with videos, including surveillance footage from the control room.
"He must've planted a pinhole camera in there. And look, there are images from your office too! These can probably be viewed on a phone. Mr. Wells, we need to nab this guy ASAP!"
Landon was fuming, but he knew he couldn't just grab the suspect and tip him off.
"Go tell Ken to fetch file number seven from the archives for me. He doesn't need to bring it to my office; just take it straight to the conference room. I need it there!"
Landon made a quick call and sent someone to notify Ken. Soon enough, Ken Lynn headed to the archives. In the conference room, a bunch of people were watching the surveillance footage, which showed Ken.
Ken walked into the archives, pulled out a few files, opened them, and started snapping pictures. Only then did he take file number seven to the conference room.
This whole scene was caught on camera, and the leaders in the conference room were livid.
"Such a major screw-up in the police department, Landon, you need to handle this seriously and do a self-examination. The management was so lax that you didn't even know you were being watched. You all will face disciplinary action!"
As they were talking, Ken walked in with the file but was immediately grabbed.
"Mr. Wells, what's going on?"
Ken looked totally confused, and Landon went over and socked him right in the face.
"Ken, I totally underestimated you. You're actually an agent of Butterfly Shadow. Impressive!"
Landon dragged Ken to the interrogation room. The grilling went on until late at night. They uncovered a lot, and the more Landon heard, the angrier he got.
"You say you were just gathering intel and did nothing else. Ken, do you think I'm an idiot? Every time we went on a mission, you leaked the info. Do you know what that means? Have you thought about the colleagues who got hurt because of you? And what about Holden, don't you feel guilty?"
Holden Harris was a veteran team member who died on a mission six months ago. Now thinking about it, it was probably related to Ken, as Holden was on a mission to take down drug dealers.
Landon wanted to kill Ken but held himself back.
"Interrogate him non-stop for twenty-four hours. Only stop when I say so!"noveldrama
After that, Landon stormed out, stood in the courtyard, lit a cigarette, and smoked half a pack before remembering that Sabrina might still be in his office. He got anxious and hurried to the office building.
He opened the office door, and it was pitch dark inside. Landon quickly turned on the light. He didn't know if Sabrina was still there. As he walked to the sofa, he saw Sabrina curled up on it, and his heart softened.
"Sabrina, you didn't think to call me?"
Landon quickly took off his coat, wrapped it around Sabrina, and carried her out to the dormitory. He realized she hadn't even made her bed yet, having been pulled to help as soon as she arrived.
Landon took her to the next room, letting her crash in his bed. Seeing the small lump under the covers, Landon couldn't help but smile.
After settling Sabrina, Landon went back to the other room, organized her suitcase, and made her bed. He didn't rest there but left a note for Sabrina and headed out.
When Sabrina woke up, it was already the next morning. The Reveille had woken her up. Seeing it was six in the morning, she checked her phone and was surprised.
"Do I have to get up this early? What kind of habit is this?"
Sabrina got up and looked around, realizing this wasn't her room. It seemed to be Landon's, which startled her. She quickly got out of bed and ran to her room, finding it neatly organized, which confused her.
"Did I sleepwalk? I was in the office building. How did I end up in the dormitory and sleep in Landon's bed?"
Sabrina scratched her head, still puzzled, and then saw the note Landon had left. "Interrogating all night, Landon is so busy!"
Soon, the sound of assembly came from outside. Curious, Sabrina ran out and saw a group of people running. She joined them.
Everyone wore police uniforms, except Sabrina in a white tracksuit. Landon quickly noticed her and pulled her out of the group.
"What are you doing so early in the morning?"
"Running, Landon. Exercise is good for your health. Do you run every day? Let me join!"
Landon rolled his eyes at her, really having no way to deal with Sabrina. "If you want to run, keep up and don't fall behind!"
Sabrina was thrilled and quickly caught up with the group. Landon shook his head, still unsure how to handle her.

Meanwhile, last night, the atmosphere at Skycrest was very tense, with several people taken away. Alexander was informed of this immediately.
"Mr. Carter, the Shaw family has been implicated. This might affect their business!"
The Shaw family was in the hotel business, and it was discovered that cameras were found in three of their hotels and clubs. This was a serious issue. Hunter hadn't slept all night, staying at the hotel to inspect the rooms, determined to eliminate all potential hazards.
"In the hotel industry, such things are uncontrollable. Hunter should be able to handle
it. The key is to find out whose hands these videos have fallen into."
James nodded, knowing this would be a difficult task.
Early in the morning, Alexander went to the Carter Group, not expecting someone to be waiting for him.
"Mr. Hall, your presence is quite a surprise!"
Carl was standing at the president's office door. The secretaries hadn't arrived yet, so
Carl was alone on the top floor. Seeing him, James was startled.
"I was passing by and wanted to see you. Mr. Carter, you don't mind, do you?"
Alexander was helpless. Even if he minded, Carl was already here, so what was the point?
Alexander signaled James to open the door. James quickly did so, and Alexander led Carl inside, leaving James to guard the door.
"Tell me, what's so urgent that you had to see me?"
"It's about Allison. I know she's in the lab and can't be contacted from the outside. But what I have to say has nothing to do with her experiment. Alexander, I just found out that the head of Butterfly Shadow is from Eldoria!"
