The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 215 Sleeping Alone

After getting everything sorted, Allison noticed Sabrina's worried look and felt her heart soften. She walked over and messed up Sabrina's hair a bit.

"Felix will be alright, don't stress!"

Sabrina nodded, "Yeah, I just hope he gets better soon!"

Allison sighed to herself. Sabrina was too kind-hearted, and that's why Felix kept hurting her. When Felix finally woke up, he'd realize what an amazing person he lost. "Don't worry, I just can't look after you right now, so I'm leaving you with Landon."

Sabrina didn't mind at all and looked at Allison with determination.

"Don't worry, Allison, I won't let you down. I'll do my best!"

"Of course, I trust you, Sabrina!"

That afternoon, the virus and blood samples arrived. Allison rushed to the hospital. Henry had a virus lab at Stellar University's affiliated hospital, so Allison didn't even stop to say hi to Alexander before heading to the lab.

When Alexander got back to Serenity Manor, Teddy, Dwight, Cleo, and Sabrina were all waiting for him to have dinner, which caught him off guard.

"Where's Allison?"

"Allison went to the lab. She asked me to tell you she won't be able to contact the outside world for the next forty-eight hours, so don't worry about her!"

Alexander frowned. He knew the virus samples had arrived because James had picked them up, but he still wasn't used to Allison disappearing for two days just like that.

"If you're with Allison, you'll get used to this. She vanishes for days doing research, sometimes even weeks. You'll get used to it!"

Dwight's words made Alexander uneasy. Allison was too exceptional, and someone like her wouldn't always stay by his side. That was the issue.

Early the next morning, Alexander went to work and unexpectedly ran into Landon. They stared at each other before lighting a cigarette by the car.

"Sabrina's not just any girl. Don't let her suffer. Allison can make your life tough, and you know how powerful the Lewis family is!"

Landon raised an eyebrow, thinking, 'The Lewis family?'

"Sabrina said her parents are with Doctors Without Borders, so the Lewis family you're talking about is the one I think it is?"

Alexander nodded with a smile, and Landon's face immediately turned serious.

"Sabrina is the only daughter the Lewis family has had in over a hundred years. She has fourteen brothers, whether they're biological or cousins, and they all adore her! Felix's family is influential abroad, so the two families had an engagement. But Felix never took Sabrina seriously, which is why things turned out this way."

Alexander patted Landon on the shoulder and said, "The Lewis family has the world's largest virus library. You know why Felix was poisoned, so just keep it to yourself. Let's go, time for work!"

Landon held the cigarette but didn't take a puff. Sabrina came out with her suitcase and saw him leaning against the car, cigarette in hand.

Sabrina frowned. Landon saw her dragging a huge suitcase, sweat on her forehead.

Landon quickly went over, put out the cigarette, and tossed it away. He then picked up Sabrina's suitcase, realizing it was super heavy, something a girl like Sabrina couldn't possibly carry. He wondered what was inside.

Sabrina wiped her forehead with her sleeve and watched as Landon effortlessly lifted the suitcase into the car. Her heart skipped a beat.

Landon was really strong and looked very reliable.

But Sabrina had seen him twice, both times smoking, which didn't leave a good impression on her.

When getting into the car, she wanted to sit in the back seat, but Landon had put her suitcase there, so she had to climb into the big Jeep with her short legs.

Seeing this, Landon couldn't help but smile. For some reason, watching her struggle made him happy.

As the car started, Landon suddenly asked, "Don't like me smoking?"

Sabrina, fastening her seatbelt and looking for her phone, was surprised by Landon's question.

She looked at him seriously and said, "Smoking is harmful to your health! My mom said that eighty percent of her lung cancer patients have a history of smoking. We can't take our youth for granted and not take care of our bodies!"

Landon was amused by Sabrina's words. She was giving him a lecture on lung cancer.

"Your mother is a doctor. Why didn't you study medicine?" Landon asked, but Sabrina fell silent.

Not hearing a response, Landon turned to look at her and saw her face full of disappointment.

"Did I ask something I shouldn't have, making you uncomfortable?"

Sabrina shook her head and said, "Not really. My family is full of doctors-my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and brothers. But my mom wouldn't let me study medicine. She said it was too hard and didn't want me traveling the world like her, putting myself in danger as a doctor with Doctors Without Borders."noveldrama

Landon nodded. If he had a daughter, he wouldn't want that either.

At the police station, Landon arranged a dormitory for Sabrina, right next to his. It was her first time in such a place, and she was curious about everything. The room had only a table, a bed, and a clothes rack.

But Sabrina didn't mind. She quickly took out her things and started organizing. "This place is not like home. If you need anything, let me know, and I'll get it for you." Sabrina shook her head and smiled. "It's already great. I've been to remote countries with my brother, sleeping outdoors, which was much worse than this!"

Landon raised an eyebrow, watching Sabrina take out a bunch of fluffy things, and couldn't help but smile.

"The meeting is at nine. You have half an hour to get ready."

"No need, let's go now. Allison said not to delay work. But could you help me carry something? It's too heavy!"

Landon nodded and carried Sabrina's equipment box to the office building.

In the conference room, several leaders were gathered, curious about the technical advisor. They subconsciously thought it would be an older, more stable person. But when Sabrina stood before them, they were all shocked.

"Is she the technical advisor you mentioned, Landon? Are you kidding? Is this child even an adult?"

It was Sabrina's first time seeing so many people in police uniforms, all seeming to be leaders, making her a bit nervous.
