Chapter 206 The Popular Allison
Blair was feeling super isolated. Preston had gone off the deep end, Jasper and Hayden were out of the country, and Yasmin had taken off with the Walker family. Just like that, she was all by herself.
"I don't want the money. Just get me out of here, James," Blair said.
The Ember family had gone bankrupt, and Helena's son, Cade, had been taken away. Helena, stuck in the country, took out her frustrations on Blair every day. Going abroad seemed like the only way to find some peace.
"Tell Allison I don't owe her anything. She wouldn't be where she is today without me," Blair insisted.
Even now, she was convinced that everyone else was to blame, not her.
James had no intention of passing on such nonsense to Allison. Why ruin a perfectly good day with that kind of bitterness?
Kismet's arrival caused quite a stir among the older guests, who eagerly gathered around her.
"Kismet, I never thought I'd see you again!" Aiden exclaimed, only to get a glare from Kismet.
Dwight stepped in to block Aiden's view.
Allison couldn't help but laugh at the scene, feeling like she was surrounded by a bunch of mischievous seniors.
"Kismet, I heard you took Hunter as a student. When do we get to taste your cooking?" Elsa Wells asked. She was an old friend of Kismet and had connections with the Bishop family.
"Still thinking about food at your age, Elsa? You'll never change that gluttonous habit of yours," Kismet teased.
Elsa laughed heartily, gripping Kismet's hand. "I don't care, you have to feed me!"
Kismet glanced at Xavier, who promptly left the room. He came back shortly with a team carrying food boxes, which they set on the table.
The guests, seeing the spread, were amazed. "This is incredible!"
Those who knew Kismet explained her background to the others. "Kismet's cooking is legendary. You can't buy this kind of meal!"
The guests buzzed with excitement, and Allison became the center of attention.
"Ms. Bennett, will you be seeing patients at a hospital? Can we book appointments with you?"
"Yes, Ms. Bennett, what are your career plans? I'm the director of Hopewell Hospital, and we'd love to have you. Name your terms!"
Declan chuckled at the scene. "Have they forgotten what today is? It's an engagement party, not a job fair!"
Mia hurried over to rescue Allison. "Everyone, today is Alexander's engagement party. Let's not overwhelm Allison!"
The guests laughed.
Liliana came over, holding Allison's hand. "Allison is now part of the Carter family. Aiden dotes on her. Alexander even more so. We brought Allison into our family to make her happy. We won't interfere with her choices, so please don't pressure her."
Liliana's message was loud and clear: Allison was now a beloved member of the Carter family.
Seeing this, a lot of people could only sigh.
Elsa, feeling a bit envious, turned to her grandson Landon. "You've been hanging out with Alexander for so long. Why haven't you found a wife yet?"
Landon sighed. "Grandma, Alexander's wife was a stroke of luck. You can't force these things."
Elsa scoffed. "You're not bad-looking. Why can't you find a wife? Or do you not like women?"
Hunter, overhearing, burst out laughing. Mia, next to him, leaned into his embrace, laughing along. Landon felt like punching them.
Seeing Hunter and Mia, Elsa grew even more frustrated. "Even Hunter has a girlfriend. What about you?"
The whole table erupted in laughter.
Jessa approached, trying to calm Elsa. "Mom, don't pressure Landon. Today is Allison's engagement, and it's the perfect time for you to meet her!"
Hearing this, Elsa brightened. "That's wonderful! Alexander is so lucky; Allison is such a charming girl!"
When Liliana and Allison returned, Jessa introduced Elsa. "Allison, this is my mother. She's been eager to meet you."
"Hello, I'm Allison," Allison said with a gentle smile.

"A child from the Bishop family, indeed well-mannered. Allison, I remember you from when you were little!" Elsa said.
Allison was surprised; she had no recollection of Elsa.
Kismet chimed in, "Elsa was always over at our house for meals. You were too young to remember. Look at her now, she's put on quite a bit of weight. Allison, check her health later and help her out."
Allison nodded, understanding Jessa's intention.noveldrama
Jessa was relieved.
Thinking about last night's incident still made Jessa's heart race. If it hadn't been for Allison, Aiden might not have woken up today. This also made Jessa worry because Elsa had a lot of health issues but stubbornly refused to see a doctor, which was a constant headache for her.
"Actually, I'm planning to stay at Serenity Manor for a while in a few days. Jessa, why don't you let Elsa come along? She can keep Kismet company and get some massages and therapy," Allison suggested.
Allison didn't even need to examine Elsa to see that she had several health issues.
Jessa was more than happy with this suggestion. "Can she really stay at Serenity Manor with you, Allison? It would be wonderful!"
Elsa was thrilled. "Kismet, that's perfect! I'll come stay with you. Just make sure there's plenty of good food!"
The room filled with laughter. Alexander returned from making rounds, seeing Allison surrounded by well-wishers and gifts.
"How are you holding up?" he asked, sitting beside her.
Allison shook her head, showing Alexander the gifts. "What do I do? These are so precious. I'm afraid to accept them."
What do you think?
