The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 159 Alexander's Fury

Alexander let go of Henry's collar and slammed his fist into the hallway wall, his anger almost tangible. Declan quickly stepped in to block the view from any nosy passersby. "Alexander, this is a hospital. You need to calm down!" Declan urged, never having seen Alexander this out of control before.

Declan's own frustration bubbled over, and he kicked Henry's leg. "Henry, you came out here making a scene without knowing the facts. Now, tell us, how's Ms. Bennett?"

Henry scoffed, adjusting his lab coat. "The bone's been set, but she needs to stay in bed. Mr. Watson has a special ointment for her. With proper care, she should be fine in about two weeks."

He shot them a disdainful look before heading back into the operating room, leaving Declan fuming.

"That Henry, acting all high and mighty. What a jerk," Declan muttered, turning to see Alexander on the phone and walking away. He quickly followed.

"What's the situation with Preston?" Alexander asked.

James responded on the other end, "We've sent the evidence to the prosecutor's office. If it holds up, he'll be in prison for a long time."

To make sure Preston faced justice, James had gathered a mountain of incriminating evidence, including two deaths.

When Preston first took over the Bennett Group, there was a construction project that went horribly wrong, resulting in two fatalities. The accident happened because substandard materials were used, causing a collapse of the top floor. Preston had managed to hush it up with money, but James had dug deeper and obtained the evidence.

On top of that, Preston had been embezzling funds and laundering money for foreign entities. With all these charges combined, he was looking at a possible death sentence.

Alexander's face remained hard. "It's not enough. No punishment can undo what Allison's been through."

"Helena just got her hands on two billion dollars and is planning to flee," James added.

"Not on my watch," Alexander sneered. "Inform the Embers about that. Also, freeze her accounts under the Bennett Group's name. She's not taking a single cent."novelbin

As for Blair, Alexander wasn't going to let her off easily either. Despite being Allison's biological mother, Blair had hurt her one too many times, crossing his line. "What can we do to make Blair lose everything?" he asked.

Alexander's words left James stunned.

"Mr. Carter, she is Ms. Bennett's mother," James felt it necessary to remind him.

"So what? She just broke Allison's bone," Alexander replied coldly.

James gasped. "Understood, Mr. Carter. I'll look into it and report back."

After hanging up, Alexander made a beeline for Hayden's nursing home. Hayden was already waiting for him.

Hayden stayed silent.

Alexander pressed on, "All these years, what exactly have you treated Allison as? When you saw her intelligence, did you wish she were a boy? When she excelled in school and people wanted to nurture her talents, did you resent her for outshining your grandson? Did you see her as a threat to your family's legacy?"

Each of Alexander's words hit Hayden like a punch. He gripped his cane tightly.

Alexander scoffed. "It figures. The person who least wanted Allison to succeed was you-her most respected grandfather! I bet you always wanted Valencia to accept Jasper instead. You hoped Jasper would be raised by the Bishops and inherit everything, turning all their wealth into the Bennett family's assets, didn't you?"

Hayden, having married into the Bishop family, had always schemed to benefit the Bennetts, a twisted ambition Alexander couldn't fathom.

"Allison is no longer a Bennett. From now on, she's a Carter. Anyone who harms her will pay. I didn't want to go this far, but you've crossed my line. Jasper will rot in prison," Alexander declared.

With that, he stormed out, leaving Hayden so enraged he was hospitalized that night.

Meanwhile, Alexander brought Allison back to the Carter Manor.

"Alexander, are you crazy? Allison should be in the hospital!" Jessa fumed.

"I've arranged for private medical care. She'll be better off here without the hospital disruptions. But I'll need you and Liliana to help look after her," he explained. Jessa sighed. "Fine, go do what you need to do. We'll take care of Allison."

With that, Alexander left in a hurry. The Carter Group had a major client he needed to meet abroad, a task Griffin couldn't handle alone.

When Allison woke up, Alexander was already gone, leaving her feeling a bit lost. Mia entered the room quietly.

"Allison, are you looking for Alexander? He had to go on a business trip. He'll be back in two days. Until then, I'll stay with you," Mia said softly.

Allison looked at Mia, who was usually so lively but now seemed subdued. "I'm not that fragile, Mia. You're acting like I'm at death's door."

"Don't say that! Do you hear me?" Mia's eyes welled up with tears. "Allison, we're going to be best friends forever, okay?" Mia insisted. Allison nodded. "Forever."
