Chapter 158 A Bunch of Bastards
Just then, Alexander walked in with Aiden. He'd taken a rare day off to hang out with Aiden at the market. As they stepped inside, they were hit with chaos: Allison was hurt, and even the usually calm Jessa had gotten into a fight. Aiden was shocked.
"Allison!" Alexander dropped the groceries and rushed over to her.
He saw Allison crying, blood soaking through her bandages.
"Oh my God, she's bleeding. The wound must've reopened. Alexander, we need to get her to the hospital now!" Liliana said, panicking.
The butler quickly called for an ambulance.
Blair stood there, disturbingly calm, like it wasn't her daughter in pain.
Alexander scooped Allison into his arms, ready to leave, but Blair blocked his way.
"You can't take my daughter. She's my responsibility. Mr. Carter, this isn't right!" Blair insisted, still clinging to the idea that Allison was only at the Carter Manor for their money.
Alexander's eyes were cold as he looked at Blair. "Why are you really here today? Are you genuinely concerned about Allison, or are you here to defend Jasper? Mrs. Bennett, Allison is your daughter. How can you treat her like this?"
Alexander was furious, but Allison's condition was more important.
Aiden had the butler take Blair to the living room sofa and then looked at her coldly. "Mrs. Bennett, you're the first person to come into my home and assault my family."
Blair, faced with Aiden's anger, quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, Mr. Carter. I didn't mean to. Besides, Allison is my daughter."
"You remember she's your daughter? Mrs. Bennett, I've known you since you were young. You were the dignified eldest daughter of the Ember family. I can't understand why you harbor such malice towards your own child. Alexander told me everything about the Bennett family's treatment of Allison. It's despicable," Aiden accused.
Aiden usually stayed out of other families' business, but this was too much. Allison was so good. If she were his daughter, he would be overjoyed.
"Allison must have told you her side. She's always been distant with us and closer to strangers," Blair complained, further angering Aiden.
"You're the disgraceful one here. You threw your thirteen-year-old daughter out of the house. Do you know what she went through? She was sold by her own father to human traffickers. You Bennetts are a bunch of bastards! Get out, now!" Aiden roared, his blood pressure spiking.
The butler gave Aiden his medication and then hurried Blair out.
Aiden was breathing heavily with anger, unable to comprehend such terrible parenting.
Blair stood at the entrance of the Carter Manor, feeling a chill run through her. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. With trembling hands, she dialed Preston's number, but Helena answered.
"Blair, looking for Preston? Didn't you know? He's been arrested. I'm leaving the country with Cade and Yasmin. The Bennett family is all yours now!" Helena's voice dripped with malice.
With money in hand, she had no intention of staying with Preston.
Blair was shocked. "Helena, how can you abandon Preston after all these years?"
Helena laughed coldly. "Spare me your lectures, Blair. Do you think Preston ever cared about you? He wanted Allison dead. It's a miracle she survived being sold overseas."
Blair's hand trembled as she held her phone, struggling to find her voice. "He really sold Allison?"
Helena smirked, her thoughts growing darker. She had always felt overshadowed by Blair, who received all the family's best. Blair was poised and beautiful, while Helena was like the ugly duckling, only there to highlight Blair's brilliance. Helena resented this deeply.
Why should Blair get all the praise while she remained in the background? So, Helena had no qualms about stealing Blair's man. Now, with the Ember family bankrupt, Helena had taken Cade and Yasmin and left, abandoning Preston, showing just how ruthless she could be.novelbin

"You didn't know? What a failure you are. You tormented your own daughter while raising mine. Thanks for that."
Blair felt a pain in her heart as she recalled Allison's suffering.
At the hospital, Henry was beside himself with worry as Allison was taken into surgery again. He stormed out, heading straight for Alexander, ready to punch him, but Declan held him back. "Henry, calm down. Look at who you're about to hit," Declan shouted.
However, Henry was beyond reasoning. "Alexander, you promised to take care of Allison. Why is she in the hospital again? First, a minor fracture, now a complete break. Did you hit her?" Declan was so furious he laughed. He shoved Henry against the wall. "Are you insane? Alexander would never harm Allison. It was her mother, Blair."
Henry's anger turned to confusion. "Blair? She hit Allison again? Is she even her real mother?"
Alexander stormed over to Henry, grabbing him by the collar. "What do you mean 'again'? What else have they done to her?"
Henry, still frowning, snorted. "You didn't even know this? Since she was a child, they beat and berated her. The reasons were always bizarre-accusing her of trying to outsmart her sister, making her look bad, or saying Allison never smiled, claiming she brought bad luck!"
