The Almighty Lord Caspian

Chapter 517 Making an Example Out of Someone

Chapter 517 Making an Example Out of Someone

Upon returning to the villa, both went back to their respective rooms to resume their slumber.

Caspian was afraid that Willow would have awoken. Thankfully, she was still fast asleep.

Nothing happened all night.

In the morning, Caspian received the latest news saying that Vadesia and Astronia's negotiations with

Necros seemed to have fallen through.

The three countries became entangled in a dispute as Necros refused to open up a passage for them.

Necros was no fool. They were co-dependent on Diatoran. If anything happened to Diatoran, their

country would be in imminent danger as well.

Immediately, Caspian called Sylvia and Macy over. He planned to check on the situation at the

coastline of Southlake City. He would head over to Necros in person if the situation called for it.

"I'll wait for you, Caspian. You must be careful," Willow yelled.

"Don't worry, I'll be sure to return home safely," Caspian said before turning around to get into the

armored car.

With the imminence of war, he could no longer afford to worry about his personal feelings.

Once Astronia and Vadesia broke through Necros' line of defense, they would be in the vicinity of

Southlake City.

By then, the entire Southlake City would become very dangerous. Caspian could definitely have Willow

transferred to Dhord City as it was safer there.

However, the people would not take this news well as Willow was his wife. Once the news spread, it

would definitely cause them to panic.

For that reason, he had Willow continue staying in Southlake City.

Even though he had brought Sylvia and Macy with him, he left dozens of armored guards in Southlake

City to protect Willow.

Now that the war was coming, he needed Sylvia and Macy to be on the front line. They were his best Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

fighters.

To have them stay back to protect Willow would be a waste of their talent.

Willow and Zoey stood outside the villa as they watched Caspian's car leave.

At this very moment, some troops from Astronia and Vadesia decided to cross Necros by using

submarines.

Necros was a small country that was easy to deal with. They did not want to spend a second more on

Necros as their ultimate target was Southlake City.

The advanced troops of Astronia and Vadesia used their radars to detect all the bombs that had been

placed by Diatoran on the seabed. They managed to get through successfully without detonating the

bombs.

After all, the technology of these countries was very advanced as well.

Instantly, news about the armies of Astronia and Vadesia appearing on the coastline spread across

Southlake City.

The entire Southlake City was plunged into chaos. Some of the more timid ones even fled the city.

As the armored vehicles passed through the streets of Southlake City, Caspian saw a lot of people

holding banners on the street. They seemed to be very emotional.

"Caspian, the chief commander of South Aridlands is a coward!"

"The chief commander backed down before the war! Replace him!"

"Too cowardly to fight! Replace him! Replace him!"

"The disgrace of Diatoran!"

The Stewart family exposed Caspian's identity as the chief commander who ordered the naval retreat.

Like a stone that disturbed an otherwise peaceful lake, a ripple effect was created.

Many knew that Astronia and Vadesia were drawing near to Southlake City. For that reason, they

began to take it to the streets and demand for the chief commander to be replaced.

They were not concerned with whatever a "Diatoran God of War" was. They would support anyone as

long as that person could protect them.

For now, all they wanted was someone valorous to enter the battle as their chief commander!

Just a day earlier, Caspian had the reverence of the people of Southlake City. However, his reputation

seemed to have been tarnished overnight. Half of the people of Southlake City were criticizing him now.

Caspian felt rather frustrated that the situation had turned disorderly.

"I can't believe they're making a scene here, Lord Caspian. I'll go and teach them a lesson!" Sylvia

fumed when she saw the banners.

"No, don't mind them," Caspian said.

"But they're slandering the good name of the Diatoran God of War. Should we just let them do

whatever they want?" Sylvia asked impatiently.

"They must have misunderstood us because they have no idea what's going on. It's completely

understandable for them to be resentful now," Caspian said.

"But they've crossed the line with their insolent remarks. I just can't stand it anymore," Sylvia said

furiously.

"Once we win the war, they'll know why I had to do what I did," Caspian said.

"Have you figured out how you're going to defeat the enemy?" Sylvia asked.

Caspian had not disclosed his strategy to them.

"Of course. First, we'll provide reinforcement to Necros and help them with the defense against

Astronia and Vadesia. As for the advanced troops, we'll just let them in.

"Once they're within range, we'll annihilate them!" Caspian said.

As the Diatoran God of War, he had already devised a complete battle plan in his mind.

"I knew it. You must've had your reason for asking the maritime troops to retreat."

"Once they're near Southlake City, we'll use the suppressive fire tactic. How's the situation in Necros?"

Caspian asked.

"Got it. But how did these civilians know that you're the chief commander?" Sylvia asked.

"I'm not sure either. Only a small number of people know about the identity of the chief commander.

They might have inferred from the procession yesterday." Caspian had wondered about it as well, and

this seemed to be the only possible explanation.

"Could the leak of your identity as the chief commander come from a group who wants to disrupt the

stability of Southlake City?" Sylvia asked as she pondered.

"With the urgency of the war's situation, let's not worry too much about this," Caspian advised.

It was a waste of time to linger on such trivial matters.

"Guys, look! Caspian's vehicle has appeared! Don't let him get away!"

At that moment, Richard was among a crowd. He yelled as he pointed at Caspian's vehicle.

When the people around him heard that Caspian had appeared, they immediately rushed over.

Thousands of people blocked the streets.

The vehicle that Caspian was in had to come to a stop.

"Come out, Caspian! Someone like you is not worthy of becoming the chief commander!" Nicholas

shouted as well.

The anger within those civilians burned even more intensely after hearing what Nicholas had just said.

Caspian started piecing the puzzles together when he saw Richard and Nicholas.

The leaking of his identity must have had something to do with them and the Stewart family.

They wanted to use public opinion to their advantage and ruin Caspian's reputation.

"These people are obstructing the army when there's a war going on. Have them evacuated

immediately within three minutes. Otherwise, they shall be held accountable for their actions!

"Have our men punish Nicholas, Richard, and whoever's with them. Make an example out of them!"

Caspian ordered.

This was a serious matter. Caspian could not afford to be lenient.

"Yes, Lord Caspian!"

Sylvia nodded before immediately leading a few men out of the car!
