Dylan’s POV

I wrestled with my growing attraction for my warrior mate but my eyes narrowed to slits on their own accord when I saw Dominic signal for a bow and a quiver of poison darted arrows.

He was going to shoot at her too ?

That was not announced and included in the challenge beforehand !!

This was cheating !

Without looking at me and sensing my rising rage and confusion, Dominic without turning back, addressed my standing figure behind him, “As much as I hate her, I have to admit that Zeke was right. She is fiercely loyal to the crown and the warrior in her deserves respect”, he gave a fair judgement as we watched the beautiful gamma wolf gracefully turn around in every direction with her criss crossing sword and break all deadly, flaming arrows into half before they reached her.

“But what are you up to, Domz ?”, I growled at my King and Dominic’s authoritative, royal blooded vampire did not like one bit of the disrespect I showed, as he flashed his red eyes at me in fury and screeched with his dangerous fangs showing.

“Growl at me one more time and I will throw you in the field and shoot you myself”, Dominic gruffed out the threat.

I fought back an eye roll and patiently waited for the Vampire King to act, although I felt like jumping off the parapet and taking my mate in my arms while protecting her from every vicious and nefarious thing in the world.

However, this was her battle in which I had no right to interfere and I had to trust Dominic in this.

I knew he was a just King and always had the best intentions for everyone at heart, even my mate- even if he claimed to dislike her.

The warriors shot the last batch of arrows at her and she successfully evaded them all with her sword which was dripping with her blood from the handle.

Her sweet blood’s scent calmed me and agitated me at the same time as my heart bled out to see her hands’ distressed state.

Dominic held my arm in silent support and it was enough assurance that he was not up to something.

God, how wrong I was because when Amanda cut the last arrow in four parts with her back towards us, Dominic was quick as a hiccup to shoot two poisoned arrows at her.

Amanda was supporting her right hand with her left one somehow and the heavy sword was close to falling down along with taking her fatigued figure along with it too.

However, the brave hearted female warrior was not the one to give up because by some unknown, magical power or steel will, she fought through the end, no matter how close she was to the jaws of death.

In truth, only her mate’s words were helping her keep her ground so far.

“I trust you, please don’t break it. I have been waiting for a mate since years”

“Call me a fool but I am already in love with you. Please win this test, mate. Promise me you will overcome every challenge for your mate, our future and an eternal love that we can nurture”

“Promise me”

“Yes, I promise, mate. I will do my best !”

“You are the best, gorgeous !! I love you”

She flexed her back muscles with determined grit and stuck out one foot so that when she turned around to attack Dominic’s arrows, she had shredded them into numerous pieces.

I gave a sidelong glance, full of murderous intentions at a grinning Dominic who seemed to be enjoying at Amanda’s expense and mine fucking too !

One last look at me and a third golden coloured arrow, different from the rest in the quiver, zinged out of his bow, only to bury deep in Amanda’s shoulder.

Oh shit !

Overcoming my initial shock, I braced myself to run and jump down the heights of the fort but Dominic was quick to stick out a foot in front of me while Ryan held me back, stopping my face from licking the ground in time.

However, I had misread the situation again. Dominic, a true friend and just King that he was, was helping Amanda out in his own novel way.

“DOMINIC !!”, I heard Amanda shout furiously before she hissed in pain and I watched Domz chuckle as he plunged out the golden, blood stained arrow and threw it away after jumping to her rescue.

“That was fun”, Dominic laughed while Amanda glared but the faint hints of a growing smile on her face were not hidden from us anymore.

“Didn’t you have any other painless way of marking me as a subject of yours and inducting me in your coven ?”, Amanda hissed at the grinning Vampire King.

“And miss the opportunity of taking my revenge in my own way for kissing MY mate ? Hell no !!”, Dominic negated with a laugh and Amanda rolled her eyes.

“He is my brother. Shut up and stop reminding me of that ! It already makes me cringe so much on thinking about it. Ughh”, she gritted out before stomping away from the field with the medic team that rushed to her aid, but not before looking at me.

“I did it, mate. I did it for you, our bond, our future and our love”, she said through the strengthening mate link before smiling at me and going away with the rushing medics and coven doctor. “I love you !”, was the last thing I heard before she was out of sight.

“I love you so much more, mate. I love you more ! Couldn’t be prouder of you !!”, I replied back and a wave of happy emotions flooded the mate link, making me smile like a sappy fool.

She had done it !

She had fought for her place in the coven and won our trust !!

Now no one could stop me from making her the happiest woman on Earth !

“Ok Romeo, you are fucking hippo heavy. Get that annoyingly heavy ass off my hands before Zeke gets jealous”, Ryan hissed in my ear making me glare at him but he won the staring, or rather glaring contest and I was soon enough rushing to the pack hospital to check on my mate.

However, Dominic stopped me just when I was about to leave the arena.

“No hard feelings, Dylan ?”, he asked.

I smiled at him and shook my head.

“No hard feelings, bro. Although I am gonna stab you with that arrow to tell you how much it hurts”, I spat out and rubbed my shoulder at the same spot as Amanda coz I could feel whatever she could feel through the mate bond.

“Well then welcome to the mated world. You ought to feel lucky you have to bear with the pain of one. I have two and they are just two pups looking out for mischief wherever they go”, he shook his head but the fondness in his voice was a dead giveaway of how he truly felt for his mates.

They loved each other to the T.

However, we all were going to be in for a rude shock soon after because it was not moments later that we found a burning hot, unconscious Bella in the pack hospital too, when we went to check on my mate.

For now, I was content that I was lucky enough to find just the right mate for myself- perfect, in fact and going to be on leave for the entire month to spend “quality time” with my mate !!

My honeymoon phase had finally started ! Oh thank the Goddess !!

Kai’s POV

My Lycan, Dexter took me far and wide away from Dominic’s coven, inspite the pain of rejection shooting through our body.

A cursing Dexter was not helping me to withhold my temper nor was the post war stress, Bella’s rejection for pups and above all, the university video disaster.

Hence, after an extremely energy draining run with my clothes in my mouth, my legs gave me away and I went crashing down a grassy hill, only to crash right into a huge, sturdy tree, making it fall on the ground, just after the painful impact.

I groaned as my Lycan body curled up into a messed up, bloody pile but even in my sinking unconsciousness, I held on to my clothes which still had Bella’s scent all over them, luring me to a peaceful death if that is what this was.

During the last few moments of consciousness, I felt a strong pair of arms lift my Lycan body before I finally surrendered to the darkness.

Dominic’s POV

Last I knew was my mates were having a torrid weekend, marathon fuck session but when I sensed Bella’s presence in the coven’s hospital on our way to check on Amanda, it seemed like my mind had short circuited and I could not breathe, thinking of the worst of worst scenarios for why my immensely powerful, royal blooded warrior princess was in the hospital !!

I had feared the worst but when Bella kept murmuring and crying for Kai even in her unconscious state, I had not fathomed that the Beta Lycan, who looked after his Alpha like a baby and protected her from everything like a true guardian, could even think of rejecting her ever !

“The fever is not going down, Your Majesty. It seems like she has gone into an internal shock and the pain of rejection is not helping matters either. We will have to use the last resort to drug her to a temporary coma for the night. We need your permission, Sir”, the pack doctor quickly said before gesturing for the nurses to change the fast warming, wet towels on Bella’s forehead.

My face fell at this revelation and I could only manage to nod my head and choke out a “Yes, go ahead. Whatever saves her”, I gave them the go ahead before sinking into the couch beside her bed and watch the doctor and his team work and use unfamiliar kinds of drugs.

Soon enough my mind started to wander towards the mystery of crazy wild love turning into a fucking rejection.

My mind went to the hypocrite Beta’s chuckling and teasing advice when I was chasing after the naughty, naked vixen through the hallways of his empty apartment once, “The right man breaks the headboard and not your heart ! Don’t you dare hurt me, Vampire King !!”, he had said with a heart warming laugh before I had caught him and had spanked the naughty Lycan’s tight ass after hauling and securing him over my shoulder.

Sigh !

Those were some happy times.

I thought we all were going strong.

Then when did we come to this ?

Suddenly I jolted out of my seat when something vibrated in my pocket before the culprit phone started ringing and creating a chaos in the pin drop silent room.

I took the call without even looking at the caller ID before stepping out of the room.

“Hello ?”, I said.
