Blazer POV

“Damn Quin!”

She slobbered on my dick before devouring it again.

What was I doing?

Quin showed up an hour ago. I don’t know why she even bothered when Elaine didn’t live here anymore, but Quin had always been a social climber. Neel had no use for her anymore so she came back to the person she tossed to the side.

I was no one’s sloppy seconds but Quin knew my weaknesses and I was subdued easily.

Though, I wasn’t feeling it. I had one woman on my mind and she wanted nothing to do with me. I fucked up with Francine and if she magically found out about this then I was further screwed.

I fisted Quin’s hair. It would be easy to fuck her face and get myself off but I pulled her off instead.

“What?” Quin scowled.

“I’ve got things to do,” I grumbled.

She plants her hands on my thighs keeping me from standing up.

“What’s wrong with you? You changed.”

“I’m just not in the mood, Quin.”

She stood and crossed her arms. “You’d be in the mood if I was Francine. She’s a Blood Moon wolf, she’s worthless!”

“Don’t talk about her like that!” I barked, shoving my dick back in my pants.

Just her name made my cock twitch.

“If she was so important she would be here with you. You’re so unserious, Blazer.”

Here we go again. Maybe it was just easier to pick on me than Nik.

My reputation didn’t help me. I couldn’t help it I liked to drink and I loved beautiful women but lately I loved one woman and she didn’t love me back. I teamed up with Azaire, Elaine’s mate to bring down my wolf enhancer dealers. I wanted that to be the thing that brought Francine back to me. I wanted a second chance. I was different now I could feel it. The only reason I used wolf enhancers was because Dad and the Alpha General were on me for not being fast enough and strong enough. I was constantly being compared to Nik.

I wanted an upper hand and I wanted it quickly.

The wolf enhancers made me stronger in training and faster during the hunts. It pissed Nik off that I was suddenly stronger but he didn’t suspect I was using enhancers.

I couldn’t stop using them now though. I’d lose my abilities.

“If you were half as serious as some of the other males in this Pack you’d challenge Nik to be Alpha.”

I paused and glanced over my shoulder. “Who told you I want to be Alpha?”

“Why wouldn’t you? Don’t you want to prove everyone wrong?”

“I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Neel’s not here he’s probably found himself another nice petite woman to warm his bed. You know what I think I saw him with Jennifer the other day.”

I marched out of my room and slammed the door behind her.

“Dude, Dad wants us in his study,” Nik said.

I nodded.

I followed my brother to our Dad’s study. He was by his desk as usual and the old witch was next to him.

I knew my Dad was a piece of work but what he pulled with Elaine’s Mom was beyond cruel and Avena knew about it! She’s continuously tried to kill Elaine as well. My Dad’s a monster and she’s a sea witch with tentacles.

“Boys,” he said.

“Alpha,” Nik and I said in unison.

“Things are about to change. I’ve decided after all these years to take a Luna.”

I shook my head. Did I hear that right?

“You’re getting married again?” I asked.

Nik stiffened but as usual, didn’t question anything.

Dad smiled. “Aren’t you going to congratulate me, Blazer?”

“Sure, but I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.”

“There’s no need for that. Avena’s been by my side for a long time,” Dad replied.

I fought the urge to throw up. Dad and Avena? I never thought he’d stoop so low.

I turned to Nik. He was stiff and stone-faced.

“Aren’t you going to say anything?” I asked Nik.

He raised his chin and shoulders. “When’s the wedding?”

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I mumbled.

“In three days and don’t worry about your sister. Elaine will be home soon.” Dad stood from his desk.

Elaine wants nothing to do with this Pack. What’s he on about?

“I’ve got things to do. Avena’s handling everything concerning the mating ceremony.”

I shook my head but one thing about my Dad was he hated being questioned. The council wouldn’t allow this. Mating outside our species was forbidden. It was a shock Elaine was half-witch! Though, I guess Dad had a type.

Nik marched out as soon as Dad did. He was pissed but he was programmed to never ask questions. I swear he was like a robot sometimes.

It was just Avena and me. We never got along. However, she hated Elaine more than me.

“You don’t look too happy Blazer. Don’t like the idea of having a stepmother?”

I smirked. “All those years of kissing ass finally paid off huh?”

“It was always going to end this way.”

“I’m impressed I thought you were going to remain an old maid forever.”

She smirked. “Things are about to change and you need to decide whose side you’re on, Little Boy.”

“I don’t know what you’re on about but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. It’s against sacred law to mate witches you know this.”

She threw her head back and laughed. “That should be the least of your worries. What is your Father going to say when he learns about your little alliance with the Shaw boys?”

Fuck. How did she know about that?

“Who cares about what he’s going to say? What is he going to do? He’ll skin you alive.”

“Are you losing it, Avena?”

“Don’t play dumb. I know what you’re planning. I wouldn’t have thought of you as a traitor but I’ll blame your good-for-nothing sister.”

“Don’t talk about her like that. She was smart enough to get her ass out of this hell whole.”

Avena laughed. “She’ll be back. Your Dad’s going to banish you for treason.”

I looked away.

“If you get rid of the wolf enhancers you’re making the Blood Moon Pack stronger. He doesn’t have to know though. All you have to do is pick the winning team.”

I rubbed my forehead. “How-”

“How did I know? You’re trying to take down my operation. This is my town I know everything.”

“You’re behind the wolf enhancers!”

She waved me away. “Your Father knows. So here’s the plan. You work with me now. You’re going to betray Elaine and her precious mate.”

I couldn’t do that.

“If not then I’ll tell your Father.”

I couldn’t let that happen either.

“To add fuel to the fire if you don’t join me I’ll put your Mother in the ground. You’ll never see her alive.”

I’m screwed.
