Tasting The Enemy

Chapter 51

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about Richie!”

“I didn’t know you rejected Nik!”

Opal bit her bottom lip and squeezed her bag. Azaire, the boys and I arrived in Ophelia Falls after midnight. Azaire and I went back to his apartment. We were exhausted but I felt the pull of the Heat in my loins but exhaustion won that battle.

Opal and I walked along the small stores in the Black Claw Pack while our significant others were out taking care of business.

“Yeah, well I had to reject Nik. Things weren’t going anywhere with us.”

“Does he know about Richie?”

“No! And you can’t tell him either.”

I chuckled. “Opal, I haven’t spoken to my brothers since I left unless you count Lawrence.”

“Lawrence? Who’s that?” Opal stopped and stared at me.

“Oh, right. I have another older brother.”

Her jaw dropped. “Is he hot?”

“Opal!”

“Right, I shouldn’t ask that I’m dating someone.”

“And he’s my brother it’s totally gross.”

“Yeah, there’s that. Alright, let’s go.”

Opal walked into a store called ‘Kinky Delights’. I paused for a second then followed her inside.

“Opal, what are we doing in a sex shop?” I hissed.

“Nothing, Elaine we’re just getting lube. The Heat’s coming and I want to be prepared.”

I’d never been in a store like this before. It was bright and colourful with pink streamers hanging from the ceiling and some erotic artwork on the walls. Opal and I were the only ones in the store. Before I realised she darted off to the vibrator section.

“It’s going to be a long week and Richie won’t be with me the entire time.”

I hadn’t thought this Heat thing through.

“You should pick something Elaine. Look flavour condoms!”

Can the ground just open up and swallow me?

“You want to make your first Heat interesting right?” Opal smirked as she fiddled with the dick-shaped vibrators.

“I don’t think Azaire would want any of this stuff.”

“Come on handcuffs at least!”

I could just imagine Azaire’s face if I came home with a vibrating dick. However, an hour later I left the store with a tiny bag with handcuffs, satin rope and a bottle of lube, unlike Opal who had a whole bag full of stuff. Richie’s in trouble, I thought.

We drove to the Blood Moon Pack when we finished our spontaneous shopping spree. Azaire’s car was parked in the driveway alongside several others which could mean they were in a meeting.

“What does your Mom think about your relationship, Opal?” I asked.

She gripped the stirring wheel and exhaled. “My parents don’t know. I haven’t been home in weeks. If word gets out about this then they may lose their spot as High Betas. They would never forgive me.”

“Really?”

“You know what your Dad’s like. He hates the Blood Moon Pack.”

If it wasn’t for the blood bond I made with him then I would be dead to him or dead. I wouldn’t put anything past him at this point.

We walked through the front door and straight into an argument.

“I’m not doing it!” Oliver blasted.

“You know what? I’m done with you, you’re fired Oliver,” Richie blasted.

I froze. Opal and I stared at each other.

“You can’t fire me. I have every right to be here. I have a right to be Alpha too!”

“Alright, relax, Oliver don’t lose your head,” Azaire said, boredom thick in his tone.

He didn’t take his cousin seriously.

“The mantle of Alpha belongs to the strongest wolf from the family bloodline. Hell, I bet I’m stronger than Richie.”

“I think I’m stronger than Richie too but that doesn’t mean I can be Alpha,” Luca spat.

“Shut up,” Richie barked. I could imagine him shoving his little brother to the side.

“I’m out of here,” Oliver yelled.

“Good,” Richie said.

Oliver marched through us shoving us each as he stormed out of the house.

“Move!”

“Hey,” I spat.

“Not our fault he’s a loser,” Opal scowled and brushed her shoulder. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

The meeting ended when Oliver stormed out. I couldn’t imagine what they were discussing.

“Hey Gorgeous,” Azaire said opening his arm. I slipped into his embrace and wrapped my arms around his neck.

I noticed Megan, Ross and Winter in the room too. I stiffened a little. It didn’t look like Megan and Winter got long but Ross was loving it judging by the smirk on his face and the scowls of either woman.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

Azaire shook his head. “Nothing babe. Oliver’s just being a brat.”

I watched as Richie took Opal into his arms and held her as if she were his reason to live. It was beautiful! He buried his face in her neck and placed small kisses on her skin. Azaire tugged me, bringing my attention back to him. I felt the sudden urge to drag Azaire back to his old bedroom, strip him naked and take him in the back of my throat- as if I could, but the desire was strong!

Azaire pressed his lips against my cheek, his right hand travelled down my back and stopped just above my ass.

“I know, Beautiful,” he said.

“So can we get out of here?”

He chuckled. He wrapped me in his meaty arms. I felt smaller than I was but I also felt protected.

“We’re setting up the trap, mate.”

I pouted. “Are you turning me down?”

Azaire frowned. “No, but-”

“Sounds like it.” My attempt to wiggle out of his hold failed miserably because this man was massive.

“Don’t be like that babe.” He pleaded.

I wasn’t really mad but the intense desire to fuck Azaire where he stood was replaced by the urge to return to the Black Claw Pack. I suddenly missed my old room, the feel of my sheets and the smell of my old bathroom. I wanted to stroll around the lonely halls of my old home and betas marching in and out of the house. I didn’t think I’d miss that place.

“Okay, babe, I’ll just take you with me and we’ll find time for a quick one.”

I shook my head. “What?”

“You’re coming to work with me.”

“Oh… okay.”

“Are you okay?” He lifted my chin and stroked my bottom lip.

“I think I’m fine. Anyway, I’ll be your sidekick today.”

He smirked.

“What? I can kick some ass.”

He barked out a laugh. “You’re adorable.”

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and walked us out of the living room.
