Chapter 41
"Jessica, I've received a message just now. Your second aunt has just passed away in a car accident," Suddenly, Monica interrupted in agony.
Jessica's eyes darkened as soon as she heard that. Subconsciously, she loosened her grip on her phone. It dropped onto the ground, and its screen shattered into pieces.
"I left a note to tell Trevor that something emergency had happened, so I had no choice but to leave. Why? Why did he have to make a move on the Queen family? Does he know I've lost my mother, grandmother, my family's reputation and status because of him? Is that not enough for him? My second aunt is the only one in the Queen family who will care about my grandma and me. Why? Why did he have to take away my last family member?" she shouted inwardly.
Initially, she wanted to tell Trevor about Bennett's identity. However, she forced herself to swallow her words now. Squatting down, she picked up her phone.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Mr. Gulliford, can you still hear me?" She suppressed her despair and asked in a low voice.
"Where are you?" There was a tinge of indescribable anger in Trevor's words. He could not believe that Jessica had escaped soon after he went out.
"That's not important. Are you in the Gulliford residence now? I'll come back now."
Fortunately, the hardware of Jessica's phone was not spoiled. Otherwise, she wouldn't even be able to talk to him now.
After hanging up the call, Jessica hailed a cab to head to the Gulliford residence.
Meanwhile, Trevor's eyes were blazing with fuming anger as he sat on the couch in the Gulliford residence. "You bunch of useless trash! I can't believe you guys couldn't even stop a woman."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Gulliford. Ms. Jackson is just too impressive in combatting! We couldn't even see her move clearly!" The row of bodyguards stood in front of the coffee table with their heads hung low. "Did she say anything before leaving?" Trevor lifted his head to look at Lina.
"No. I thought she would at least leave a message. But then, I couldn't find anything after searching her room," Lina replied while fiddling with the rag in her hands. Her voice was calm.
"You guys can leave now." Trevor waved his hand. Lowering his eye, he leaned against the couch and waited for Jessica to come home.
A moment later, he heard a commotion beside him. However, he was too lazy to open his eyes.
After all, he didn't sleep at all the night before. Now that he had closed his eyes, he couldn't help but feel sleepy.
"Mr. Gulliford." A gentle, soft voice rang out.
As soon as Trevor heard that voice, he opened his eyes abruptly in shock. It had been five years, but that voice and tone had only appeared before in his dream.
Jessica kneeled in front of him obediently. Struggling, she used all her might to bend her broken leg.
"What's wrong?" Trevor opened his thin lips while moving his back away from the couch.
"Yolanda's son has been diagnosed with leukemia, but she doesn't even know who the child's father is.
You're the only one who has Rh-negative blood in the entire Horington. Please save him. I'll do anything for you as long as you promise to help him." Jessica was sincere. The moment she finished her sentence, she lowered her head onto the ground to beg him. "Anything?" Trevor narrowed his eyes and fell into deep thought.
"Yes. Anything!" Nodding, Jessica lifted her head to look at him desperately.
"All right." He stood up and walked over to her.
Reaching out his slender fingers, he clenched her chin. "Move to the graveyard starting from today. Kneel in front of Sammie's tombstone and bow 500 times every day to pay for the sins you've done."
"No problem. As long as you're willing to donate your bone marrow to that child, I'll move to the graveyard now." Jessica nodded her head vigorously, ignoring the pain on herchin.
"Okay. I'm a man of his word. I'll go to the hospital now." Trevor released his grip on her chin.
Turning around, he asked his driver to get the car ready to send him to the hospital.
In fact, he didn't only do that for Jessica. Yolanda was also his friend. Moreover, he liked Bennett a lot too.
Jessica was afraid that Trevor would go back on his word. Immediately, she hailed a cab to the graveyard and kneeled in front of Samantha's tombstone. She bowed at it again and again under the sun.
