Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 819

Chapter 819:

Verruckt remained stoic, his voice icy. “You want it? Come take it yourself.”

His indifferent gaze met Fiona’s. It was the same dismissive look he gave the others.

Yet something inside Fiona stirred. She believed that she meant more to him, and she took a step forward.

The leader intervened urgently. “No, Miss Smith! This man is dangerous. He’s playing you!”

Fiona shot him a withering look. “Enough.”

She inhaled deeply, her gaze locked on Verruckt. “You won’t hurt me, will you?”noveldrama

Verruckt’s smirk was a mix of disdain and amusement. “Of course not.”

The leader was unconvinced.

“Miss Smith, don’t be fooled. He’s a monster!”

He positioned himself protectively in front of Fiona.

“Please, think of your safety.”

But Fiona’s attention was solely fixed on Verruckt.

“I’m not afraid. Don’t try to stop me.”

Ever since she first laid eyes on this enigmatic man in her father’s office, his mysterious presence had captivated her.

She didn’t perceive the situation as perilous. Rather, Fiona felt she was on the brink of love.

“Step aside,” she commanded firmly. “Staying here will only escalate to a deadly showdown. Let me talk to him.”

“But…” The leader faltered, trying to signal his men. Before he could react, Fiona had already darted past him, heading straight for Verruckt.

The leader reached out to stop her, but Fiona deftly avoided him.

She approached Verruckt with determination, seemingly walking into the lion’s den.

Idiotic! The leader’s blood ran cold at the sight. Yet, Fiona, unaware of the impending danger, looked up at Verruckt with a hopeful smile.

“Hand over the drug, and I’ll get you out of here.”

But Verruckt’s response was chilling. He drew a knife, pressing it swiftly against her throat.

“Fiona, you shouldn’t trust a man’s words so easily.”

Verruckt’s disdain for the Immortality Group was well-known. His contempt had only deepened after they had harassed Allison.

“You…” Fiona’s heart raced, and she was overwhelmed with panic.

The icy touch of the blade against her throat sent a surge of terror through her.
