Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 802

Chapter 802:

At her words, Colton’s fury seemed to ignite. His expression darkened, a storm brewing in his eyes as he seized her by the shoulders.

“Melany, how could you be so heartless as to set Devin on Allison!”

The memory of Allison’s narrow escape was etched in his mind. If Kellan hadn’t arrived just in time, she would have plummeted into a vat of boiling oil.

Melany gasped for air, struggling under his firm grip. “Let… let go…”

Her face flushed a deep red. The man she knew, now before her, was unrecognizable — dangerous and terrifying. His hands tightened, his intentions clear and frightening. Colton had always been gentle, never once resorting to violence. But now, Melany realized that she needed to defuse this explosive moment. If she didn’t, her life as Mrs. Stevens might crumble to nothing.noveldrama

“I know… I can’t match Allison. I have wealth, but it’s lonely at the top. I was shunned by my peers, tormented by so-called friends. You were the only beacon in my gloomy world…”

Colton’s grip remained unyielding, his eyes a tumult of fury. Gone was the gentle concern that once softened his gaze.

Melany’s tears fell freely, each drop heavy with despair. “No one has ever shown me the genuine kindness you have. Terrified of losing you, I resorted to desperate measures when I returned home.”

Her sobs grew louder, each breath a struggle.

“Colton, you’re all I have left.”

At her words, Colton’s disgust surged, and he finally let her go.

“Melany, I can’t discern the truth in your words anymore!” His mind wandered back to times with Allison. Allison, unlike Melany, never clung to phrases like “You’re the only one I have.”

This reflection deepened his gloom. Allison, the gentle soul he had once ignored, had slowly pulled away from him, never leaning on him for support. Only after their divorce had he realized that her interests were diverse: skating, painting, pottery, design… Despite his indifference, Allison had thrived, growing steadfast like a majestic oak. Yet, he was ensnared in the past.

Melany, on the other hand, brought something new. She made him feel essential, like her personal hero. He enjoyed this feeling so much that he was even blinded by it. Eventually, he saw the truth, but it was too late.

“It’s over. Let’s get a divorce.”

With these final words, Colton turned to leave.

Melany felt as if the earth had slipped from beneath her feet upon hearing his decision. Remembering their recent reckless escapade, she realized that she had one last card to play.

“Colton, you can divorce me, but what about the baby?” Her tears flowed as she gripped his sleeve. “Do you want our child to grow up without a father?”

Colton stiffened, his voice tight. “What did you say?”
