Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 1008

Chapter 1008:

But Allison kept walking toward her.

“You want to throw yourself into the sea? Fine. But I’ll jump in to save you. Even if you’ve lost all hope, I’ll do everything I can to pull you out — unless you plan to drag me down with you.”

Amya stood frozen, shocked by what she heard. Before she could respond, she saw Allison walking toward her, step by step. The strong wind tousled Allison’s hair, but her gaze remained steady and clear.

“Amya, do you think I’m the type to be afraid of anything?”

“No… no…” Amya stuttered, her voice trembling. She wanted to tell Allison that she was the bravest person she had ever known. In every way, Allison was far ahead of others, whether it was in strength or strategy. Allison wasn’t even scared of a killer holding explosives.

“So, you should know, I’m not scared of a couple of crooks. I’ve got plenty of ways to deal with them. You don’t need to feel stressed.” As Allison spoke, she kept walking toward Amya.

Anger almost took over, but Allison still kept her cool. She held her rage in check and remained calm. For a moment, she wished she could reach into her past.

“You’re amazing now. You’re great with computers. The difference between you and your parents is like night and day. They can’t touch you anymore. You’re not the helpless kid they used to control. Whether this relationship keeps going is up to you, not them. I hope you stop running and find the strength to keep fighting, no matter how tough it gets. After all, there’s nothing left to lose. It’s better to fight to the end with everything you’ve got. This is the path of self-realization I’ve learned.”

Amya’s voice cracked. “I don’t know…”

She thought about everything she’d been through, and it felt like she was sinking into quicksand.

“Then force yourself to face it!” Allison said firmly, quickly closing the gap between them as Amya hesitated. “You still have a life ahead of you. Don’t throw it away just in your mind.” Allison’s gaze remained locked on Amya as she spoke. She was close enough to touch her in just three steps.

Amya cried out, “I did think about giving up, but I… Ah!”

Before she could finish her words, the gravel beneath her feet slipped. She lost her balance and fell backward. It was completely unexpected. In that split second, the sharp, freezing wind hit her, and behind her stretched the endless ocean.

In that life-threatening moment, Amya realized she wasn’t as indifferent as she had once believed. Her body shook. It was as if her body was pleading for help from her mind.

“I want to live!” a voice shouted inwardly.

Amya understood, deep inside, she longed to live—to experience the kind of life Allison had described. She didn’t want to die young in the freezing sea. But now, it seemed impossible. It felt too late.

The wind blew her tears away, and she felt sure the crashing waves would carry her off.noveldrama
