Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 157: Becoming a Father

Killian's POV

I couldn't bring myself to look Giselle in the eye after confessing everything and apologizing for how I had treated her.

Silence fell between us as soon as I finished my words. My heart constricted, and I felt suffocated by the thick tension in the air.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

I waited with bated breath for her response until, out of the corner of my eye, she suddenly moved.

My eyes turned back to Giselle, wondering what she was about to do. I watched as Giselle slowly turned to her attendant standing behind her in wait.

Carefully, she handed our son over to the attendant's arms. Then, they all left, giving us privacy and taking the baby with them.

My gaze connected with Giselle's. Now that we were finally alone, I felt more dumbfounded, not knowing what to expect.

Before going inside the room, I had braced myself, anticipating that she wouldn't easily forgive me. I even imagined she would refuse to talk to me, more so, be left inside the room with me.

But Giselle did none of those things. Instead, she met my gaze, and then she grabbed both of my hands, wrapping them with hers.

"Killian," Giselle whispered weakly as she stared into my eyes. "I was never angry with you, and I've never blamed you for anything." Giselle forced a smile on her face, but her eyes betrayed her.

I could see the tears threatening at the back of her eyes.

I couldn't believe my ears as Giselle's words washed over me. I remained kneeling in front of her, my heart swelling with a torrent of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.

A man like me deserved hatred from a woman like her. I had completely misjudged her. Hearing her words made me realize that I was mistaken by her. She is still that kind and gentle person that I knew when we were still dating before I found out that Astrid was my mate. As his ex-boyfriend, I should have known her better, yet I had doubted her and punished her without any proper evidence against her.

Giselle leaned forward as she reached out a trembling hand, trying her best to gently guide me to my feet. "You don't need to kneel before me, Killian," she murmured. "You are my Alpha, I don't deserve such respect from you."

Her words struck me like a thunderbolt, shattering the walls of guilt and despair that had surrounded me.

Not only had she forgiven me, but she had never truly blamed me at all. The realization left me humbled, my eyes stinging with unshed tears.

"Giselle, I've done so many terrible things," I confessed, my voice thick with remorse. "I swear to you, I will try to make it up to you."

Giselle silenced me with a delicate gesture, her eyes shining with a fragile strength. "You do not have to, Killian. I don't want you to torment yourself further. All I want is for you to trust me this time and never doubt me again.

I could see the vulnerability in her expression, yet there was forgiveness in her gaze that left me awestruck, and I found myself nodding in a solemn promise.

"Of course, I will never do that again Giselle. I will try my best to be a good father to our child and I promise to protect you and never hurt you like this again," I spoke determinedly as I looked into her eyes with a solemn vow.

Giselle suddenly lowered her head. "I

know you would be a good father,

Killian. I had never doubted that. For the sake of our son, you were willing to give up everything and be wit

I fell silent at her words. I looked at her with brows furrowed with guilt.

"I know you still like Astrid, Killian. I never had a place in your heart. If I didn't become pregnant, all of this wouldn't happen," Giselle uttered remorsefully.

"Giselle, you are the mother of my child. You bore me a child and that just shows how much you care for me even though I was a jerk to you. was a bad person that I caused you to regret bringing a life to this world," I reassured her, not wanting her to blame herself.

"How about Astrid?" Giselle slowly lifted her gaze up to me.

I froze at her question, my eyes unblinking. I had doubted Giselle because of the lies that I heard. I was so convinced that the child in Astrid's womb was mine because I was stupid to hope that there would still be a chance between us.

Clearly, the child that Astrid was carrying wasn't mine. I only slept with one woman, and that is Giselle. The DNA test proves that.

Drystan and Astrid had colluded together to fool me. They were telling the truth for the first time. Drystan is really the father of Astrid's child.

"Astrid already have Drystan and I have my son. From now on, I cannot let anything to destroy us again. Right now, all I want is what is best for our son," I answered her question

I have already harmed my child because of me. His life was endangered. It was luck that he survived, but he still didn't escape completely and had contracted autism.

I have to be more careful, and I have to keep my promise, especially for my child with special needs.
