“Please stop the acts. I’m not in the mood for your drama.” Cathy said as she took a piece of face wipe to wipe off the sweat on her face, she couldn’t remember the last time she applied make-up.

A lot was happening in her environment and she didn’t have an idea who was behind it and it worried her so much.

” What are you talking about Cathy? You’re believing what Nelly is saying to you?” Axl asked, hoping he still had a point to use on her. He really needed her at this point especially when his dad had assured him that the company would be his soon.

” Yes I am. You drugged me. Tell me why you did that.”

He was taken aback and had not expected Cathy to remember everything. He was mute for some seconds and blinked his eyes vigorously.

” Cat got your tongue? Axl I didn’t know you could stoop to such a level.” She spat in disgust.

He said nothing and Left the room. Cathy didn’t bother to stop him. She had lots of things on her mind especially the fact that her mother was Caroline. She had forgotten to ask Mr. Anderson if her mother and him shared an intimate relationship but she was sure it would be no use. He was going to deny it,

Then she remembered Demetrio, he had still not called her even though it was more than a day. She was worried and decided to give him a call. She called and luckily the call went through, he answered after a ring.

” Thank Heavens! I’ve been trying to reach Dementrio. Did you see my text?”she asked.

” Yes I did. My girlfriend…she fainted so I had to rush her to the hospital.” He explained.

” Sorry about that. How is she?”

” She’s better now.”

” Are you with your friend, Alexia Bachman? I want to speak with her. It’s just a question.”

” She’s not here? Can you give me your message? I will give it to her.”

” Sure, do ask her. What is the name of the brand that she has…like the bag she carried the day we met?” Cathy had asked with high hopes.

” Is it Caroline?”

” Yes…how did you know?” Cathy was surprised.

” I have seen the brand, it’s unique so I asked her. Although she claimed it’s her mother’s own .” He finally revealed.

” Her mother? Please explain.”

” I will do that later, the doctor is here.”

He ended the call immediately, and she felt dejected. Everything was becoming complicated, the only way she could find out who Alexia Bachman was to talk to a fashion manager.

She grabbed her car keys from the bedside table to go out but decided to check on Nelly first and tell her where she was going.

She knew Nelly won’t be comfortable staying at home alone with them especially as she suspects them of killing her mother.

As she looked at the room, she searched the drawer and cupboard if she could find any pictures of her family or anything leading to the fact that Mr. Anderson really was behind the death of her mother.

She was still searching when the door flunged open, she turned to look at the intruder in fright but was relieved when she saw it was Mr. Anderson.

” It’s not right to barge into someone’s room. Mr. Anderson and you know that.”

” The last time I checked. This house is mine.” He said with all authority.

” What do you want? I’m not in the mood now .” She turned around to continue her search.

” What are you doing with Cathy? I thought I got rid of you?”

“Got rid of me? Just like you did to my mother and Cathy’s parents?”she questiones in anger

” You know so much and act so smart. I’ve been able to use Cathy emotionally. I don’t think you can convince her by showing her lame evidence.”

” I know why you’re scared. It’s because you think I’m here to get the properties. You forget that I have my own share, The Chester’s mansion, Enterprise and the Newspaper was written in my name. Cathy has just the other companies.”

“What? That’s impossible.”

“Better believe my dear father-in-law,” she mocked before going to the bathroom.

He was visibly upset and angry but did nothing, he didn’t want to create a scene that Cathy would doubt him more than she does now.

He finally left the room after waiting for some minutes and discovering that she wouldn’t come so soon.

As soon as he opened the door, his eyes met with Cathy. He was shocked.

Had she been listening to his conversation with Nelly? He thought.

” Father…what are you doing here? Did you come to scold Nelly again?” She asked.

Mr. Anderson breathed in relief after hearing she hadn’t eavesdropped on their conversation.

“I only came to warn her to stop feeding you with lies. I won’t take it.”

“Father? I thought we’d discussed this?”

” Are you okay Cathy?” They looked and saw it was Nelly, Mr. Anderson rolled his eyes in disgust before leaving.

” Sorry about your father’s behavior. U have never disobeyed him before.”

“I understand, are you going out?”

” Yes … I want to speak to a fashion brand manager.”

“I can’t come with you now.. I want to talk to Mr. Anderson.”

” Stop being stubborn Nelly. Please, he’s still My Father-in-law.” Cathy had defended, even though she was angry with Me. Anderson for hiding the truth from her. She still respected him for deciding to save her life.

” I understand , then I will come with you. I can’t promise I will stay here and not start up a fight.”

” Can I drop you off?”

She turned to look and discovered it was Axl.

“No, we are fine and can manage on our own.” She muttered.

Immediately Cathy was out of sight, Axl held Nelly by her hair. She tried to scream out in pain but he used one hand to cover her mouth and the other held tight to her hair.
