Chapter 5 Not Someone You Can Afford to Mess With

“Well, it was a misunderstanding…”

As Jordan was talking, his legs trembled. He went down on his knees.

The man ignored him and started punching and kicking him. He was being as rough as he could.

Kenneth sat down on the sofa and started drinking nonchalantly. His pose was so elegant he looked

like a prince. His clear yet chilly eyes were sizing me up and down and I was frightened to death.

I couldn’t leave and I didn’t want to stay. I was stuck here.

I had never met someone with such a big presence. He was just sitting there nonchalantly, but he was

giving out a formidable aura. I was thinking that since he didn’t expose me in front of Jordan, he

shouldn’t probably hold anything against me after this.

Something was going on between Kenneth and Jordan, his subordinate beat Jordan up really badly.

Jordan’s underlings were standing outside the door with their head hung low, not one came in to help

their boss.

“Sir?” The man called out to Kenneth respectfully as he felt like he hit Jordan enough already.

“Clear up the room!”

“Yes!” The man nodded and kicked Jordan as hard as he could one more time, “Walk with your eyes

open next time, get lost!”

“Yes, yes!”

Very quickly, Jordan’s underlings rushed into the room and helped Jordan up. They ran away as quickly

as they could and Jordan had blood all over his face.

I was relieved and was about to thank Kenneth when I heard him said coldly, “I have a lot of enemies. If RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

you don’t want to die so soon, don’t use my name like that in the future.”

“…Yes sir. I thank you very much, Mr. Quinn. I wouldn’t be doing that again!”

I knew that I shouldn’t push my luck. The man didn’t care about me using his name this time and I

should be very grateful. I thought about pouring him a drink. I put up my best smile and walked over to

do so,

“Mr. Quinn, I’m very grateful for your help. Please let me pour you a drink.”

“Get lost!”

I had to retract my hand hanging in the air awkwardly. I bowed deeply and left the room immediately.

My legs gave out the moment I left the room. The ladies who were hiding in the corner quickly ran up to

me, they looked at me teary-eyed.

“It’s all good now, let’s go!”

I smiled as if nothing had happened, and the girls helped me back to the resting room. I called the front

desk and found out that the bastard Jordan had a VIP card here. The money on the card was enough

for him to spend a whole year here.

I quickly removed my make-up and was going to go home after I changed. It was already 4 in the

morning and I was exhausted.

As I was about to leave, I comforted the girls again. I told them not to be worried about Jordon trying to

take his revenge. I was about to be done with packing when Molly walked over with a creepy look on

her face. She leaned on the door and looked at me in disdain.

“Barbara, I didn’t know that you had ties with Kenneth Quinn. When did that happen? You’re amazing.”

I knew that she was looking for a fight just by hearing the uncanny tone of voice she was using with

me.

I managed to get more business than her and she hated me because of that.

My relationship with Kenneth was a fluke and hence I didn’t want to say anything more. I pushed her

out of the way gently. She didn’t stop me, but she muttered something behind me.

“Just a reminder, he’s not someone you can afford to mess with. You shouldn’t play with fire if you don’t

want to die young. You better not push your luck if he’s giving you the cold-shoulder already.”
