No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle felt Cedric treated her differently from others. She had once misunderstood that he might like her, too, since he was always so kind. In the end, she realized it was just her overthinking.

Cedric felt like something was stuck in his throat. After a long pause, he finally said, "It's not impossible."

Noelle's heart skipped a beat. What did he mean by that?

Cedric continued, "Since you've cut ties with your brother, you can think of me as your family from now on."

"I don't need another brother," Noelle replied, standing up. "I'm full. I'll go pack my things."

She left with a hint of disappointment.

Cedric watched Noelle's back with a complicated look in his eyes. Alfred walked in and asked, "Done talking? Are you ready to let go this time?"

Cedric remained silent. He tipped back his glass of red wine, finishing it in one go. Noelle's feelings were clear to him, but he felt he wasn't deserving.

The next day, Noelle went straight to the airport. She turned to look at Cedric, then walked up and hugged him. "I'm leaving. Thank you for being here for me. I will never forget you."

Noelle reluctantly let go, feeling a little embarrassed.

Alfred stepped in. "I want a hug, too."

Cedric blocked Alfred with a serious expression. "There's no time. Let's get her to the gate."

"Don't worry. I'll take care of Nelly," Alfred reassured him.

Noelle gave Cedric one last glance, then walked away with her suitcase.

Two hours later, their plane landed at Yasnia Airport. Noelle stepped out, feeling a little nervous. "I wonder if our company's project will stand out at this event," she said.

"Have some confidence," Alfred said with a grin.

He had to admit that Noelle had real talent. At first, he thought Cedric was simply paving the way for her but it turned out her abilities were entirely her own. The two of them arrived at the investment summit.

Noelle carried her materials and projects to the display area. Alfred wore a

baseball cap to cover his face and followed Noelle inside.

He quickly scanned the area and saw a familiar face. "I'll head to the restroom. Nelly, you can manage on your own for a bit."

Noelle nodded. After arranging her

materials and sitting down, she looked up and saw Frank walking toward her. She immediately

truly a stroke of bad luck.

Frank noticed her and walked over. "Noelle, I didn't expect to see you here!"

Lucas frowned and scrutinized Noelle. "Noelle, why are you wearing Maple Enterprise's clothes? Don't you know their company is in direct competition with Frank?"

Hearing that, Noelle chuckled coldly. She raised her gaze and coldly said, "I know."

"Why are you working part-time at

Maple Enterprise? If you need

money, just tell us. Even though Donovan cut off your card, Frank

and I would never let you go without pocket money," Lucas added

He was upset. After all, Noelle was part of the Liddell family. Why would she work for their competitor?

Noelle stood up. "I have no relationship with the Liddell family anymore. Where I work has nothing to do with you."

Lucas angrily continued, "Noelle, even if you dislike Donovan, you can't treat Frank like this."
