My Mute Wife

Chapter 63 Collaboration

In the following morning, Lexie insisted on being discharged from the hospital.

Kevin took a half day off to send her back to Howard’s house.

“My mother is not at home today, so you can rest for the day,” Kevin helped her back to her room and said, “Even if you are at home, you should rest well and never move around, this injury of yours will take at least another three to five days to fully heal.”

Lexie nodded, [Thank you.]

The corner of Kevin’s eye glanced at a sneaky figure at the door and deliberately raised his voice, “There are some servants in the Howard family who have been here for a long time and have forgotten their identity, although I am not the owner of this house, I can still make the decision to dismiss one or two servants.”

The figure at the door shifted for a moment, and after a while, Marry walked out in panic, “Mr. Kevin, I am just concerned about Mrs. Howard and came to see if there was anything I could do to help.”

Kevin snorted coldly, “Is that so? Not here to spy on us?”

Marry blushed.

There was a warning in Kevin’s tone, “I have to go back to work this afternoon, serve Mrs. Howard well or my cousin won’t spare you if anything happens to her.”

Marry nodded, not daring to say more.

When Kevin left, she stood in the doorway and looked at Lexie, saying grimly, “Mrs. Howard, what would you like to eat tonight? I’ll have the kitchen prepare it.”

Lexie shook her head.

[I don’t have appetite, just leave me alone and close the door for me.]

“Eat some, I’ll have the kitchen prepare some porridge for you.”

Marry’s change made Lexie puzzled, but she only thought that Kevin’s words just now had worked, and didn’t think much of it.

“Then you can rest, and I’ll bring up your meal in the evening.”

When Marry left, Lexie carefully got out of bed, rummaged through her suitcase, and put the small wooden box inside that her mother had left her in the canvas bag she usually took out with her.

Leaving J City, she didn’t plan to take too many things with her, a little savings, and her mother’s relics would be enough.

At night, Lexie ate some porridge and felt tired, so she went to sleep.

And at that moment, the sound of an engine rang out in the yard, and Edith helped Alan into the living room.

“Edith, what’s wrong with Alan? Has he drunk?” Diana exclaimed and stepped forward to help.

“Mrs. Stewart, Alan seems to be drunk, I’ll send him up to rest.” Edith had a concerned face.

“Miss Edith, you’ve had drunk quite a lot too, are you alright?” Marry wanted to step forward to give a hand, but was stopped by a look from Diana.

Diana ordered, “Marry, go cook some sober soup and send it up later.”

“Edith, then you send Alan up, the second room on the second floor on the left, don’t take the wrong one.”

Edith nodded, and when she met Diana’s eyes, her eyes tried desperately to suppress her excitement, and her hand holding Alan couldn’t help but tremble.

Diana smiled meaningfully at her, “Edith, please take good care of Alan.”

“I will, Mrs. Stewart.”

After settling Alan on the bed, Edith carefully asked, “Alan, are you okay?”

Alan was lying unresponsive on the bed.

Seeing this, Edith carefully took out a white paper bag from her handbag, turned her back to Alan and poured it inside the water cup on the bed, “Alan, drink some water, you will be better.”

Alan was drunk and unconscious, allowing Edith to feed him half a glass of water down.

Putting down the cup, Edith climbed up the bed and unbuttoned her shirt.

Alan’s wheat-colored chest was fully displayed, and his cold, handsome face was reflected in her eyes as if he was the embodiment of desire, making her want to pounce on him.

Edith sat on her knees over him and undid her own clothes.

Half-drunk and half-awake, Alan suddenly opened his eyes.

Edith was shocked, her face was white with fear, “You … you’re not drunk …”

And in the next second, Alan’s eyes went blurry and he violently rolled the woman over and pressed her down.

Edith snapped back to her senses and calmed down.

How could he still be sober after all the drinking he’d done tonight?

As the man tore her clothes, she immediately circled his neck, her voice soft, “Alan …”

At this moment, in the living room on the first floor, Diana listened to the commotion coming from upstairs and could hardly hide the smugness on her face as she waved her hand towards Marry, “There’s no need to send it.”

Marry put down the soup.

“By the way, that mute …”

“Don’t worry, the porridge I gave her at night has been given a sufficient amount of sleeping pills in it, she won’t even wake up tonight, so she definitely won’t spoil your good deed, Madam.”

“That’s good, it is such a rare and good opportunity, we can’t let her out to spoil it.” Diana coldly snorted, “As a cripple, she wants to earn a place in the Howard family? Don’t dream.”

Knowing that Alan had asked Edith to dinner tonight, she guessed that something would happen at night, and she had confidence on the tactics of this second young lady of the Mitchell family.

And all she had to do was take care of that mute.

“Madam, isn’t it a bit too risky for us to do this?” Marry showed concern, “if outsiders find it out, isn’t it bad for the Howard family’s reputation?”

Diana laughed coldly, “Who would go out and make a big deal out of such things? Edith?”

Marry froze, “What if Mr. Alan is angry?”

“What does this have to do with us? It’s her who sent Alan back, and we can’t stop them, so don’t think about it, we didn’t do anything.”

After saying this, Diana yawned and stretched out before went towards her bedroom, “I’ll get a good night’s sleep tonight.”

It was late in the night.

Lexie slept in a daze and had a very deep dream.

Vaguely, she felt as if someone had pulled herself up, and the cold breeze dug into her pajamas.

She couldn’t help but shiver, and subconsciously reached out to pull at the quilt, but before her hand could reach the quilt, she was pressed down, and the next second, something rushed into her body.

‘Ah…’

The unfamiliar yet déjà vu sensation invaded her limbs, and the pain made her cry out in surprise, jerking her awake from her dream with a start. When she opened her eyes, only to catch a glimpse of the man heaving over her.

Alan …

Why was he here!

The moment she woke up, cold sweat instantly seeped out from Lexie’s back, she wanted to scream but couldn’t, desperately trying to escape this nightmare.

This must be a nightmare.

Alan’s eyes were red, he was like a beast out of its cage, as if he was going to tear her apart in the next second, and no matter how much she struggled, he held her firmly in his grip.

Sweat slid down the scar on the man’s face and dripped onto Lexie’s face, mixing with her tears.
