My Four Miraculous Treasures

As she entered, one of the visitors looked her way. His eyes flashed with a hint of lust, glinting menacingly.

Willow sensed a blazing pair of eyes watching her, so intently that it made her skin prickle. She followed that searing gaze back to its source. There was a man with a fashionable hairstyle peering at her-but when she returned his gaze, he immediately averted his eyes. Hmm... shifty sort of fellow.

The man had a pronounced pot-belly, as though six months pregnant. He had an oily face, and an ungraceful balding pattern.

This was the man Willow thought she recognized, but couldn't quite figure out where they might have met before...

Facing him directly like this, it abruptly dawned on her: This was her blind date, from that time! Mr. Lawson!

Remembering how the man had tried to feel her up, Willow felt a sudden surge of disgust. She turned away from him, and went over to the side table to make some coffee.

She didn't notice how Jasper's cold, dark eyes had taken in every detail of her silent exchange with Mr. Lawson... and how this had made the look in his eyes even colder, and darker...

"Mr. Hughes, we're willing to hand over Zeigler Corporation to you, in its entirety... provided you drop all legal charges against us." The one who said this was Charles Zeigler, CEO of Zeigler Corporation. He was seated beside Mr. Lawson.

Although well-dressed, Charles had a face that was absolutely riddled with acne scars, and he was crooked and frail, a miserable creature. Compared to Jasper Hughes, he was an especially wretched sight in here.

His attention was fully focused on this negotiation with Jasper. He was even willing to give up his entire company, as long as he himself could get away unharmed. At this point, that was all he cared about.

Mr. Lawson presented another diplomatic smile. "That's right! On behalf of the company, I've brought along all the necessary paperwork if it sounds like a good deal to you, Mr. Hughes, you can sign it right here, right now... and Zeigler Corporation will be yours-just like that, with our compliments-to do with as you

please!"

His full name was Lars Lawson, and he headed up the Legal Department of Zeigler Corporation. His boss had brought him along today to handle the legal procedures.

for you, which you then used on that fashion show runway, announcing them as exclusively your own work, and spinning a story through the media that we were the ones plagiarizing your designs. The damage you've done to our reputation is far beyond the worth of your entire company... yet you have the gall to ask us for money?" With words of fire and brimstone, Tyson demonstrated Jasper's power by speaking for him.

His words had a great effect on Lars Lawson, who began mopping away a whole lot of nervous sweat.

Charles Zeigler shifted uncomfortably, and turned to glare at his lawyer. Did this guy have any idea how to handle a negotiation?!

With our compliments,' indeed! As though they were in a position to ask for anything! It would already be a miracle if they accepted Zeigler Corporation as enough settlement for this dispute!

He turned to face Jasper himself,

struggling to get a smile back on his face. "Mr. Hughes, as proof of our contrition, offer you a payment of two billion-my own money-as well as all our company holdings. I hope that might make up for the losses you've suffered from our terrible trespass against you. What do you think?"

Hughes Corporation was the biggest fish in this town, with an estimated worth in the billions. If there was a real accounting of the damage done to them by Zeigler Corporation's sneaky little trick... it would come up to more than they could ever hope to pay off. Their only hope now was to apologize and offer a very handsome penalty, so that they might be able to survive the backlash.

Jasper produced a cigarette, lit it, and took a puff. As the smoke curled about him, he said sternly, "One more condition..." "Anything! Anything you want, Mr. Hughes!" Charles was delighted.
