Chapter 250 I Am Straight

Every word Colin was saying hammered deeply into your heart.

"Colin." She felt a twinge in her heart.

"Just stop your treatment," Faye said in a choking voice.

Faye clenched the corners of Colin's clothes, pursing her lips, and then said, "Have you heard of panic

disorder? Most people who have this disease have personality defects, such as feeling insecure, a

strong control desire, and a strong sense of dependence."

"I don't mind it," Colin said.

"Life is long. At the beginning, you might enjoy being controlled and being relied upon. But you'll get

tired of it one day."

"You haven't given it a try. How do you know I'll be tired of them?"

"I dare not try it," Faye said with a bitter smile.

Colin didn't know what to say, because it made his heart ache to hear that.

In this event, it was hard to balance between emotions and reason.

Promises often had a way of disappointing. No one dared to give it a try.

Besides, Faye was in a unique condition. If she lost, she might even lose her life.

After the phone call with Colin, Alexander drove his second-hand car to Jake's clinic.

Before that, Colin had transferred him a large sum of money for the action.

Alexander came to the front desk and asked to make an appointment with Dr. Thomas.

So the nurse had to call Jake. "Dr. Thomas, when will you be back? A patient asks to make an

appointment with you."

"I'm already on my way back. I'll be there in about five minutes," Jake said on the phone.

"OK, I'll tell him," the nurse said.

Hearing Jake was on the way back, Alexander nodded and sat down in a chair, lighting a cigarette.

Alexander wondered, "What is a person with mental illness like? Is Faye always being sentimental? But

I don't think she looks that way."

While he was pondering while smoking, the nurses at the front desk were whispering.

"He doesn't seem to have come to see a doctor."

"Is he here to cause troubles?"

"But he's handsome."

As Alexander smoked, the cigarette was suddenly seized from his mouth.

Alexander raised his head back and saw Jake.

"Young boy, smoking is not allowed here." Jake looked down at him, wearing a brown windbreaker.

Jake stubbed out his cigarette and tossed it into the trash can.

"Dr. Thomas, you're here." The nurse greeted him. "Where's the patient?" Jake asked.

"The one who was smoking there," the nurse said.

Jake looked at Alexander, raising an eyebrow. "Do you have a problem?"

"I don't have a problem!" Alexander answered back. But thinking of his purpose, he corrected himself.

"Yes, I have a problem."

Jake gave Alexander a half smile. "Go to my office." He said and walked away.

Alexander caught up with him, wearing his troubled face.

In the office, Jake took off his coat and put on a doctor's gown, asking Alexander, "Tell me about your

problem. Take it easy. Take this as a casual talk."

Alexander cursed in his heart, "How can I have a problem? I sleep and eat well every day except that I

don't have a girlfriend and money."

After a few seconds' reflections, Alexander raised his top question. "Dr. Thomas, do you like men or

women?" Jake glanced back at him. "Huh?"

"I'm straight," Alexander explained.

"It's my privacy. Tell me about your illness," Jake said, turning to Alexander.

His equivocal response didn't dispel Alexander's suspicion. Alexander took a deep breath, suppressing

the feeling of discomfort.

Thinking of the popular tragedies in soap operas he had watched, he cleared his throat and cried out, "I Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

really had a tragic childhood!"

Jake turned his back to Alexander to button his doctor's gown. Hearing Alexander's pathetic tone, he

froze for a moment and said, "Go on."

"When I was very young, my father went to prison. My mother said she would wait for his release but

had remarried before the spring of the next year, leaving me to my grandmother." Alexander put on an

act to get sympathy.

Not satisfied with his own acting, Alexander continued, scratching his head, "When I was in school, my

classmates even bullied me, because my dad had been in prison, which caused my depression."

When Alexander finished his words, Jake turned around and walked to his desk and sat down, his

fingers crossed on the desk. "Is that all?"

"Ye... Yes," Alexander said, less confidently, though he was trying his best to be calm.

"How long have you been this way?" Jake put on a serious face.

"Seven or eight years." Alexander thought he had fooled Jake.

"Will your grandma's or friends' hugs make you feel better?" Jake said.

"Yes," Alexander said, puzzled by his question.

"Well, in psychology, this is called skin hunger," Jake said.

"What?" Alexander was stunned by the weird term. "Is it curable?"

Jake walked over to him with a smile. "Stand up."

"Why?" Alexander was confused.

Jake was six feet tall and over two inches taller than Alexander.

Being looked down at, Alexander had a weird feeling and got gooseflesh all over.

Suddenly, Jake gripped his wrist and took him into his arms.

"Darn it," Alexander cursed silently.

"Are you feeling better now?" Jake said in a serious tone.

Alexander answered through clenched teeth, "Yes."

Jake chuckled. "Don't forget to pay the bill. I charge 300 dollars per hour."

Alexander's jaw dropped as he heard the amount.

Alexander left Jake's office in a lingering fright.

After he left, Jake leaned back against the desk, texting Faye a message. "Colin is investigating me."
