Marrying my high school bully

He’s cheating

Lorraine

He finally gave me his personal number so I could contact him about the location of the wedding. I didn’t know why I should be that excited that a stranger-no-new friend that I just made, would grace my wedding.

I would tell Dexter about it once he comes back.

Satisfied that I’d returned home before him, I decided to execute the exciting plans I’d been making in my head.

I began with dinner. I couldn’t remember the last time I cooked for him, since he boasted constantly that he was a better cook than I was.

He deserved to be pampered, and tonight, he’d get loads of it from me.

I donned on an apron, the one Dexter normally wore when he wanted to enter ‘chef mode’, then I went ahead to get some ingredients from the pantry and began the preparation.

Cooking was tasking in all ramifications, which I avoided like a plague but it didn’t mean that I wasn’t a good cook, and tonight I’d show Dexter how useful I could be in the kitchen.

A few hours later, I served large chunks of roast beef on silver chinaware. I did the same with the mashed potatoes and poached wild salmon. I quickly whipped up sour cream cornbread for dessert then arranged them on the dining table.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

Sweaty from the exhausting activities in the kitchen, I trotted to our bedroom to have a shower. Dexter couldn’t have me while my skin was mucky and inundated with the tantalizing aroma of different delicacies made by me.

When the cold water from the shower tap hit my bare skin, I let out a sigh and leaned on the tiled wall. Now I realized how much effort Dexter used to put in each time he prepared dinner for me.

I wanted to be ready before he returned so I finished up fast and used my lotion. I took out the red lingerie set I got from my bag and raked through my hair as heat sizzled within me.

The lingerie fit me perfectly as I stared at my jaw-dropping reflection from the full length mirror. I decided to do something different with my hair so I curled to be wavy, enjoying how bouncy it felt below my shoulder each time I moved.

The charm wouldn’t be complete without subtle makeup and a sultry perfume. So I donned it all up and sent a text to Dexter.

-Food is ready, honey. Tell me how you want it served. I added a wink emoji that gave off flirty vibes then hit the send button.

I tapped the wooden dining table, patiently waiting for his response. My eyes darted at the clock and I realised that he was supposed to be back already.

If he was going to come back late, he’d have called me already. I shoved aside the nerve-wracking imaginations that whirled up in my head as I thought of how happy he’d be when I showed him the bracelet and I hoped he would like it.

Even if he doesn’t, I’ll get more gifts for him.

Twenty minutes later, there was no text or calls. Nothing. Just me staring at the wall clock which ticked at an annoyingly fast pace.

I couldn’t keep it in anymore. The food was getting cold and my excitement was thinning. I didn’t know whether to be worried or angry.

Surely, he wouldn’t ignore my text if he wasn’t busy. No, I think again. Dexter had always prioritized everything that concerned me even to the littlest details.

There was no way he didn’t see the text except…

I dialed his number, my heart stuck in my throat as I waited for him to pick up the call. My anxiety had to be calmed so I began to count from one to ten. One, two, three…

“Hello, Lorraine,” A sultry voice greeted me, then a moan followed. The apparently knew who I was and I might probably know her too.

Bile rose up to my throat as I froze, my breathing hitched. My mouth tasted like copper and my brain stopped working for a moment, unable to process the fact that the reason Dexter ignored my text was because of a woman?

No way!

‘He’s cheating,’ a voice said within me.

He couldn’t be, I argued as tears sprouted in my eyes.

“Where’s Dexter?” I managed to ask, happy that my voice came out controlled and not fretty like I thought it would be.

She moaned, louder than the first time. I could imagine a triumphant smile creeping on her face. “He.. He’s behind me…” She stopped talking, then a loud bang from the door reverberated from my phone.

“What the fvck are you doing?”

That was Dexter’s voice, blazing with anger and maybe disapproval that she had to leak their dirty secret.

My eyes burned as he called my name gently, like he hadn’t done anything wrong. “Honey, please listen to-” I dropped the call and flung my phone across the wall, not minding if it got damaged then burst into uncontrollable sobs.

Some minutes later, his car rolled into the compound, something he wasn’t able to do over twenty minutes ago.

I got up from my chair, but his swiftness from his car to the living room took me aback and I almost flinched. I’d already dried my eyes because I didn’t want him to know that I’ve shed several tears because of him.

His eyes looked relieved after he finished staring at me from head to toe. Did he think I’ll ram a knife into my stomach just because he couldn’t keep his dick in his tight pants?

“I guess you didn’t see the text because of how busy you were,” I said with a tone filled sarcasm. “But I prepared dinner for you. It’s on the dining table.” I nudged towards the table and turned my back against him, heading towards our room-no-his room.

I wouldn’t share a room with him. I’d rather sleep in the basement than lie on the same bed that he would lay on.

“Lorraine, please I can explain.” His voice was cracked, sadness brimming through it as I halted my steps.

I huffed. “There’s no need to explain. You might have had your reasons.” I walked away, praying that he wouldn’t follow me.
