Easton watched the cops lead Elena away, his blood boiling. Josiah was still waiting to draw up the share transfer agreement. The thought of this had Easton throwing a sullen look at Grace and Athena while they comforted Madelyn.

He had been so concerned about the shares that he hadn’t heard George recounting how Andrew got hurt while saving Madelyn.

Upon hearing this, Grace and Athena pinned Easton with a vicious stare. He gulped as he looked at Madelyn. Despite her innocent expression, he knew she had done this on purpose.

Athena was fuming. “If you really were retrieving a document, why did you have to look like you were sneaking around? Do you take me for a fool?

The truth was out and undisputed. If Elena couldn’t get out of this with her cunningness, Easton would not fare any better.

The vein near Easton’s temple throbbed when he caught the smug look in Madelyn’s eyes.

Athena said, “Maddie, let’s go into the study.”

“Yes, Grandma,” Madelyn replied sweetly.

Easton was powerless as he watched the two women leave. He could not stop what was bound to happen next.
